I need to apologise to myself for putting this on!

In my defence I wanted something easy to watch with some action while eating my tea but I didn't expect so much cheese that it nearly fell on my plate off the screen......

Anyways avoid at pretty much all costs.

You eat your tea in England? Maybe that's why it never caught on here in the states....

That's more of a local saying. I ment my dinner. For some reason we call lunch, dinner and dinner, tea.... Go figure

As a Scouser, you also say "He was sat down", right?

Well, I guess my mind immediately fixes the sentence, since it's supposed to read,"He is sat."

I would only use "he was sat down" as in he was sat down over there *points somehwere*

I wouldn't use it in current tense.

Vader sometimes makes shrewd observations that belie his online persona. He's our very own Samwise Gamgee.

Case in point:

Battleship could've been outrageously hilarious if they'd taken that route (and it wouldn't have been that big a step from the final product). It probably would've tanked even harder but the people who love it would really love it.

As it is it was part spoof, part straight comedy, part action, part sci-fi, part drama, part adventure, part porn...wait, no porn. That was just when Brooklyn Decker was on screen and I closed my eyes.

There's a scene where they actually play a game of buoy battle(space)ship, casual racism in abundance, people who are real veterans with clearly no acting experience, and, on-board the USS Missouri, the cheesiest segment of any movie I've ever witnessed. Ever.

A small part of me was wondering why these wooden (and, in one case, metal) "actors" were given so much to say and do but most of me was thinking why the hell not, when else is a $200m film going to have the balls/idiocy to do that?

So when the movie ended I was confused at how and why this was proposed, greenlit and produced in such a fashion. I can only assume Peter Berg was taking the piss the whole time.

Whatever the reason, I'm kind of glad it happened.

I haven't seen it, but I think it would've been more interesting if they had just filmed a game of Battleship set to an intense, Hans Zimmer score.

Three more Hasbro properties are headed to the big screen as The LA Times reports that Emmett/Furla Films has signed a deal that will give them the film rights to Action Man, Hungry Hungry Hippos and the long-gestating Monopoly.

Monopoly, which already has a screenplay by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, hopes to shoot sometime next year with Ridley Scott, who was formerly attached as a director, producing.

Hungry Hungry Hippos is planning to go the animated route while plans for Action Man remain unspecified.

The family-friendly nature of all three properties will expand the focus of Emmett/Furla's output which, recently, has been on action thrillers like End of Watch and upcoming projects like Motor City and The Tomb.

I finally got to see this movie. A friend at my Dad's work bought the Blu-Ray and was 'nice' enough to let us watch it. God awful. Dialogue was terrible. Action scenes were incredibly laughable. Despite all the action, I was so bored. So damn goofy. Liam Neeson could not even save this movie.

i'd have to 100% agree. i watched it on hbo a few days ago, found myself actually not hating it, and sort of, wondering why it didn't do better?

It wasn't terrible. I'd put it at a 5/10 for being average, watchable.
