Desmond, no. But dude, he was amazing as Magneto and "First Class" was one of the best X-Men films to date!

I've been talking about this for awhile now. I'm very excited to see how a video game company will do, being able to independently develop a movie themselves. Presumedly they'll try a little harder not to screw it up, at least in comparison to pretty much all other video game adaptions.
Honestly this is the route Blizzard could have or should have gone, being their company probably has even more funds to do so.

To be fair, it's speculation that he's playing Desmond. Personally, I feel he's slightly too old now. But I like having him involved.
Yeah, it's early and yeah it's not a lot to go on but that's kinda why this site exists.

If he was Desmond, isn't he a really big name to have for 5 mins at the start and maybe end of the movie? I'd expect a trilogy and Desmond would only really be the main star of the last one. I also don't expect them to do all the games or eras.

I'd have thought they'd have the same actor play Desmond and his ancestors.

That's how the games were at first, but in Revelations they seemed to change it up, and each character looked different. They may go that route for the movie.

If you're casting Michael Fassbender, every character has to look like Michael Fassbender.

This is amazing news! I can't wait to see what happens... And where this series goes!
Fassbender or Bust! The guy can act and I'm surprised were not getting more blockbusters with this guy at the helm of many projects

Interesting choice for Fassbender... You'd think he could have his pick of the litter at this point.
