Sorry this took so long to get up. BTW congrats Shained

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

This is one of those classic films that seems to have escaped my childhood. I have seen bits and pieces on tv throughout the years, but I have never had the chance to watch the whole thing. I have to say that after watching it, it still holds up over 50 years later. Sure some of the dialog is corny, the score is dated, and some of the special effects look cheesy, but overall it is still a damn good movie. The giant squid fight is still pretty intense, and the acting is solid. I really liked James Mason's portrayal of Captain Nemo. Kirk Douglas also did a fine job in the lead role. If there was anything I would complain about, its the amount of singing that Kirk Douglas does. I feel like it detracts from the serious tone of the film. Overall, I am really glad that I got to see this. Though it is certainly not perfect, and is dated in a lot of ways, it is still a classic that people should see.

It's hard to give a score for something like this, but based on my gut reaction:
8/10

ROUND 111

moviebuff801 - HOLLYWOOD
morpheus1987 - PG Cooper
Dracula - Doomsday
JBond - shained

(Once again proving that longer names seem to get chosen first because of the size of the paper on which I randomly draw them.)

The due date for Round 111 will be Monday, April 2nd, 2012.

Enjoy.

For future reference: I've seen Forbidden Games and Netflix doesn't have Three Outlaw Samurai yet, so I probably won't be picking it any time soon.

Just finished MMMM. Think I'll let it sink inn before attempting a review of sorts.

The ending has left me a bit blank to be honest.
