Lauren Montgomery and Sam Liu will co-direct the movie, with Tab Murphy adapting. "Batman: Year One" is considered a milestone in superhero comicbookdom. Written by Miller ("300," "Sin City") and illustrated by Italian artist David Mazucchelli (who also teamed with Miller on "Daredevil: Born Again"), the four-issue series explores the gritty early days of the hero, as he teams with a mistrustful young Lieutenant.

Bruce Timm talked about this flick on Wizard Magazine. He said it was gonna be "more real" than Nolan's movies.

Haha, my friend used to be a bouncer at a club here in Austin, and Eliza walked up saying she knew the owner and wanted to get let in ahead of the line. He looked right at her and said "*****, who the **** do you think you are, everyone in town knows the owner! Your ass will wait like everyone else." When he realized it was her he felt terrible, but I told him he did the right thing.

And I like Eliza Dushku but her voice doesn't fit. Neither does Batman's...

yeah casting is a bit funky but it's got nice atmosphere and action

The kind of voices used heavily influences the mood and environment for me. If they don't fit, it's hard to stay engaged.

Though yes everything else looks pretty good...
