Has any details, or cover art been released yet?

Nothing official. Temp artwork is out, but it's not official.

Remove "The complete adventures" on the side and I'll consider getting it.

Why is that your breaking point? All of the Indy boxsets have a phrase like that on them.

I would like the package to be like the LOTR trilogy rather than the Star Wars trilogy, where each movie still has its own case. Then I could get rid of Crystal Skull and forget it happened.

Yeah, the Indy set is something I'm definitely considering. Comes out a month after my birthday though....

Amazon listed the Alfred Hitchcock set this morning for $209.99.

Jeez... I'll pass at that price. That's $14 a movie, which I would never pay for a catalog title. When it drops to $120-ish, I'll spring for it.

The UK version is about $152. And since it's Universal the chances of it being region free are good, though not certain.

I believe it's rumored to be Region B, and it's obviously missing North By Northwest. I also hate the ratings logos on UK releases. I'm not wild about the UK packaging either.

209 dollars!? What!? That's insane! Sure, these are great movies, but most of these films are 40-70 years old. Whew. I'm going to have to wait.

There shouldn't be any logos on the package, based just on the picture on the last page. I already own North by Northwest, so if it's missing it's fine with me. $200 is a lot for anyhthing but it honestly seems like the right price. Comes out to about $13 a film which is about the going rate for all the non-Criterion Hitchcock films.

I want Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Justice League: Unlimited and...I think that's it...on Blu-Ray. God, that'd make my life.

$209.99 is exactly $14 a film. Forgetting the fact that the UK version probably wouldn't fit on my shelf, it's also rumored to be Region B only. And frankly, I really don't like the artwork. The digibook is much more appealing.

Also, because it's coming out at the same time, I have to compare this set to the James Bond set. The 22 Bond film set is $186.28 right now, meaning you're paying $8.46 a film. That's a pretty great deal. The set may come down in price, but $8.46 a film is outstanding. At that rate, the Hitchcock set should only be around $127. Maybe this is the difference between the two of us, but I would never pay over $10 for an individual Hitchcock film. I'll pay over $10 for new releases, but for a catalog release? Never.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but you might be waiting a while. I follow the industry pretty closely and I rarely see old cartoons being released on Blu-ray. However, Batman: TAS has been rumored for so long that I wouldn't count it out yet. I remember it being rumored for release in 2010, and then again in 2011. I haven't heard much since then, but I bet it comes out at some point.

-------------------

As for an updated wishlist for myself... that's hard to say because so much of what I have been wanting to see on Blu-ray has finally been announced for release this year. So a lot of this is going to be repeat:
  • Indiana Jones (September)
  • Lawrence of Arabia (not officially announced, but rumored for next year)
  • The Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection (September)
  • Finding Nemo (December)
  • The Avengers (September)
  • The Game (September)
  • Prometheus (October)
  • Futurama: Volumes 1-4 (pipe dream)
  • True Lies (no information)
There are probably more, but I didn't think too long about it.

That's what bluray.com says. Same with Royal Tenebaums.

Universal collection. One question: why?
http://www.shortlist.com/entertainme...vd-and-blu-ray

25 quite different movies in what I'm sure will be a very expensive set.

I would say it's movies they have on clearance, but the idea that people would buy so many packaged together is hard to believe.
