People can say what they want about us Yankee fans, but I back up my loyalty with immense knowledge of the team's history and baseball in general. I'm a bit of a historian with the sport like I am with film, and tracing the Yankees' history is a lot of fun.

Yankees history is known by me as well but I would say i am a fan of them really. Every player wants to be a yankee though it seems. Yankee is always a favorite to get to the world series. Kinda like The NE Patriots of Football.

got wandy rodriguez, who i kinda like, and i love the deal for our payroll, he is owed like 30 million over the next 3 years, but we only owe like 17 over the three years, and only like 3 this year, and half his whole salary the next two years. not gonna wow you with his stuff, but he is a veteran who can eat some innings, especially in pnc.

but we gave up one of my favorite players, rudy owens. dude was tearing it up this year in indy, and he was a 28th round pick back in 06. guy just works to get better each year, really like his work ethic, and wish him the best (except against us).

and damn you scrubs. i hate your team so much. pains me to see the battlin' bucs losing a series to you.

Casey McGehee and Aramis Ramirez have both played for only the Pirates, Cubs and Brewers. Must be weird for them, too.

I was so relieved when Prince didn't become a Cub.

My thoughts on the trades:

Ichiro - Washed up. Might give the Yankees a slight boost with a change of scenery but hes more of a big name than a big talent at this point.

Wandy - Love this trade for the Pirates. They gave up some talent but I think this puts them in the playoffs. I'll be rooting them on.

Hanley - I wish the Orioles would've traded for him if thats all it took... Apparently hes a bad clubhouse guy/next Manny Ramirez and hes owed alot of money but if he can get back to the 2010 version of himself its a steal. His star waned fast. I don't buy that hes done.

I'm not sure if I agree -- yet -- because of some of the reports of his malaise being a Mariner, and I can understand why he would be. He's got the short right field porch on our home turf, a change of scenery/renewed hope to get a ring (and we're looking good this year) plus, because of our lineup, people actually have to pitch to him now instead of just working around him to get to the other Mariners. Plus, he's still decently fast & he's still got a great arm, which we've been needing since Gardner went down.

Overall: if he's a bust, no big deal, we eat contracts; and, if he has a resurgence being in pinstripes, we'll even scarier...which is hard to fathom.
