Default More Harry Potter

According to the news, J.K. Rowling says "Never Say Never to More Harry Potter". Does that mean there will be more Harry Potter books and movies showing Harry and his friends and enemies as adults having their own families and sending their children to Hogwarts even after Deathly Hallows Part 2 hits theaters? Tell me what you think.

Though she ddidn't explicitly rule it out, i think if she does set more books in the world of harry potter, he will not be the main character. Though i personally would prefer that, she has completed her HP story arc but it would be a shame not to write more set in this world. I think there may be a number of interesting options for main characters/ stories.

1. harrys/rons/dracos children the next generation at hogwarts perhaps the most obvious option.
2. A prequel (personally i think more exciting) with harry's parents and co. maybe at school or start of first wizarding war
3. A Prequel earlier in dumbledore's life.
Any other ideas?

I think franchise wise her publishers and film producers or whatever would love a sequel later in harry's life to sell max, failing that have it about the children. But as a reader I think a prequel could be much more interesting and revealing.

I guarentee any future Harry Potter books will be awful. But someday, yeah, she'll do them. Who wouldn't write a book for millions of dollars?

BrickTop, I'm glad you think that someday J.K. Rowling will do more Harry Potter. And I like the ideas you came up with on how she can do it. But I guess Harry Potter may not be the main character according to the ideas you put up. As for you JBond and Neverending, I'm not sure what to say about your answers.

No one ever does, we just try to humor them from time to time.

As for more Harry Potter books. I'm fairly certain something else will come along. I doubt J.K. Rowling will make anything as big as Harry Potter ever again........ if she even needs to. But the insane amount of money will get her to write more.

Id rather see a Book that profiled Snapes character. That be a wicked cool thing to develope for a movie. Snapes story is also a great prequel set up for HP books and stories.

Excuse me sshuttari but what do you mean by "Continue the battle of hogwarts in your basement, It shall live for infinity and beyond"? I don't understand what you mean by that and besides I don't have a basement in my house. So please tell me what you mean by this.

I don't think JK will write another Harry Potter book, but I would bet on her writing another book that takes place in that world. A book about a grown up Harry is very uninteresting to me, but a book that goes more in depth into the friendship/relationship between Grindlewald and Dumbledore, or a book about Tom Riddle's growth into Voldemort might be good. We don't know much about what Voldemort did between childhood and killing Harry's parents. A book filling in that gap might be interesting.

She should do a Hufflepuff story as they were hardly mentioned at all in the books

I think you're right because Gryffindor and Slytherin were pretty much the only houses at Hogwarts that were talked about in the Harry Potter series. Hufflepuff was hardly mentioned in the story and I also believe that Ravenclaw was hardly mentioned in the story as well. So if there should be a story about Hufflepuff then should there be a story about Ravenclaw too?

Ravenclaw was more involved though, and there were a couple of stand out supporting roles from that house.

I like this idea, although I also like the idea of her doing a book set in the Wizarding world outside of Hogwarts.

There's a wealth of story possibilities involving the Auror Department in the Ministry of Magic. That would be something exciting set outside Hogwarts but still in the same Potter universe. I'd definitely be interested in reading books that focused on that.

I agree. I'd like to see it set outside of England. Maybe Romania or something. There are so many possibilities to explore, I don't think she should limit herself to the same setting.
