View Full Version : Obituary - what dead actors do you most miss?

There have been a number of actors that, when I heard of their deaths, I was truely sad. Some had great and long careers and had died before I ever started watching films, others were the people I grew up with and I miss them like old friends, some were just cut off too damn soon for my liking.
Peter Sellers - damn that man was funny, saddly the Pink Panther will never strike again
Oliver Reed - when he was good he was great!
Peter Cushing - end of an era, one of my saddest losses :(
Richard Harris - another classic
Marty Feldman - very sadly missed - "Eygor!" "Froderick!" *sigh*
Jimmy Stewart - just something about the films he made
Roddy McDowall - Galen!
Errol Flyn - the one and only original Swashbuckler
Lon Chaney Jnr - a man prepared to truely suffer for his art
Sir Alec Guinness - NOT just a Jedi by a long shot!
Sir Laurence Olivier - The actors actor
Buster Keaton - one of the greats of comedy
Peter Lorre - that voice! That voice!
Vincent Price - That voice! That voice!
Hmmm, just realised that my list is pretty heavily weighted to Brit thesps and ALL male - balance things up a bit and add your own list. Just don't forget the Greats ok?

I miss all the one's that died young because they never got to do their greatest work. It's sad when one of the greats die, but at least they had a full career, and we have all their great roles to remember them by. When someone dies young, it just leaves you sad for the senseless nature of it, and for what might have been.
