i don't understand how they survive as a pure cable provider, need to bundle that internet.
i was a late comer to the hdtv stuff, so i do have a 3d tv just because i waited so long to pull the trigger. don't think i've ever used it though. not even for video games.

Kable Town doesn't own Univision, Doomsday. It owns Telemundo.

I've not finished paying off my TV. It wasn't actually all that expencive. It was something like £300-£350 down from £890 or something.
Once it's paid off we might upgrade the BluRay player and get some glasses. I'm not a fan of 3D movies so I'll see what happens. |

It's a fad if we let it be one.

It is a fad, but most higher end TVs are 3D capable anyways. So decided to just pay the extra 20-30 bucks or whatever it was and get the 3D bluray player. Though I only used to to watch Avatar 3D.

I hate to break it to you guys, but there's no stopping 3D at this point.
Back in February, China signed a new movie import deal with the US. Under the new arrangement, the US can now import 34 movies per year (up from only 20 before) and keep 25% of the box office (up from only 15% before). This new set up is conditional in that all 34 movies must be "premium format films", as in CGI laden, 3-D or IMAX visual extravaganzas. If it's not 3D or IMAX, it doesn't get into China. Even at only 25% of the take, in a market that big, Hollywood isn't going to allow 3D to die as a fad. There's too much money to lose. I hate 3D just as much as the next guy, but it's here to stay. |

I thought we were talking about 3D TVs. Please tell me that won't be the norm soon.

I honestly don't care about 3D TVs, since its very optional whether or not to use it. Its not like a 3D tv can only be used to watch in 3D.

Yeah, I'm with Ianthecool. People watch standard-definition shows on Hi-definition TVs all the time. Eventually, people will watch 2D shows on 3D TVs. I don't think anyone even makes standard def TVs anymore. Before long, they'll stop making 2D TVs, and we'll just watch our 2D movies on a 3D capable TV without the stupid glasses.

3D Move theaters but 3D tv's sounds ridiculous to me. That small of an image at home... Unless you have a 100 IN projector that's 3D at home it's pointless...

Have you seen those 3D TV displays at Best Buy? They're not too bad.

Actually from what I've seen in shops, 3D TVs work better than 3D cinema for me. I just don't think I'll ever wear glasses to watch a movie in my livingroom.

I'd rather have a super nice LED tv, than a stupid 3D tv. I know, technically they're the same thing but the added 'benefit' of 3D will run you an extra 200-600 dollars more. No, thank you.
