These are the early tales of Harlin Grey. Before He was leader of The Guardians of Freedom and Before he became a man focused on healing mutants and his new work in robotic replacement surgery.

Harlin Grey for years was a weapons builder and helped Howard Stark create many things but he grew tired of weapons and quit and distanced himself from Shield and anything to do with war. Today at 12 Noon The Body Of Harlin Grey washed upon the shores of South Africa or rather pieces of his skeleton. Today at 3:30 he was arrested by Shield Agents and brought before The Shield Council.

He asked only that he be allowed to address the charges to the whole Council. And so the real story of Harlin Grey will now be revealed. Because Harlin Grey had in secret cameras installed in every inch of Shield Corp.

The Six People were sitting at a table and Harlin Grey comes in his legs and Wrist were bound. Ms Maria Hill was in charge of his arrest and the security.

Grey Sits before them at a table with 10 Guards behind him. Harlin Grey Clears his throat and begins to speak.
"I do thank you for your time and hope to make things clear to you the great unknown Council of the secret organization known as Shield."

"Cut The politeness fraud for we have enough proof to have you executed at any moment." "Well that has been tried before and i have survived many things you deem uncivilized."

"Get on with your testimony." The women whos face was not seen sitting next to a silver haired man.

Harlin began to speak. The Story of Harlin Grey is really the Story of a man named James Huntley who died on March 7th 1942. He signed up to be all he could be and in those days he believed in the line that he was fighting to protect his country and yes its true the Germans were an evil scurge lead by Hitler and his men deserved death ten times over.

However he learned that there is no glory in being a solider because sometimes you must do things that would never make a glory poster. In these times we all talked about the super solider program and i was a big fan of being in awe of having powers to take out the German slave mongers.

"Now perhaps you will have time to listen to what I have to say. You are sitting in chairs with 2000 volts of of raw power that could make you crisper then Col Sanders Chicken.

You see as co founder of Shield with Howard Stark i took many liberties along the way in protecting myself from your dictatorship. I also know whom you serve and I will find out where Nick Fury is and The Avengers."

Harlin Propped up his feet onto the desk. And took a deep breath. Now where was I awe yes my first tour of duty in world war 2. We served under the command of a General who had no problem using us as expendable chess pieces. Lucky for us our Sgt was a very capable person. We known him as Logan but the world knows him today as Wolverine.co leader of the X-Men.

Logan and the 7 others in his unit had gone beyond enemy lines to blow up some bridges. A portly man named James always brought up the rear.
They had crossed into a heavily guarded area that no American unit had been able to advance over. So General Harris ordered this unit to go and do what was possible to aide possible advancements. James was a man from Morgantown WV. He however despite belief of WV was not born in a shack and did wear shoes.

He also was a mutant with the powers to heal fast and regenerate limbs. Suddenly there was a massive bombardment because there position had been given away when a solider lit a cigar when it was ordered no lights or communications left on.

The Blast seperated Logan from four men who were soon surrounded and taken prisoner by them. Hitler was the object of the war in Germany but really there was one man and group in Germany that was worse then Hitler for Hydra had goals beyond Hitlers though they pretended to serve them. However Hydra instead served a madman who indeed needed stopped.

James Huntley woke up strapped to a table and he could hear the screams of his fellow soldiers being likely either tortured for info or something much worse.

A Man came up to him but his face was covered by a mouth guard. I see you are awake. I have been very unsatisfied in the American solider. just a little bit of torture and they tell everything. Now where is the mutant that has bones for claws."

"You know the law no freaks allowed in the us army. Least thats what they tell us during the sign up process. I do not recall any boners in our unit. "I see we will have to change your mind because we will make our men mighty even if it means using American recycled parts to do so."

The Commander in charge never showed his face that often due to his own experiments in making himself greater then just a mere mortal man. A surgean comes in and cuts off Huntley left arm with a an Ax. But it is a blunt dull ax so it merely crushes its way through to the other side.

However when he turns around Huntley arm has grown back and he was completely healed. "You really should sharpen your Axes in this place. I barely need a bandaid."

I'll be back American scum. "Do hurry for i have a busy schedule dr giggles." The docter goes into the other room. "Great master we have found a better choice then the other one. This one is not Sgt Logan but he can heal as well and reginerate limbs." Ah good but would he survive the injections."

"Well no for him to be a super solider he would need to die and upon he awakening would he be lets say more then a man. He will destroy many Americans who dare defy your rule."

James was given enough drugs to knock out a platoon but his dna kept adapting to the drugs and so he still was awake. Until they used some green gas that knocked him out. He woke up later in a pod like body creation and 7 needles injected into him at the same time.
His eye color changed from green to blood red and then too a Blue color finally. The intent was to make a super solider that would feed off the energy off of there enemies.
They figured that an undead creature would be more dangerous then any solider Americans could design.
The problem was that James hid his true form which was a some type of reptile beast. He kept his intelligence in the beast form and was quite brite in this form.

Suddenly he began to change into a Bat monster and his own DNA was being destroyed by this serum. He changed back into his mortal form and then his heart beat stopped and his body went cold.

James Huntley died on this day and 2 hours later he awoken despite the fact that he was still cold and had no pulse.
He easily broke his restraints and stood in confusion. The Commander appeared and spoke. "How does it feel to be born again?" "Before the masked Nazi could move his throat was grabbed by the hand of the dead James Huntley.

"Very angry more or less and very hungry." "That will only pass when you consume energy from people and we intend you be unleashed upon your own friends."
"Tell me something Commander ever heard of free will and seems to me in this base there is enough energy to go around."

James Opens his mouth and his bat form appears and he is inhaling the energy from the commander. A soldier shoots him and he drops the commander. His mask comes off and his skull is red. Two Hours later a door is ripped off its hinges and many German soldiers lay dead. They were skeletons who had been obsorbed of plasma and energy.

"My master what have you done." "He will be not be able to stop feeding and we have only just started to create soldiers that will help me rule this world."
The thing was that Skull never understood about him and Cap neither was that no matter what was done. James always seeked being mortal so was able to keep a small piece of his mother humanity.

James came across a camp like place. In there was children that had been sold to Hydra from many countries. The person who ran that place was named Harlin Grey. James needed to get away from these people but he saw the young women and realized they were to be sold for who knows what purpose.

The young girls were about the age of 14 years old each and, had sacks over there heads and, there ankles were bound.

Even the very unstable mental state James was in he still believed one thing evil is evil and must be defeated.

The door was locked by several locks and Harlin was speaking first in German then Russian. The door was ripped off its hinges locks and all. The door landed on top of the jeep he had arrived in.

"Harlin Grey you are being judges by your crimes against the innocent women of the earth."

The Portly Grey gazed at the opening and James walked in. "Take it easy American I am a secret agent and I am relocating these girls." "I'd like to see there faces if you don't mind, Sir!"

Harlin removed the hoods and, one was a Blonde with blue eyes. One was a red headed Russian girl and, one was a Brunette. The others were mutant female girls that could not hide there mutations.

"Please help us Mr because he has killed 3 of us if we are not sold." "Quiet Emma or I will have to shock you again!" Harlin had some weird Hydra looking stick that didn't resemble anything James had seen before.

Harlins mistake was to turn his back to a mentally challenged recently experimented on soldier.

He picks up a shock stick on the table and jams it in the middle or Harlins back. "Now Mr Grey I do believe you were about to beg for your life!"
"Who ever you are do not listen to these whores.
These mutants make great spies and also they will be hot once have some milage."

"I do think you are mistaken in assuming I am a rational being at this moment in time Sir." James changes into his beast form. "Now Sir do tell me when this hurts because i am curious to know."

James sticks the shock stick up his ass and turns it on full charge and pushes him to the floor. Harlin is burned to a chrisp and screams allot.

James had an idea how to get out of Germany after all and not come back to his unit where he likely would devour them all. He changes back into the form of Harlin Grey.
The form James would keep the rest of his days. "I trust your girls can keep a secret if i help you escape." "Your a Mutant?" "Something like that I suppose.

If we are to be friends in this escape I really do think introductions are in order."

They take a truck but it stalls on them down the road. However just by some strange luck James father was a great Mechanic and Harlin still kept his past lifes memories and skill sets.

Whatever Hydra's hope was It didn't happen. James was obsessed with the idea of a cure for his need for energy and plasma. For some reason the girls were enough of a distraction for him to keep himself what he was.

"Raven come here and give me a hand If you will and you too Cleo." Raven hid her true face by changing into others. In this case she was a blonde haired green eyed girl.

The girls adored him quickly because he did not treat them like freaks or property to be sold away. Raven however never trusted men really and, her feeling about people were very cold and dark.

"Some day Harlin I will make humans fear me. I hate them and hope to cause many humans pain."
"Where were you born Raven?" "I am not really sure, But why does that matter." "I was born in the united states so I am an American. Yes I am a mutant but many i grew up with were not.

You however must try to let your hate go." She leaves him and Cleo finishes fixing the truck. He gets in and drives it. Emma and Natasha road up front with him and the other in the back.

Emma kept trying to use her mind powers on him after he removed her collar. " She tried it again and then he stopped the truck and flung her out the door and into a big mud puddle. ""Do not try and use that crap on my mind."
