I guess. That's the best thing I could think of too. The only thing is that he doesn't really seem all that power hungry. And he's so secretive its not widely known that he has power.
I suppose that's it though.

I have the same problem with Marlo Stanfield in The Wire.

He's not known to the public or police, but he's definitely known in the underworld.

Just finished Season 2, and again...WOW! This is seriously an incredible, incredible show!

Only 2 more seasons to go before I'm all caught up in time for Season 5.

Seasons 2 and 3 were my favorites, if I recall.

Exactly. In a position like this, it's not about being known to everyone, moreso being known to the right people.

Currently in the process of finishing season four. It's pretty good so far, but not quite as great as the previous seasons.

Season 4 starts slow, but once it gets going, it becomes a masterpiece.

Marlo wanted respect from everyone, that was his main thing. When he felt disrespected he wanted that person dead, he even had a man killed for supposedly spreading a rumor that Marlo was homosexual.

Just started Season 3, and is it weird that I found the pizza landing perfectly on the roof after Walter threw the box up in anger funny? Was it somehow supposed to be a bit of dark humor? Cause, either way, I laughed.

I don't know about masterpiece but yeah, it definitely finishes very strong. Season 3 is the pinnacle.

The last three episodes of season 4 are the best in the series. To me, that's the pinnacle. So far, anyway.

I'm not sure why Season 4 gets so much praise, but alright. It seems to me the first half/two-thirds was such a letdown (in comparison) that any rise in quality near the end made up for it to some people.

I watched all four seasons without reading any kind of online spoilers, reviews and whatnot. As such, for whatever reason, I enjoyed every single season. From my point of view, I don't get the season 4 bashing. It was amazing, just like the seasons that came before it.

I haven't seen anyone bash it, I just don't think it really stood out, and I think everyone likes it more than me.

Season 4 was great, but the stand out season is definitely season 3.

I guess by the time season 4 came around, I was so emotionally invested that I didn't notice the drop in quality.

Season 4 is when Walter becomes the villain of the story. It's arguably the most important season because that's when we see the transformation from HS science teacher to Heisenberg. Meanwhile, let's not forget Jesse. His transformation has been the opposite. He went from street hooligan to the show's moral compass. I look at it this way, seasons 1 thru 3 are the first act of the story. Seasons 4 and 5.1 are the second act. And season 5.2 is act three.

I tend to agree. I heard how great season 4 was and for the first 7 or 8 episodes I was thinking 'why is this supposed to be so great?'. It ends very well but I felt like season 3 was that good the whole run.

If I had to rank the seasons:

Season 3
Season 2
Season 4
Season 1 - Still very good but only 7 episodes and I didn't really get into it until season 2.

I only found the first couple episodes of season 4 to be slow. I found them to be ramping up at a very crazy pace by the 1/2 way point.

so i've been reading the last couple pages of this thread... what happened to skylars old boss?

what is going on with him? was it explicitly told to us what happened? or just assumed?

dead or knocked out? i think he will be a pretty big part in the next season, granted he is alive... but no one mentions it.

i also have no idea how it could or would come out that walt did all this to manipulate jesse (his gf, the kid), so walt has to go down on his own accord in the next season, if he goes down at all.

I was confused if he was dead or knocked out. They didn't really expalin it so maybe next season we will find out

AMC is fighting with both Dish Network and AT&T U-Verse. If any of you have those providers, hopefully you won't get screwed.
