Hi all,
I was just thinking about the conversation in the "What book are you reading" thread about a book club. Yes, a little hard to get off the ground and keep up on, but it made me wonder about what people's favorite types of books are. I generally read True Crime Biographies History (mostly war time stuff) Suspense/Thrillers Fantasy (Swords & Sorcery type) Trivia the Supernatural. Maybe after some thought we can make recommendations in different categories of interest

Alternative History, primarily Eric Flint and Harry Turtledove
Sci-Fi, lots of David Weber and John Scalzi lately, but anything good and original. I avoid movie license novels like Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. Everything Douglas Adams wrote, including the lesser known stuff like Last Chance To See. For comics, I've got the complete Preacher series in hardcover. Best series ever. |

I stick to sci fi or fantasy mainly. Never read true stories or autobiographies, I always see a book as a way to escape reality.
