I'm not a fan of Ridley Scott's Alien. And, I haven't seen Alien 3, Resurrection, or the "versus" movies. So, to me, James Cameron's Aliens is the only good one. And as FUN as that film is, the first two Predator movies have enough entertainment value to challenge Cameron's film.

At the end of the day, it comes down to preference. The Predator movies are action films with sci-fi elements. While the Alien movies are science-fiction films with action elements.

I feel Alien is one of those movies that we say now it isn't very suspenseful or scary, but 30 years ago this kinda of movie was considered that , people were used to seeing Aliens in more light hearted movies like E.T and Close Encounters, so seeing a Alien lurk in a spaceship and slowly pick off crew members one by one now doesn't sound very interesting or original, but 30 years ago it was.

In short, i feel Alien isn't a movie that ages that well as opposed to a movie like Jaws, which i still find suspenseful.

Neverending, how old are you? I ask because, growing up you normally don't have that sense of understanding that if someone says a movie is terrible, you won't watch it. If you see a movie you like and find out there's another being made, you'll watch it. I know because I was very young when the other Alien films came out and I saw both. So why have you never seen the other two 'Alien' films? For better or worse, I know lots of people who's seen them...

I didn't see the first two "Alien" films till high school. I was late to the party. And by then, "Alien 3" and "Resurrection" already had a bad reputation. So, I never bothered to watch them. If "Prometheus" ressurects the franchise, I guess I'll check them out.

I absolutely love Arnold's Predator. I have made it known that I love everything Arnold does, and often times give him too much credit. However, I can safely say both Alien and Aliens are better than the first Predator, as well as the second(which I love a lot too). Both Predators are great, and I love them, I own both of them on DVD and Blu Ray. Just don't think the film quality is the same as the Alien series. Which sucks, because the Predator characters are truly incredible to watch. Just lack the story and character drive.

It has already been pointed out that Alien and Aliens are basically monster movies with high-quality production values. The same can be said about Predator 1 & 2. Difference is the Predator films are straight-up action films. So, as I said, it's about preference.

Speaking of which. I'm definitely watching Predator tomorrow. "STICK AROUND!" Love it.

As much as I love that movie, one part of that movie really just, I hate it because it is SO dumb. I mean, the entire film is dumb but my Dad and I always made fun of it.

The part where the Indian guy completely sheds all of his gear to fight the Predator. Sure, there are FAR worse but it always made me laugh. Just felt...so silly to my Dad and me.

The amusing thing about Predator is the very macho `80s cast. And, one by one, the Predator kills them all. Schwarzenegger eventually has to start using his brain in order to defeat it.

It's terrible... David Fincher's only film though that actually is not worth watching it doesn't even feel like a Fincher film at all.

Call me crazy, but watching Predator with friends is a wicked awesome experience. I always thought the older I got, the less I would appreciate Arnold, actually, the opposite. The older I get, the more I love him, and his movies. Sure, none are Oscar winners and he may have one or two actually 'good/great' movies but he is so damn entertaining.

I was nearly in tears after "Knock, Knock." Has way more effect when you're around your friends. We constantly abused that, and 'Stick around' for the rest of the night.
