Oh yeah, I'd love to see a Superman film with Glen Winter directing (directed episodes like Traveler, Committed, Legion and last week's Idol) and either the show runners themselves Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson writing or Geoff Johns stepping in to fill the spot. I really have no idea what the average budget of an episode is, but I bet they could churn out a really great, epic-looking Superman film for far less than whatever Superman Returns' budget was (something like $150 million if I'm not mistaken, prior to marketing and subtracting the costs of previous attempts at a film). I bet the average budget is only a couple of million at most, and they've done wonders with that limit this year.

Completely agree. Some of the CG this year is the best I've seen on the show. Hmm, I really hope they can create some kind of Smallville movie. I mean you really wouldn't have to link it to Smallville for all those haters, simply explain some of the back stuff. I think it would be fantastic. IDK, it's going to be a while before another Superman movie is made.

During the break this year, since it's an extra long one, I'll be posting my list of the top 25 moments in the show. I've been working on it for a while, but I've had to make some revisions because of Season 9 (more than I thought I would, to be quite honest). After this week's Pandora, the list will be re-written if necessary and then I'll start posting one a day or every couple of days. Anybody else want to throw down their own so we can compare? I'd be curious to see what you guys come up with.

I'll do like Top 5. Top 25 is a huge stretch for me being that I'm still missing 5, 6 and 7.

If you don't want to click the link, it only mentions two things:

1. The episodes Society and Legends, which were previously announced as being two halves of a Smallville 'double feature', have now been combined into one super episode/movie called Smallville: Absolute Justice. Personally, I'm not a fan of the title as it goes against the one-word titles the show has been utilizing since the pilot... and it just sounds kind of dumb.

2. The movie was pushed back a week from January 29th to February 5th.
I don't mind that it's 2 words coz it's 2 episodes really.

I don't know about you guys, but tonight is the episode I've really been looking forward to. All season long the producers have been saying that Pandora is going to feel like a season finale; I hope they're right.

Yeah from that clip I watched it looks like Lois knows about Clark. I'm not sure, it's just the way they acted.

Oh and btw I really want to do a Mystery Science Theater 3000 of one Smallville episode that is particularly bad. Basically just take clips of them saying stuff from old episodes and Riff Trax and insert them. It would be pretty fun. Not to mention in a couple of Smallville episodes it's rather easy to make fun of.

Isn't it technically a season finale of sorts? With Absolute Justice being labeled as a "movie", what else is there? Wasn't this supposed to be a mini-season or did they finally expand? Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Just to clarify, were you under the impression we were getting a shortened season? If that's the case, we're not. This is a full 22-episode season, it always has been. Tonight's episode is the final episode for 2009; the show will return some time in January as usual. When it comes back, there will be a regular one-hour episode, followed by the "movie," then the rest of the season will air in whatever fashion they decide this year.

Also, new interview (warning, spoilers, but nothing we didn't already know): http://www.tvguidemagazine.com/small...on-1-3312.html

A new tidbit about episode 18 from Ausiello: Metallo is returning!

Also, a re-ordering of the episode schedule:

910 Disciple - 1/22
911 Warrior - 1/29
912 Society / 913 Legends / Smallville: Absolute Justice - 2/5
914 Hubris - 2/12
915 Conspiracy - 2/19

PANDORA

Pros:
  • Lois's memories of the future were very well done - the sight of the torn Blur costume (an obvious homage to the iconic Death of Superman image), her reunion with Clark and the brief explanation of what was going on, her confrontation with Tess and Zod, Chloe and Oliver as freedom fighters, Clark and Lois together ("Lois, I died when you left.") and their plan to take down the tower and Zod
  • Callum Blue's acting, fantastic as always; he really was the perfect casting for the role
  • I really enjoyed the alternate endings for the characters - Tess's death in Oliver's arms, Alia killing Chloe, Oliver facing death as the Arrow and taking it head on and Zod stabbing Clark
  • Lois and Clark are a couple; I'm excited
  • Clark's approach to Zod should make for an interesting second half of the season
  • Stuart being shot, was never all that wild about him, honestly would have preferred a death

Cons:
  • The sheer amount of commercials - good lord; I'll have to check the file when I download it, but it just did not feel like a normal 42 minute episode
  • A little ironic that Tess spoke about boundaries after she had Lois abducted, hooked her up to some mental monitors and then 'watched' her memories

To be honest, I expected more. I thought it was good, but maybe I had too high of expectations. I think the problem was that because we saw glimpses of the visions so much, it was pretty easy to make decent connections to everything going on. Because of that, I felt like I had already seen about 80% of the episode. The other 20% was pretty good though... except for the stuff with Tess and Stuart. So... 10% then.

Smallville finishes off 2009 on a high note. Let's hope it stays that way. Let's not forget what happened last season.

Oh, okay. I remember last season the rumors were for this one to be shortened.

So was this the fall finale? Is there a site that lists fall finales?

I really liked this episoe and Clark and Lois a couple, FINALLY! I didn't like the end part. I like what Clark was aiming for, befriend rather than create an enemy. But the kneel before Kal-El was not what I was looking for. IDK, I guess I have to get use to the fact that this isn't really going to play on the comics and what I know of Superman. Still really freaking awesome. I really loved how Olly went out near the end of the episode.

I'm still a little confused as to why the Kandorians have powers under a red sun. Did being radiated in blue kryptonite affect their genetic structure that way? Because it's not like they had powers under Krypton's red sun.

And for that matter, why was Alia able to super speed toward Lois's ring after the sun turned yellow? Was Alia on Earth before the Kandorians arrived or something (thus, making her like Clark in that she has powers under a yellow sun, but not a red one)?

It looks like one of those plotholes that'll never be answered.

Still, really good episode though, just saw it myself.

Ya, I guess they were going for an alternate thing like in one of the comics where Zod is the son of Russian cosmonauts and his powers come from the Red Sun light due to kryptonite radiation at birth. So he builds this suit that filters the sunlight to a red sun light vs the standard yellow to have powers just like Superman.
