Looking at all the post I am surprized there is not an ALIAS thread. So here it is.
Alias IMHO has got to be one the best shows on TV right now. The writing is good and the each show just keeps you wanting to watch the next. And now with the mother thrown in I can't wait to see whats coming next.
Any other Alias fans out there.

Ok for people who actually watch the show. Isn't Jack just a complete dick doing what he did to Sydney. He must have so much hate for Sydney's mother that he would possibly risk his daughters life just to prove a point.
I know there must be some kind of agenda that Sydney's mother is working from but, what Jack did was just wrong.
And whats up with Emily Sloan, is she still alive or is someone else doing this? Personally I think she still alive.

I think I might be right that Emily is still alive. After seeing Sunday's episode everything is getting more interesting.

I missed the first half of Sunday's episode so I was kind of lost. Oh yeah, now I remember. I don't think Emily is still alive. I think Sloane realized that she was still alive when they buried her, but there's no way that she could still be alive. But I could be wrong b/c there was that call from the bed and breakfast place. So, I guess I'll have to watch and see.

Not if you had a 9mm revolver. I love the show as well, I never got round to watching it when season 1 was aired over here on Satelite TV but since they are showing it on Channel 4 I have been hooked. Jennifer Garner is beautiful.

As Irina's trial nears, Sloane informs Sydney that Richter was infected by an Ebola-like virus that Sark has developed. Sark is studying three infected patients in a private Geneva hospital which Jack and Sydney, posing as a wealthy Southern patient and his daughter, must infiltrate to acquire the research.
Jack explains to Sydney that he never intended her to be a spy, that he only tested Project Christmas on her so she could be strong in a dangerous environment — but Sloane got to her before he did. She's dubious and is further angered when Irina pleads guilty and is sentenced to die in three days. Sydney, hoping to halt Irina's execution, writes Devlin a letter stating that Jack has deceived the the CIA.
Later, Vaughn explains to Devlin that he's found Soviet standardized test from the 80s, similar to our own. He believes that Irina stole Jack's research and there may be Soviet sleeper cells here in the U.S. Devlin is doubtful. Vaughn hires Will as a freelancer to look into this issue.
On the plane to Geneva, Jack, who's aware of Sydney's letter, says that Irina's plea was a ploy to get Syd's sympathy. Syd says that her birth is his biggest mistake — it represents his gullibility. They arrive at the hospital incognito — on the operating table, Jack gasses the doctors as Sydney downloads the research and extracts blood from a dying patient, who says the name Irina. Creating an explosion by mixing ammonia with iodine in a centrifuge, they escape to a helicopter on the roof. Jack explains that Irina had ordered Sark to infect her own operatives use them as a test group.
Back in L.A., Sark tells Jack that the mysterious wine was laced with VTX, a compound the counteracts the effects of sodium morphate — meaning Emily is alive or a rival wants the Alliance to think that Emily is alive and that Sloane is a rogue. Later, Sloane enters a church, believing he sees Emily. Jack says he suffering from guilt and says there's a way to put this issue to rest. Later Sloane disinters Emily's remains — her coffin is empty!
Sydney and Vaughn are ordered into quarantine because the strange device they'd seen in Taipei has been found to be the source of the virus. After a worrisome night together awaiting test results, Sydney is found to be negative but Vaughn's tests are less clear.
Syd watches on closed circuit TV as Jack tells Senator Douglas during his inquiry that he loves Sydney despite his limitations as a father. Still, Jack will go to jail and Irina will be executed the next day. Sydney commandeers Douglas' limo and forces him to reverse the charges against both Jack and Irina by telling him that a Senator is working for The Alliance and she'll turn her evidence over to the FBI if he doesn't cooperate. It's a lie, but it works.
Meanwhile, Vaughn exibits bleeding fingernails, a symptom of Sark's virus.

And my personal comments from it.
The post stated that Sloane thought he saw Emily. But that as an audience we saw Emily looking back at him from across the street, then we see her going around the corner and disappear.
I think she is alive or someone is driving Sloane crazy because finding the coffin empty sure was upsetting to Sloane.
The show ended with them bringing back Irina back to CIA and then cut to Vaughn shaving and him noticing the blood under his fingernails which is the first sign if you have the virus.
The previews for next week say Sydney has to kill someone who is the most deadliest person she knows to get the cure. They kept showing Sloane but I think its going to be someone else like Sark or Casanoff. But it look like a good episode.

Thanks Oxide. It looks like I missed possibly the best episode yet! What a night to miss!...Jack went to jail, Irina pleads guilty, Vaughn gets Sark's virus, and Sloan finds Emily's coffin empty. This show is full of surprises! But good news for me...my friend taped Alias and she's gonna let see it. After reading what happened, I have to see it.

Anyone who just watches a few episodes will agree how good this show is. IMHO this has got to be the best show on TV right now.

Not at all. Nikita was forced to be a spy against her will. Alias, is entirely different. Jennifer Garner's character, Sydney, was recruited not knowing the reasons why other than she fit a profile. You came to find out that her father was secretly training her without her knowing it. Sydney at first believe she was actually working for the CIA under a black ops division, until she found the truth and became a double agaent to bring down the organization and her father just happens to be a double agent too. Now her mother is envolved which somehow holds the keep to centuries old profacey.
Nikita, LaFemme Nikita, never went into anything that deep.

But the best part of the episode. Marshall made me proud. Once they started to threaten his mother I thought, thats it he is going to give in. But in the end he was going to take one for the team. Just make me proud.

I have to say how great tonight's episode of Alias was! I've never seen a better episode. It truly deserved to follow the Superbowl. I thought it was great how Syd started out the episode modeling Victoria's Secret:D in the plane. Then as soon as that dude shot at her they started the credits and left me in suspense. But at least they went back to it, and I really liked the plane crashing. It kind of reminded me of Die Another Day. And I can't believe that Sloane new that Jack and Syd were double agents the whole time. I did not see that coming. I really thought that Jack was a goner towards the end there until the CIA ambushed SD-6. I'm glad that Syd and Vaugn finally hooked up. I'm also baffled that Will and the other girl sort of hooked up. But what really surprised me was the very end. Anybody know what Phase 2 is? And Syd's room mate is dead, so who was her "twin"? And why did Dixon tell Syd not to talk to him? He should be thanking her, but I guess he's upset that Syd never told him before that he was working for SD-6.

I watched 2 eps of Alias tonight... it was shown on Can TV during the Superbowl... the new one that was shown tonight and the one prior to it (in the order of the prior one, then the new one) and all I can say is ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.
This show didn't impress me one bit. The action was okay... nothing special and the dialogue was uninteresting... Jennifer is pretty hot, but Jessica Alba was 10X hotter then her.
I can't really see how people flock to this show, outside of it being hyped...
The stuff on Buffy is 10X better IMO and it doing decent rating and no recognition from awards. But I guess it happens look at shows like Action and geeks and Freaks... classic shows that never caught on...
BlakeAE77
01-27-2003, 10:01 PM
Sunday night's episode was the most action-packed they've ever had. It was anything but boring....the airplane scene, the SD-6 ambush....very action-packed. But I guess you have to be a big fan of Alias to really appreciate the show. When I first started watching it I didn't find it boring, but I did find it confusing. It took me a few episodes to even start to understand it. After Sunday night's episode I'm left very confused. But I guess everyone has a different taste in shows. Like me, I've never been a big Buffy fan or a Dark Angel fan. Though I have watched a few episodes of each show and thought they were very entertaining.

I couldn't belive how awsome Sunday nights Alias was. I faithfully watch the show on the Canadian netwok CTV, so I also got to see last weeks episode (where we find out Emily is still alive) and the new one. I couln't belive that they finally brought down SD-6, even though Sloane is still out there. Not to mention the ending, Sydney's friend Francy is dead, I couldn't even believe my eyes. I love episodes like that sooooooo much but I heard they were going to change the way Alias is made. They're planning to make each episode more selfcontained as oppssed to the cliffhanger a week endings we're used to. I don't like this idea, I think the show is great the way it is. What does everyone else think?
BlakeAE77
01-28-2003, 02:54 PM
I think they should keep the show the way it is. I love the cliffhangers. That's what gets me to tune in the next week. Cliffhanger defines Alias. But on the otherhand, It bothers me when I'm so into an episode and at the most supenseful part the episode ends. I hate having to wait a week or two to find out what happens. I think it'd be great if every episode was like Sunday night's....mission complete but a twist at the end. But either way i would still watch it.

Here's a sneak preview of what Alias is about on Sunday (just in case you're wondering):
Sun., Feb. 2 - "A Free Agent"
Sydney must make a life-defining decision regarding her future with the agency, while Sloane re-emerges and continues his obsessive quest to piece together the mysterious Rambaldi artifacts - with the reluctant aid of a kidnapped scientist (Christian Slater, "Broken Arrow," "True Romance"). Meanwhile, Dixon's marriage is put to the test after he tells his wife the truth about his occupation, and Sydney's graduate school graduation is bittersweet.

I thought it was an excellent episode too. There's never a dull moment in Alias. I thought the whole look-alike plot was good. And I thought it was kind of sad how that agent died at the beginning. But yeah it's great to finally see Vaughn and Syd together. Although I do think the roommate clone is kind of a perv. It looked like she was enjoying watching them two together at the end. And I've missed seeing Irina Derevko in the episodes but I think she'll be in next week's. And where was Will this episode? I guess they can't have everybody in every episode.

I hope Will will find out that Francie is bad soon. I know Sydney's starting to suspect something. I can't wait until the episode where Syd and Francie face off. It will be good. I can't believe that Dixon shot Emily. I know it's not his fault but that's just going to make Sloane want to take revenge on Syd (because from what I saw when Sydney ran to Emily at the end, it looks like Sloane thinks that Syd is the one that shot Emily). But Emily was stupid for showing Sloane the wire. But the episode in two weeks doesn't look all that wonderful from the previews, but Alias has a way of surprising me.

I realized what the message on the paper said "Truth Takes Time", same as the episode title. Is it just me or does anyone else get the feeling that Irina has not really been lying the whole time and she's still a good guy, I think she's pretending to be in with Sloane so that she can nail him (this message was a way of letting Sydney know). Just a thought, it could be some other truth about Syd's life that's yet to come out. What does everyone else think?
BlakeAE77
03-18-2003, 03:26 PM
Wow! That makes complete sense. I hadn't even thought about it like that. When I saw what the message said I was confused by it, but I just dismissed it and forgot about it. But now you bring a very interesting point. I hope that's the way it turns out.

Tonight's episode was ok. I don't think it was a strong enough episode to rebound with after the month-long absence. I was expecting it to be great like the ep after the superbowl. But hey, it had character and didn't take away from the story-line. I really liked when Sydney turned all "Elektra" on that assassin. Anyways, next weeks ep looks amazing! A 2 hour season finale! I love long season finales.

Yeah, I was like "What is Elektra doing in Alias???"

The two hour next week is gonna be amazing ... I can feel it! "Second Double", I wonder who the second double will be??? I have a sneaking suspicion that it's gonna be Syd that they copy this time.
BlakeAE77
04-28-2003, 05:40 PM
I don't think it's about another double. I think it's about Francie setting Will up for something he didn't do. And about Irina's real motives. I think she's pretending to be working with Sloane...we'll wait and see.
Season finale discription....
Alias wraps up with a special, two-part season finale. In part one of the two-hour broadcast — Second Double — Sydney begins to question Will's identity when he's arrested for espionage, under suspicion of being a double. Meanwhile Sark and Irina plot to recover the Rambaldi heart, and Sloane makes Jack a business proposal. In part two — The Telling Sydney finally confronts her mother, who reveals her true motivation. Sloane, for his part, begins to execute his new grand plan, Will struggles to figure out who's behind his set-up, and Marshall finds love.

OK did anyone else see that!!! It was amazing. I mean, I never expected it to have that many twists and turns. The whole deal with Syd's mom trying to help her and with Francy nearly killing Will that was amazing enough ... but the ending blew me away!!! I can hardly wait for next season, I have a feeling that it's gonna be the best so far.

WTF! Two years, where has she been? and H@ly ***** that was the best fight scene ever.
SubJumbled
05-05-2003, 10:40 AM
I completely agree. The action scenes in these two episodes were the best i have seen so far, especiallt the fight between Syd and Francy's copy. I don't know where she could have been for the last two years ... it doesn't make any sence. Is it possible that someone kidnapped her from the house when she was unconcious and kept her that way for two years? I dunno. It's also possible that Sloanes Rambaldi device, "The Telling", had something to do with it ... was there any mention of what the device does when Sloane was talking to Jack?
BlakeAE77
05-05-2003, 01:37 PM
It was an amazing two hours of Alias. I was on the edge the entire time biting my fingernails. That last fight scene between Syd and Francy was awesome. And the whole ending thing where she woke up in Hong Kong and was missing for three years was definately a twist. I think it has something to do with the Rambaldi device. Maybe Sloane has her under some sort of mind control game.
SubJumbled
05-06-2003, 08:37 AM
Yeah, I think the Rambaldi device has something to do with it. You could be right ... maybe Sloane has Sydney under some kind of mind control. I think the season premiere is going to be amazing next year, I can hardly wait. I wonder how much things have changed if she actually has been missing for two or three years. Sloane did say, while he was talking to Jack, that the world was about to change ... maybe it's an enitrely different place now? ... maybe Sloane rules the world? ... who knows, it wouldn't be the first crazy twist the show has thrown at us!
BlakeAE77
05-06-2003, 02:40 PM
I was thinking that too. Maybe it will be up to Sydney to destroy the Rambaldi device in order to put the world back the way it was. OH!! Remember when Irina told Sydney that she was the chosen one to fulfill the prophecy...maybe if Sydney had the Rambaldi device in her possession, she could have the power to turn back time to the moment before the device was complete and destroy it...perhaps
KayTang999
05-06-2003, 07:18 PM
Sound like you guys are talking about time machine. But that is so sci-fi.
It is hard to guess about anything on this show now.
BlakeAE77
05-06-2003, 07:51 PM
I know, it's probably too sci-fi for Alias. But I really think the whole 2-year absence has something to do with the Ramaldi device and the fact that Sydney was the one chosen to fulfill the prophecy.
KayTang999
05-06-2003, 08:00 PM
Wait, was she choosen to fulfill or to stop Sloane???
BlakeAE77
05-06-2003, 09:27 PM
I can't really remember...she was chosen to do something important having to do with the prophecy. That helps, huh?

05-06-2003, 11:44 PM
ok i looked this up , and JJ will probably be able to explain this next season so i'll post the Prophecy:
This woman here depicted will possess unseen marks. Signs that she will be the one to bring forth my works. Bind them with fury. A burning anger, unless prevented. At vulgar cost, this woman will render the greatest power unto utter desolation. This woman, without pretense, will have had her effect, never having seen the beauty of my sky behind Mt. Subasio. Perhaps a single glance would have quelled her fire
now, syd, saw the sky of Mt.Subasio in season 1, how can she still be part of the prophecy, or is her mom just lying again?
god i love this show

See, that's what I love about this show. No one knows what the answers are or what is going to happen. It's completely unpredictable. It really gets the fans thinking, and drives them crazy in the process. Especially the process of having to wait until the next season to know what happens.

This woman, without pretense, will have had her effect, never having seen the beauty of my sky behind Mt. Subasio. <--------- As far as prophecy is concerned, we have no proof that Syd actually saw this. Maybe she didn't think it was beautiful. Maybe the beauty of my sky behind Mt Subasio is a painting? Why did he say 'his' sky? Is it in reference to one of his creations? A lot of factors aren't being weighed-in here IMO. Nonetheless... great show. A pity I have to wait so long for season 3.

I'm hoping that in two years, Sark and Irina are still working together, and Sloane is nowhere near them. LOL, in fact if he's become so obssessed with Rambaldi that he's disassociated with most of the characters. I really hated how Sark was working for him. Oh, and Sydney should definately stop chasing Sloane. That plotline has gotten so tired. That's why I'm looking forward to Alias skipping two years ahead. Hopefully, the show will concentrate more on the spyworld once again.
The preimere airs Sunday, September 28th.

I also agree that Jennifer Garner is not a man!
I recently got the Season 1 DVD and it's awesome. Watching the premiere, I realized I hadn't seen it since it's original airing two years ago.

Yeah, I read a bunch of spoilers in last week's tv guide. We are in for a treat. Here are a few if you're interested...SPOILER WARNING....Vaugn has moved on to British diplomat Laura Reed who appeared in the show's second episode, and apparently she'll be on the show long term. In the opening minutes to the season premiere Sydney delivers a major butt kicking to Vaugn...literally (there's some sort of strangling invovled). Umm, Francie's double and Will are still alive and will appear again in the season. Jack is no longer CIA, and Dixon has been promoted to director of the agency. I have a few more, but this is enough for now.
KayTang999
09-15-2003, 05:09 PM
I would do that to Vaughn too if I were Sydney.

What the...? What a freak. This is the television forum, and this is an Alias thread. Clearly, you're not too bright. And yes, I would love to see Sydney Bristow kick James Bond's butt. BTW, Bond only has one 'D' and Alias is the name of the show, not the name of a person. Yeah I finally found a great Alias AV. thanks! :D
have you seen the Emmys last night?
what a disaster!
Man was I dissappointed with the Emmys.
First time we get to see it over here LIVE and then a show like that
the network that was broadcasting it over here also seemed to have a problem boosting the signal, cause the sound was almost inaudible, but when the commercials kicked in I was deaf for about a minute....
And then after twenty minutes the first sighting of JG. and she looked so amazing. as did Lena Olin (why didn't she win???). And Victor Garber was so cute when JG was filmed as a nominee he was grinning from ear to ear! Those two are just so sweet together. Their time presenting was way to short!
anyway a shame that JG didn't win. Edie Falco won like the third time in a row or something....
about JG dress. I thought it looked better while she was sitting down, when she walked in with Victor Garber I was a bit dissappointed with the dress...but hey nothing can make her look horrible. as always she looked gorgeous. and she was so cute reacting to her being filmed in such an embarrassed way...I just LOVE that lady!

"You know that Lasse would never tolerate a diva on his set," she said.
Why was this power couple from the world of motion pictures lighting up such a dreary event as the Emmy Awards? Olin was nominated for her short-lived role as Jennifer Garner 's mother on "Alias."
Alas, the part is over, Olin reports, and she will not be returning. (She was last seen jumping off a building to escape capture.)

The third season of Alias kicks-off tonight on ABC at 9pm/8c and Chuck the Movieguy was able to check out the new episode, titled "The Two", and has provided a very positive review. The review does include some spoilers.
I saw the season opener of Alias. It was incredible. It is titled "The Two" and is numbered E-721. It was written by J.J. Abrams and directed by Ken Olin.
Alias is my favorite show and last season they ended it with Sydney waking up in Hong Kong after a fierce gun battle with Francie and Vaughn tells her she has been missing for two years and that he is married.
This episode takes place seconds after last season's finale. J.J. has done it again, he is constantly re-inventing Alias without scaring away newcomers to the show.
A lot has happened in the two years Sydney was missing, besides Vaughn's marriage, we find out he no longer works for the CIA.
Dixon (Carl Lumbly) is now in charge replacing Kendall.
Marshall is still Marshall and wait till you see the change in his life.
Sydney's dad (Victor Garber) didn't fare well in the two years, in fact the last year has been the worst for him.
Wait till you see the plot twist with Sloane (Ron Rifkin). Amazing.
There is no sign of Marcy or Will but we hear about them, in fact Merrin Dungey's (Marcy) name is not in the beginning but Melissa George's is (Lauren Reed) so I suspect she will be a major player. There is also no Lena Olin. I spoke with her last year for Hollywood Homicide and she says she may only be in a few episodes this season if any at all.
J.J. uses Amanda Foreman from Felicity as a love interest to one of the cast members.
We learn the fate of the Rambaldi artifacts as well. (Yea, like I believe that).
Sydney woke up with a mysterious scar on her stomach, it's pretty big and I am saddened that her perfect waist will be spotted all season.
Oh yea and Sean (Greg Gunberg) has lost weight (or so Syd says). It looks like his part has gotten bigger and deservedly so.
This was an incredible episode, full of action and the usual costume changes by Sydney complete with wigs that we all love.
Many people die in this episode.
It has an INCREDIBLE last 5 minutes that will shock fans. (I have never seen Sydney so mad. Garner should get another Emmy nod for this episode alone).
We are in for a roller coaster season. Expect the unexpected. Take nothing for granted. Alias is the best show on television. A big budget looking movie on your TV every week. Fasten your seat belts, we are in for one heck of a ride.
As a film critic, I am amazed how the best writing and directing is not at the theaters but on TV and Alias is the best example of this.
While I don't think 'Alias' is the best writing (dialogue can be a bit cheesey, and it sometimes tries to tug at the heart strings a bit too hard...) I think the stories are the best anywhere. Can't wait for tonight... (or when I get home tomorrow, depends on how tired I am compared with how much I want to see this when I get home tonight). Thanks for the review, Chuck...

This episode kicked major butt. I love the way she told off Vaugn at the end and he just stood there looking like a jackass. I can't wait till she meets his wife that will be hilarious. I loved when she stood there looking like a hooker and then blew up the car. Classic

I thought it was a good episode. We got no explanation for what happened to Syd, which pisses me off. I felt really bad for her though. She woke up and her whole life was different. I'm sure if I like the way things turned out....Sloane a good guy, Dixon the CIA director, Vaugn married, her father in jail? I guess we'll have to get used to it just like Syd. I loved it when Syd kicked Vaugn's butt, but I did feel sorry for him when we saw the flashback to Syd's apartment after the fire. But he sure got over her pretty fast. How could you get over Sydney Bristow?? And I loved it when she did her "Alias" thing with the wig and skimpy outfit and blew up that car....awesome. Hopefully we'll get some more answers in the next few weeks.

Syd's back and she still kicks butt (Vaughns butt :D )
The scenes with her and Jack were heartbreaking. How can Jack be in jail?! But you can always count on our Syd to get him out
Everything's upside-down and I like it. CHANGES!! yeah.......
I still don't buy that SLoane's a good-guy.

I was not too thrilled about tonight's episode. No questions were answered, and it was one of the more boring episodes that I've seen. I think we will see Irina Derevko again at least once this season. She's playing too much of an important role with Jack not to be seen again. And I'm not too crazy about Sydney's new look...her short, brown hair. I liked her long, highlighted hair. It made her look more sexy. Next week's episode looks a lot more like the Alias that I want to see, ya know, a lot more action!

I think this episode is for us to learn more about Sark.

What exactly was that whole thing with Sark? I kept getting interupted. I missed the part where he found his inheritance or whatever.

That tears it.
Alias has jumped the shark.
I'm livid.

I still love the show.
It's totally different from teh first two season, but so what?! It's still interesting and the characters have changed or haven't they... I really like it and Weiss is so sweet. He's like Syd's best friend right now and Marshall always trying to get her up to speed about what happened the last two years....
I really do hope that Irina will surface again this season!

Weiss is in the friendship business for one thing, and it isn't more 'friendship'.....
BlakeAE77

I hope it doesn't become more than just friendship. I was noticing the other night that Syd and Weiss were getting pretty close.

I don't think so, he is just helping her recuperating. I am more expecting to see something between Syd and Sark.

Interesting idea... Sark is going to have a big role this season... Young, decent actor, they could do a lot with him.... Can't keep waiting between Sundays, though this season is lacking a bit so far compared to the first two in suspense and intrigue... But they'll pick it up...

I hope the action and intensity picks up, and hope we find out some answers soon. And I'm starting to miss some of the characters from last season like Irina, Will, and Francie. I hope they make an appearance soon.

The action lost since the end of the first season. Sark is my only hope!!!

Justin Theroux is a great addition to the cast. I hope he'll be featured more. Syd and Walker interesting couple.....

Looks like we won't be seeing Sydney's mom again any time soon...
"Alias" Mom Gets Lost--Again
By Joal Ryan
It looks like Alias' Sydney has lost more than two years' worth of memories.
Lena Olin, who played Jennifer Garner's KGB agent mom last season on the ABC spy show, has opted to not return as the mysterious maternal unit.
"After doing everything we possibly could including meeting the agents' requests, Lena ultimately decided it wasn't the right time for her to return to the show," creator/executive producer J.J. Abrams said in a statement released by ABC Friday.
A call seeking comment from Olin's publicist was not immediately returned.
E! Online TV columnist Kristin Veitch reported last month that Alias producers "tried desperately" to book Olin for "multiple episodes," but that attempts reportedly had been thwarted by money issues.
According to the new TV Guide, Olin asked for "Sharon Stone (news)-type" dollars, a reference to the reputed $100,000-an-episode rate Stone quoted for her three-episode arc last month on ABC's The Practice. But per the magazine, not even Olin's salary requests scared off Alias's top agents.
Despite Olin's reluctance to return, Abrams said the show is "hopeful that it will work out in the future."
Also not giving up: The Alias fans behind BringBackLena.com. As its name plainly states, the Website, launched last month, wants Olin back on the show--stat. According to the site, fans aim to take their appeal to the Hollywood Reporter next month in the form of an ad. As of Friday, 66 people had pledged $2438.75 of the $3,300 needed for the ad.
Alias was the 47-year-old Swedish-born star's first TV series work. Forays into Hollywood Homicide aside, Olin is best known for grown-up dramas such as Enemies: A Love Story and Night Falls on Manhattan.
On Alias, she showed off her bungee-cord-jumping style as "The Man," aka Irina Derevko, long-lost mother of Garner's Sydney Bristow.
Olin bowed on Alias' second-season opener in September 2002. Although she greeted her daughter with a hail of hot lead, Irina and Sydney actually went on to bond. Mother was last seen in May's season finale, bounding off a building top, with bungee cord in hand.
That episode was a turning point for the show. Garner's agent Sydney woke up in Hong Kong, two years older, but none the wiser (she and viewers were left in the dark about the missing months); and, Bradley Cooper (news)'s journalist Will Tippin got stabbed. While Tippin survived, Cooper wasn't brought back as a regular. He will, however, appear on the December 7 episode, ABC said. Also guesting in that installment: Merrin Dungey, now on recurring status after two solid years of playing Syd's best friend Francie and Francie's genetic double Allison.
Amid the cast turnover, and despite Garner's tabloid-tracked romance with costar Michael Vartan (news), Alias is averaging 9.3 million viewers for the season to date, slightly below ABC's network average of 9.6 million.

Yeah. Again, like I said before, it still has to regain the suspense and intrigue and action of the first two seasons... Shame we won't be seeing Irina again, she could have really boosted this season... Oh well. I'm interested to see Will in 2 weeks... Wonder what he was up to for 2 years...

I think last ep kind of boosted back the tension. Just need to see how they are going to develop it.

Well I will have a bit of problem since I am currently watching Jack & Bobby at that time slot. I am glad it is not Monday since "24" is on Monday now.
I'm starting to catch up on Alias now and I'm currently watching Season 2 on DVD. I'll have access to Season 3 very shortly.
The more I watch Alias the more I appreciate Jennifer Garner. Wow what an actress. Ben doesn't deserve her.
FVD.

Well I don't know about that since I know totally nothing about her on personal level. I don't think I can based her on acting for her personality.

"Alias" is simply the best show on TV right now. Great acting, cool(and complex) plots, and one of the best looking women on TV.
KayTang999
11-19-2004, 11:58 PM
I don't think it is the best but may be one of the best. Of course people have different taste and opinion.
Well I don't know about that since I know totally nothing about her on personal level. I don't think I can based her on acting for her personality.
I think her personality does kinda reflect on her work. Based off the bloopers it does show that she's really enjoying herself with a laugh here and there.
But that's my $0.02.
I've finally started watching Season 3 on DVD. I don't think Season 3 has even aired in NZ yet. Can any fellow Kiwi's confirm this?
And I really wanna see Lost. I have no idea when this program will hit NZ shores.

The bloopers on season 2 and 3 are too funny. I laughed so hard! :funny:
KayTang999
11-29-2004, 08:19 PM
Yeah, they were funny. Now that the new season is starting soon, I need to refresh my memory a bit.
Well I've just finished watching Season 3. And I learned that Season 3 won't air in NZ until next year. Talk about falling behind the 8 ball. Just as well I've kept up and am glad Lauren is taken care of. Damn she was evil.
Now I gotta wait for yonks and read what you've all got to say about Season 4 starting next month. Grrr.
FVD.

12-13-2004, 08:42 PM
Ah, don't assume that she is done just yet. You never know when she will pop up again. Afterall, we haven't seen her body yet.
Yeah you're right. I mean look at Alison/Francie. Will we expect Lena Olin to return in the new season? Will we see more of Will perhaps?
And Isabella Rosselini was awesome as Katya.
FVD.
KayTang999
12-13-2004, 08:49 PM
Lena Olin said that she is not coming back, and probably not ever. They cut down screen time for many characters in the new season.
Oh that's a shame then. Oh well. I hope they don't end up casting somebody else.
KayTang999
12-14-2004, 12:32 PM
If they are smart, all they need to do is write in that this character has plastic surgery to change her face and cast someone in that role.
Yeah that's a possibility. Some kinda facial reconstruction.
KayTang999
12-14-2004, 08:19 PM
But I don't if we need Irina back just yet. They can do without her though.

I too need an Alias refresher... Preferably without shelling out $60...
But I don't if we need Irina back just yet. They can do without her though.
Yeah I believe they did a good job writing her into the story during Season 3. The way it was carried out with Jack making chat messages etc.
If they can do it like that some more then I won't mind.
KayTang999

Yeah, I mean storyline doesn't need her so far so it won't be necessary.

When does the new season start. I need to get up and going on catching up?
KayTang999
12-15-2004, 02:57 PM
Well if you are still on season one, you have 2 seasons to catch up since we are going to see season 4 in like about 3 weeks.
I can't wait for Season 4, it's gonna be so good to get back to ALIAS.

Hi, I just finished wathcing the season finale of season 3 on DVD. I was shocked to see Vaughn get out of bed with a collasped lung, I mean a collasped lung is pretty serious espicially when blood pours into your lungs! Anyways I tried to hold that back, but then Vaughn shows up in Sicily, I mena what did he get there on speed of light jet. The air travel time from LA to Sicily is 10 hours plus. And I know these are errors people look past, but sometimes the show needs to calm down. One episode Vaughn was stabbed by Sydney then the next he is wlkaing about with no faigue or scars, and only a week had gone by or less. Does anyelse ahve issues with what I'm talking about or agrees with me at least, please speak.
I mean dont get me wrong I love the show, but when suff like this happens it makes me feel like the credibility of the show is crap. Peace

Yeah I think that's the nature of any of these action shows or even movies - I mean we dont' really watch them for the reality of it all. I'm optimistic about season 4 - and really need to find out WHAT the hell that document actually says.

Yes! The premiere is tonight. FINALLY!!
Has anyone been hearing about these "passports" that people are finding everywhere. Apparently it looks like a passport and it has a pic of Jen Garner in it - under the alias Amy Tippen... anyway people on another board were saying they found them in a mall or something. Can anyone enlighten me?
