Excellent list!

Those are all great films... (not sure about Gandhi and The Lord of the Rings).

but the list I was aiming more toward bad ass man movies. Like super macho kick ass characters (I guess in that case Caddyshack and several others don't really belong).

And on the Caddyshack note... I guess the reason I love that movie is because I grew up on a golf course as a caddie and now a golfer... so I relate to a lot of that movie... I'd probably see it in a different light if that wasn't the case.

To me, caddyshack should have been more, considering the talent that was in the cast. I don't think the movie as a whole just worked. I think it is only a classic just because of the cast, and the movie in general just didn't live up to the hype.

There's over twenty films on that list that I've never seen.

definite guy movies! lol
Are you kidding me? I've seen The Sound of Music at least a hundred times growing up. I even own the collector's edition on DVD right now. It's a near masterpiece.

Don't knock it!

To be fair though, Bill Murray was a bright spot in Caddyshack. But I still don't like it that much.

If we're going GUY guy movies, just off the top of my head:

Commando
Predator
The Getaway
Bloodsport
Under Siege
Tombstone

Good movie list, Doomsday. I love Tombstone, Commando and Predator. I just actually watched Under Seige.

Dirty Harry
Die Hard 1 and 2
Fast and Furious
The Longest Yard
Predator
Commando

That's pretty harsh... what do you not like about that movie?

The newer one with Adam Sandler in it. Saw the old one awhile ago and it wasn't very memorable.

I'm not against it, but I don't think its that great. The ending is pretty dumb, and I thought a lot of t was really gimicky. I don't think its a bad film, just very over-rated. Its probably one of the 3 most over-rated films ever, along with Scarface and full metal jacket.

"ending is pretty dumb" well that really explains it. I think its a perfect ending for the film. The narrator realizes he is Tyler, he realizes all the chaos he created, all the insurance companies are leveled, the narrator shoots himself in the mouth... how epic is that?

Not really sure which parts you would consider "gimicky"... When I first watched and still to this day I see the movie to be a very original film. A lot of the things we see in the movie ie porn frames in movies, pissing in food, etc is all based on real things that happened to the author or people he knew.

And when you say Scarface and Full Metal Jacket are overrated... well I really can't take anything you say further seriously.

umm... have you seen Scarface or Full Metal Jacket? Scarface is 3 hours of Al Pacino yelling semi-coherently, occasionally interrupted by gunfire. I realize the movie is about more than just violence, but it was incredibly uninteresting, especially at that length. and I'm a big fan of gangster movies. Full Metal Jacket, after Private Pyle's big display, the rest of the movie seems pretty anti-climactic.

I never saw Scarface, but I'd have to agree that Full Metal Jacket isn't that special.
