there are reports that the bills contacted Shanny.... wierd to see them moving so quick, and after a guy that could be expensive.

Shanny wouldn't want a team like that. It's in too much disarray I think. Then again, so is Washington (who just beat us by the way) so who knows.

the joke right now is that he is using buffalo as leverage to raise his salary when he accepts the job in dallas.

I asked for these earlier. Another reason why I think paying people in mid season is a bad bad idea. Not sure if it would make a difference. Here are the stats for Jay Cutler since his extension on October 21st.

Jay Cutler

Record: 1-3

TD/INT: 6-10

PCT: 61.2%

Sacks: 9

QB Rating: 65.7

Not as bad as I originally thought. It's possible he's just going through a dry spell. I thought it was worse. Still bad but whatever.

I don't think extentions on QBs affect their play. it would be different if it were a tackle or someone on defense. But QB, no. QBs are under a microscope. When they have a bad game, everyone is going to know about it.

it's gotta have some effect though. Maybe i'm on my own on this but if your an older, established player, then an extension won't affect your caliber of play. When your a younger player like Cutler, I think it has some negative effect.

I'm not sure about that. It seemed like it was more about a lack of confidence in his defense.

I don't see how that makes any sense. If anything, it would be an older player, established player that would dog it after an extension. Not a younger player. At least that is how it USUALLY happens in the NFL.
