It wouldn't surprise me at all if they mess this up. Immediately jumping into a Justice League movie just because the Avengers is doing well, is the wrong route to take.

Agreed. They just have too much explaining to do for the general audience that would take up most of the movie. If they want to follow by Marvel's example then they should do one individual superhero movie at a time. But the closest we're getting to that is the Batman and Superman movies which WB's been making without a Justice League movie in mind.

They should just do World Finest live action films instead.

I can sort of understand why they wouldn't want to use Bale's Batman but there's no reason not to use Cavill's Superman. Actually I think I'd honestly like it better if it had Bale's Batman too, despite the weird implications for Bale's universe that would bring. One of the reasons Avengers worked was because we didn't need much setup time for these versions of all the characters, we already knew what their character traits were and what specific events they had already been through.
If you get a completely new Superman and Batman, even though the general public is mostly familiar with the characters as a whole, there have been so many different versions that we would need a decent amount of setup time to explain what elements of the characters and their histories were chosen for this version. I mean sure people know The basic facts about Superman and stuff, but would this version be one where he was or wasn't dating Lois, is it one where she does or doesn't know that he's Superman, has he met Lex Luthor yet, is Jonathan still alive or not, is Clark a big klutzy goofy nerd or is he a respected journalist who just happens to be quiet and introverted, does he know everything about his heritage and Krypton or are there parts he hasn't figured out, has he been operating in Metropolis for a long time or is he just starting out, has he taken on any big time villains yet, etc. Knowing that type of stuff is pretty important to how this version of the character reacts to others and to the events of the film, you can't just have a new guy show up in a Superman suit and be like "Hey guys look it's Superman you all know Superman right?" And the same type of questions would be asked about this version of Batman, And even if they do establish these things it would take some time and it would be weird to have this character operating in films at the same time as Cavill's version, especially if some of those setup facts conflict.

They're more than likely going to do a reimagining/reboot of Batman after Nolan. If they were going to do a Justice League film, they should have the new Man of Steel kick it off, and start lining up other movies to lead into it, including a new Batman and Green Lantern.

If Green Lantern wasn't such a failure, i am sure a Justice League movie would be fast tracked to come out...

I do not see whats wrong with doing a WF film instead. The reboot Batman can be in the same universe as the Superman after Cavill, cause Snyder said his hero also takes place in a universe that only has 1 superhero.

I'm honestly okay with them rushing into a Justice League movie. Granted, the cast they've got going is not the cast I'd want to see. Ideally... we'd have Bale as Batman, Tom Welling as Superman, either Haley Atwell or Serinda Swan for Wonder Woman, Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad for Flash, Chris Pine for Green Lantern, Idris Elba for Martian Manhunter, as for Aquaman... I don't know, some unknown who fits the role.

Probably. I do think they should either start pre-production on it now and aim for a 2014 release, or just forget about it. People are familiar enough with Batman and Superman, and we've had Green Lantern recently. There's no reason they can't establish Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and the Martian Manhunter in the Justice League movie itself. Flash is the only one of those characters who doesn't hail from some exotic location (the Amazon, Atlantis, and Mars, respectively), so you could even show the movie from the perspective of the Flash and highlight how bewildered he would be amongst the trio of established heroes and then also the trio of characters from far off locales. I think it would work.

Tornado gave me an idea, and he's more than welcome to use that idea in my next idea(said idea too many times). Basically, we should go around making a JL 'want list' for characters. I think that would be pretty cool, kinda see what everyone is wanting out of this movie. I'm down, if everyone else is.

I kind of did that a few posts up, but let's make it interesting... how about no re-using of actors who have played the parts previously? So no Bale for Bats, no Welling/Cavill for Superman, etc.
I'll have something up later.

More or less what I wanted to do. I'm down. No previously used actors. Seems simple enough.

Here is mine:
Clark Kent/Superman: Jon Hamm Bruce Wayne/Batman: Joe Manganiello Diana Prince/Wonder Woman: Alexandria Daddario/Gina Carano Hal Jordan/Green Lantern: Nathan Fillion Barry Allen/Flash: Chris Pine Orin/Aquaman: Garrett Hedlund J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter: Idris Elba/Djimon Honsou Truth be told, I cannot think of an actress for Wonder Woman. So I threw up what I could.

Gina Carano is a terrible actress. And so is Alexandra Daddario. Both are incredibly hot and physically right for the role, but neither can act.

Honestly, I don't know why I'm suggesting they go the Marvel route because I felt the lead up films to The Avengers were significantly damaged by essential being long trailers for it. However, it would be nice to FINALLY see a WW movie before the Justice League and maybe another Green Lantern to. Most importantly, having those separate films beforehand will make Justice League more of an event.

The hype is still very much alive. $600 million at the domestic box office is no joke.

Well true, but DC should aim for not just an ''event'' feeling but also a very good movie.
