Looks like one hell of an expensive risk to take but I applaud the attempt.

As far as a near-6 minute trailer goes they did pretty good. M83 always helps, of course.

I've just purchased the book, actually, and it is on my reading list. I have no idea how the story is supposed to fit into a two-hour movie (or three-hour movie, for that matter). The trailer looked pretty, but based on the trailer alone, I had no idea what was going on. I have a feeling that it will turn out to be a beautiful looking movie with many chunks of it missing. Then again, the movie does have a The Fountain vibe, and I LOVE The Fountain. So you never know.
