I think I'll go ahead and call that crazy. It's not a masterpiece or anything but there's enough in it of interest to elevate it well above the level of suckage.

I seriously don't get the appeal. It isn't scary and it isn't funny, and the way it sends up the slasher genre is nothing more than pointing out what the cliches are. The acting is bad and the whole thing is really boring.

Also, based on what I've seen (Scream, The Last House on the Left, and A Nightmare on Elm Street), Wes Craven is a vastly overrated filmmaker.

Call me Crazy But I would like to see Ridley Scott do the Predator Remake simply because since he created Alien.

Its fitting he be allowed to Direct A Predator movie. Since those aliens share the same universe apparently.

Heart-wrenching, moving, beautiful, and inspiring. I adore that film to its very core. LOVE it.

Well, pointing out slasher movie cliches is itself cliche at this point, but back in '96 it was still pretty clever and meta to see a mainstream horror movie pointing out its own tropes while committing them. It maybe isn't scary per se, but it does operate as an effective slasher title. That opening scene is well constructed, and the kills are decent throughout the movie. At the very least it's a lot more advanced than the Friday the 13th sequels of the world (seriously, do you know how bad slasher movies can get?). The acting is even good compared to most slasher movies. Granted, these are TV caliber actors, but most horror movie casts seem to be recruited from random people just off the bus, that's even an improvement.

You are right about Wes Craven though, the guy is a two hit wonder.

Completely in agreement. Overall, I like the Scream franchise, except for the 3rd movie.

The world is divided into those who prefer Alien over Aliens and vice versa, anyway. It'd be crazier to pick, say, Alien 3 or an AVP movie.

Let's see the Predator take off its armors, lasers and invisibility cloak and go one-on-one with a xenomorph.

Predator and Predator 2 are so cheesy they have a high entertainment value. So, I'd say both are more fun to watch than Ridley Scott's Alien.

Didn't Cameron do Predator. A question are Xenomorphs males or are they like Ants.

No. John McTiernan (Die Hard) did Predator. And Aliens are like ant drones.

My problem is they don't actually explore the cliches at all though. They just point them out. If they had done something with them, i would have been satisfied.

The opening scene is actually pretty solid. As for the kills, I don't know, they were alright I guess.

You got me there. I haven't seen too many slasher films, apart from Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

How is the Alien films(the good ones at least) even compare to the Predator films? Not even a contest.
