This I agree with because really i am behind on the movies and dvd tech thing.
I bought 3 dvd players when they were starting to get cheap and have no Blue Ray Player.
My TV is pretty modern and, so i think i am good with the still dvd player and tv that I have now.

never used mine, but i have used other friends' 3d tvs. it isn't anything special, but it is just an added gimmick. if you bought at the right time last year, they were so much cheaper than they are now.

the 3d is certainly not a deal breaker, or deal maker for me, in fact, i didn't even know i bought a 3d tv until i got it as the box was plastered with the 3d ads. it just had the specs i wanted for the price i was willing to pay.

Yeah, i was pretty much the same. Well, I knew it was 3D before I bought it, but that was inconsequential to my decision to buy the TV i bought.

Are you saying that the non-glasses TV they're making can only show 3D discs?

I think that's what he's saying. Hard to tell. The Nintendo 3DS has games in 3D without glasses, but it only works if your eyes are perfectly centered with the screen. That's fine with a handheld game, but I don't see that working with a TV meant for an entire family to enjoy.

It's a step in the right direction.

Well, the Directors Cut rumor continues unabated. Disney insists that it is just a rumor rather than saying that it's not going to happen, which is interesting. Given how much money Disney lost on John Carter, the shareholders are going to want every dime to be wrung out of the films that are successful this year. The argument could even be made that due diligence would require a second bite of the apple, given the clear demand for such a move.
It's hard to say how much money a Directors Cut could bring in. The D.C. of Avatar didn't fare all that well, but it was released after the release of the DVD. I'm unaware of any film of this sort that has received a D.C. theatrical release before home video. It could very well be worth the effort, if only as a test of concept.

FINALLY! I SAW IT! I haven't been able to see it for a lot of reasons, but I finally saw it tonight and it was everything I wanted and more. I'm a pretty huge Whedon fangirl, so this was all sorts of insanely awesome. I'd write an actual review, but I'm pretty sure you guys have said everything that needs to be said by now.

BTW, The Avengers is still in 500 theaters more than three months after the launch date? Is that because of Japan? I seem to recall reading somewhere that they don't get it till this month.

Still my favorite movie of 2012 so far. I've only seen like 15 though.

Well, I've seen dozens of movies this year and I agree with you. Many of the ones I was looking forward to turned out to be less than great to downright awful (I'm looking at you Prometheus).

I saw this again on a bootleg dvd copy(Great quality) and i hadn't seen it since i first saw it opening weekend, while it is a huge difference watching it in your apt alone compared to a huge move theater with a bunch of people, this was about as summer popcorn blockbuster as it gets and it really needs to be appreciated on the big screen , but its s till a damn good movie.

Only problem i have is that Black Widow and Hawkeye compared to the other heroes are pretty lame, yeah sure Scarllett Jo is a pretty sight, but shes pretty ****ty actress and she is by far the weakest link in the group, with Hawkeye coming in a close second, i hope for the sequel they replace both of them two more interesting characters, or in Black Widows case, a better actress.

To be fair, she isn't really given a lot to work with. She's a comic book character.

Let me put it this way, you have a guy who is the god of Thunder, a man with this incredible armor that can do a boatload of things, a super solider ....and a dude with a Bow and Arrow and a chick who i am not sure what her power is.

They both seem out of place.

I was under the impression she had some form of heightened athletic ability. There was also the scene where she somehow gleaned a huge piece of information from virtually nothing--so there's that too, I guess.
