That is just sad! Couldn't they have picked someone else? Mr. Daly isn't exactly the brightest man on the block. They should have picked Conan.

My friends and I watched the first episode yesterday. It was pretty funny, and I'm looking forward to the next ones and an eventual DVD. We all agreed it was pretty fruitacious that Carson Daly was the one that inspired him to begin his "quest", punning that he's the worst late night show host out there at the moment (and probably one of the worst of all time).

But maybe that can be seen as a joke as well (as JBond pointed)? Afterall, Earl is a big hick. Only a moron would take anything Carson has to say seriously.

But I would say that would be our points of view. Carson Daly obviously did the part because he probably thought it was an honor.

Meh, either way. Jason Lee was on Conan O'Brien that night of the premiere, as was the actress that played Earl's wife on Carson Daly. I'm sure his "cameo" came up in discussion at some point in that interview.

How did My Name Is Earl get so ridiculous? TBS is airing the episode with Danny Glover right now. Apparently, Crab Man is a secret agent/government assassin. How did this show get off track? No wonder it got cancelled.

The episode with "Pinky" was excellent, but the later seasons are definitely very inconsistant.
