Psyk - I thought it was pretty strongly hinted in the books that Stannis has sex with Mellisandre. Don't they say she sleeps in his tent. And theres always the scene with Davos under Storm's End...

Oh, I must have missed the hints for some reason (or just forgotten). I didn't know she needed to have sex with a person in order to give birth to a shadow version of that person.

Just finished the second episode. I don't remember a show ever flying by so quickly, 50 minutes come and go in what feels like seconds.

I was in the US last week and Showtime showed all 10 episodes of season 1 back-to-back, and there were definitely scenes in there that I hadn't seen before. Were they extended versions or was that how it was originally shown in the America?

I don't remember any new scenes, but there were a lot of little things I noticed the second time around. Not because they were new, but because I was so engrossed in the episodes the first time around that on subsequent viewings, I was able to take in more of the little details.

They might have edited a few things out in the UK. The Game of Thrones shown in my country is heavily edited.

I thought that at first but I downloaded a lot of last season's episodes from US TV so they should all be unedited.

It must just be as Jibbs and Frizzo say: registering new things with each viewing.

1) I don't like the additional scenes with Ros (Roz?). I don't care for her point of view.
2) Did winter come early? Maester Pycelle has already received the white ravens to mark the end of summer?

i guess i really don't hate roz as much as everyone else... and it gives an interesting angle not in the book (in my opinion).

and... book spoiler: they have to establish littlefinger's motivation, at least give a reason for his actions later on. it is still a mystery in the books really.

I don't hate Roz, but I just think it's a pointless addition. I was hoping when she was carted away in Season 1, she'd never appear ever again. She seems to be showing up in the series just to show her bits.

I have decided I am done watching this show until I read all the books. I watched season 1, then read Game of Thrones and was impressed with how much made it into the show without too much deviation or character difference. I want to proceed with the books and then the show.
