Over time I've come to enjoy Forrest Gump less. Like Masterchief said, it's really heavy with...everything. I'll take it over Benjamin Button though.

The difference between Forrest Gump and Benjamin Button is that I doubt Robert Zemeckis had Oscars in mind when he did his film. The movie is a comedy. Let's not overlook that. And the Oscars aren't the biggest comedy fans. So, I think Forrest Gump is a lot more sincere than Benjamin Button which was obvious Oscar-bait.

I like both movies but I wouldn't say I love either.

Oh ****, I forgot to complain about the worst part of ROTK. Eowyn saying "I'm no man!" and killing the Witch King. The invincible nazgul dies through a loophole?? Are you ****ing kidding me?!

1. It wasn't a loophole, it was a figure of speech. Thus far he hadn't come across a person who could kill him. She proved him wrong.

2. She took his head off, I don't care if you're Godzilla, that move alone will kill anything, even immortal beings. Highlander, anyone?

I'm fine with head removing deaths, but that's NOT what the movie told us. It clearly implies women could kill him, you can't get around that.

In the Appendices there's a segment covering the Witch King's past in which one of the high elves of Elrond's house foresees that "he will not die by the hand of man." The Witch King knew this prophecy and thus feared no-one in battle, so when it was revealed that it was a woman he was facing a seed of doubt was sewn in his mind, slightly weakening his defences and allowing Merry (also not a man) to strike the crucial blow.

So there.

Then that should have been explained in the movie. It doesn't matter one lick if it makes sense in the books. It's not movie-canon.

It really is. I think the only reason I have even endured it as long as I have is because of Tom Hanks. I absolutely love him, but I can name probably about a dozen other movies of his that I would prefer to watch.

I just felt like it kept constantly knocking at cultures, over doing practically everything and constantly changing themes and ideas as well as genres...is it a comedy or drama?

Call me crazy, and this isn't really crazy but I cannot stand Never Back Down. I finally watched it, and almost all my friends, and people I know swore up and down that it is a good movie. I watched it, and if it wasn't for Djimon Honsou(I spelled it wrong) I would've never endured what I did. The acting was fine, but the editing was awful, the fight scenes were repulsive and the message was revolting. Constantly going back and forth between, FIGHTING IS GOOD...NO, FIGHTING IS BAD...NO, FIGHTING IS GOOD. It made no sense. Yuck.

As for as I can tell, nobody apart from MMA fans thinks it's a good movie.

*Has a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Seems like they're pandering to an audience. MMA fans judging a movie that's about MMA? Hm.

I literally went through about 20-30 people men/women included that said this movie is awesome. I'm not even kidding, some even using the word 'great'. I had to see what it was about, and I have no idea what was so great about it. I even enjoy MMA, but I did not enjoy Never Back Down. It was a watered down The Karate Kid. Funny because I noticed elements from TDKR and Warrior in it, the only thing is that TDKR and Warrior did MUCH better with what they had. Definitely reviewing this movie, and beginning my assault on what's 'popular' in mainstream culture, especially for my generation.

Do people think it's bad? I haven't seen it but have only heard good things. Plus, it's PTA.

We're so used to bad Adam Sandler movies, we tend to overlook the great ones.
