Thought the first half was awful!
Second half picked up and Torres should have won the game and pocketed me £50! :-( |

Really good quality of games so far. England will undoubtedly put an end to that tomorrow.

i'd like a smaller nation to win, maybe one that hasn't ever won before. hell i'd take england winning.
mario gomez's perfect hair bothers me though.

He's had control of the ball for 22 seconds over two games and has 3 goals to his name. Impressive stats!
He's also a George McFly lookalike. |

Well whaddya know.
Danny Welbeck, I salute you sir! (And Carroll, and Walcott, and Gerrard and...etc, etc.) Rooney back for the 3rd game, if we can top our group the semis seems like an attainable goal. Quietly confident. |

1-0.
That was a little too close for comfort, Spain. At least we took the top spot and made it through. |

I'm surprised and ecstatic that England managed to top our group comfortably in the end, setting up a quarter-final with Italy. We'll just have to give Spain a good beating a little further down the line...

Sweden beat France? Fantastic. There's nothing better than watching the French lose, especially after their ridiculous behavior during the last World Cup. I used to like them all right--with Zidane, Ribery and Henry--but now they're just a disaster of a team.
I'm happy for England, but I can't see them getting past Italy....though I'd be happy to see them give the Italians a beating. Rooney is back, right? |

Yeah, he returned tonight. Looked a little off the pace in terms of match fitness but he had some decent touches and scored the winning goal so all-in-all a welcome return.
You've got the French next game, they'll be on a massive low after being outplayed tonight. I hope you give them a stuffing. |

It's gonna be close, and I can't see it being a very expansive game. I just hope it's over before it gets to penalties...

Man, the French were bad. And Spain proved again that a having a striker on the pitch isn't even necessary.

They weren't great, then again neither was Spain; certainly not at 100%. The French looked scared to attack, it ended up costing them the game. I know I'll sound like I'm making excuses, but not having Puyol and Villa is really hurting the Spanish.
I'm actually really excited about England/Italy. I'd love to see the English pummel the Italians. Last edited by Justin; 06-24-2012 at 11:43 AM. |
