I liked HHH and Rock's Ironman Match at Judgement Day (I think that was the PPV) a few years back the most. Undertaker came back as a repackaged character that night. But I enjoyed it because they allowed several falls throughout the match, rather than the HBK/Hart match that went 60 minutes without a fall.

I never did get to see Angle/Lesnar though.

Yeah, the diva stuff is highly annoying and some girls are just kinda, uh. But I still think Carmella looks just as hot as Trish or Stacy.

That was the beauty of the hbk/hart match - they were that equal and prepared for each other that for 60 minutes they could not pin each other or make each other submit. And the best part is that it was entertaining from the first second until the last second of sudden death.

I don't know. I just think that match is really overrated IMO. There were too many dead parts in there for to me. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the match. But I wasn't blown away by it by any means. I feel that HBK/Austin WM 14 and Bret/Owen at WM 10 were better matches than the HBK/Bret Hart Ironman.

The Bret/Michaels match was incredible, one of my favorite, if not my favorite match. Both of them showed how hard they work. it was well creafted and flawless IMO.

I thought Michaels won 2 pins to 1 in that match???/ Its been a while since I have seen it.

Was that the first IMM? Well if it was, they set the bar and it will be hard to be topped. IMO it has yet to be topped in an IMM, but the HHH/Benoit one was very good, but not great, and like someone said, kind of slow in the beg. The end was the best

yeah we know wrestling is predetermined, but we can still comment on their characters that they portray.

and I think jericho would win. I can see it, jericho is the future hbk. If you don't believe me look at the two(heartbreak hotel, jericho's show, hbk the first to do everything, jericho is the only man that can brag about beating the rock and stone cold in one night).

who's one night? :p just joking:D between Edge & Jericho i'd pick Jericho. WAY better than Edge IMHO. better character, better wrestler, just plain out better. Edge gets old after a while. Jericho never seems to let me down.

like at WM 19 when he low blowed HBK after their hug when the match was over, brilliant! thats Jericho doing what does best as a heel.

plus he's a really cool person to meet. i met him at Ozzfest '03 in San Antonio and he was great.

Teddy Long (New SD! GM..for those of you that haven't seen it yet.) has toned down his act and has better mic skills than I orginally thought. He might very well be able to work this and help SD! turn things around. I've noticed that as of late they're making an effort to try and improve and I appreciate that. I'll be watching SD! more, that's for sure.

Raw is..disappointing me as of late. I'm so frickin' sick and tired of Randy Orton! I'm tired of Evolution, members of Evolution and talking about them. Let it go already..they had their day. The only thing that is keeping me happy with Raw is the fact that Benoit is still champion and doing a damn good job. Raw needs to lose the Diva search crap, stop wasting time and improve their writing. (Kane/Lita/Hardy is just one example of the crap that they're churning out these days). At least we still have Jericho to keep us entertained if we tune in. Edge is good but he's not a single's competitor. They need to bring back Christian, and I never thought I'd say that but Edge needs a partner. He's doing okay but he could do so much better in the tag division.

Eugene is getting old too. He was entertaining for the first week or so but it got stale fast. C'mon WWE! Raw can be better than the crap it has been these past few weeks.

After Smackdown recently scored a higher rating than RAW, Vince McMahon was said to be quite upset. He is currently in negotiations with Viacom and it would be beneficial if RAW was his highest ranked show in order to maintain any leverage the program has built in its Monday night timeslot.

KAne will win because Matt has to have major knee surgery and will be out for awhile. The only way I see him winning is having HBK return to attack Kane adn help Matt win. Kane was the one who knocked HBK out. London and Kidman are still tag champs. The Cena vs. Booker T best of 5 match will be great along with the Eddie vs. Kurt match. Then of course is the food, Pizza, Sandwiches, Drinks, Hot Wings, Chips and of course Tums. The party starts at ten in the morning and WrestleMAnai doesn't even start till 6.

Oh BTW, Brock and Sable are now engaged. Chyna performed with her band at a UPW show and was booed off the stage after one song.

I thought the Booker T/Cena match was a the first of a series of 3 out of 5 falls in the next few weeks ahead. But I guess it's all in one night? Kinda odd considering there's 7 other matches on the card.

Either way the only thing that intrigues me is Guerrero/Angle and Booker T/Cena. Maybe Benoit/Orton, assuming that Benoit can pull a decent match out of Orton. Other than that, the rest of the card just seems like, meh. But the HHH/Eguene match has had some good build up the past few weeks.

slinger
08-10-2004, 12:39 PM
Guerrero and Angle should have match of the night. There WM match was one of the best for the year. Orton/Benoit I would like to see continue onto the next PPV with Orton winning then. Then maybe a fued with Jericho and then leaves Evolution. The Edge/Y2J match was really good last night, going to break didn't help but it was a fine match and adding Batista to the mix should make it better.

Edge joins Evolution? Could work. Getting an assist from Christian would be great especially since its in Toronto. That too will make the PPV better. And notice how they ended last night's match. No winners, so it isn't like oh Orton won again so he'll lose on Sunday. Or Orton tapped out so it looks like Benoit loses. Eugene came in and laid the punches on everyone so it was pretty even.

from rajah.com

- Right now, the long-term plan is for Triple H to wrestle Randy Orton for the World title at next year’s Wrestlemania. Triple H originally wanted this match for this year’s Wrestlemania but he and others realized that it was much too early for it to happen.

- At this point, Orton is expected to defeat Chris Benoit at Summerslam this Sunday, possibly via interference from Edge who would turn heel. Under this scenario, Edge would then feud with Benoit over the Intercontinental title while Orton would be left to face the likes of Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels and Benoit. Meanwhile, Triple H would continue to feud with Eugene.

well looks like Rena"Sable"Mero has gotten the pink slip...again! there was no reason as of now on why she was released.

The most likely reason stems from her attitude backstage now that she and Brock are engaged and the comments she made in a Newspaper Interview last week. She talked about Male wrestlers can have families at home but Female wrestlers need to make a choice and if they do not have the California Finish to them (Blonde adn Blue Eyes)

here is what I would like to see to really make Raw watchable again

I would like to see Christian return to help Edge win his match and keep his IC Title

I want Orton to beat Benoit clean and then on Raw dismantle Evolution. I would like to see him then start a new heel faction with Edge and Christian

I would like for HHH to war with Eugene and beat him down so far and yet Eugene doesn't give up. HHH then sees the heart Eugene has and leave the match. He could then be of tv for a few weeks and return as a face who has learned that heart will get you further than hate

I would like to see Batista join with tomko and help build a solid tag division

I would like for Flair to finally do nothing but manage Orton, Edge and Christian

I would like for Hurricane to then be built into a solid and damn good feud with Christian

I would like for Benoit to feud with Edge

I would like for Jericho to then start a classic feud with Orton for the world title

I want them to decide that all of this diva crap is pathetic and have Alexis Laree or Daffney come in and beat the **** out of all of them

I would like for Lita to admit the entire baby angle was bogus and that she was just using Matt to gain Kane's power

I would like a returning HBK to go after Kane

i think a HBK/Kane feud wouldnt be too good, styles clash too much...

also i dont like the idea of lita saying she was using matt to gain kane's power, sounds like a little bit of a desperate cop out to me. Just have lita join kane and be done with this angle

These all sound great MAtt. Some seem possible while some a little more far fetched but all good overall.

Orton breaking up Evolution would be great. Seeing him, Edge and Christian in a stable of thier own would be awesome. We would finally have a stable with a contender for a major singles title and a tag title.

The Diva search will not end because they ahve already put so much into it. I just hope they will ease off of it adn fast.

Hurricane needs a good feud, it will have to be after he gets back from surgery. He has not been able to breathe through his nose lately and has to have reconstructive surgery on it. There is no set time for his return.

Raw does need a good Tag Division, WWE as a whole needs one because both shows have 'a' good tag team and that is it. All fo the other tag teams are thrown together. Next years draft lottery needs to help re-form some tag teams because te tag division has gone south on both shows this last year.

An Edge vs Benoit will be nice to see because both are very good wrestlers. An Orton and Jericho feud would be great because Y2J needs another feud for the world title.

Kane and HBK are set to feud on his return and that should put to rest MAtt Hardy going after Kane especially during his rehab.

jbailey84

Yayyy, looks like there is some interesting matches on the card. Looking better than last year's Summerslam anyhow. last year's wasn't that bad.

the Fatal 4 way with Rhyno, Tajiri, Benoit, and U.S. Champ Eddie was awesome!

Kurt Vs Brock pt2 was pretty good. loved the ending when the crowd was chanting You Suck to his music and Angle says to the crowd "Who sucks? You Suck! You Suck!" along with his music!! lol great stuff.

and the Elimination Chamber was something alright. i'm not a huge fan of Goldberg as i know how most of you feel towards him, but it was cool to see the old WCW Monster Goldberd return at that point.

i think the best Summer Slam i had seen has to be Summer Slam '92. Ultimate Warrior Vs Randy Savage for the title & Bret Hart Vs British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Title were the best matches.

Summer Slam 2002 was pretty good also. :D

BREAKING NEWS ABOUT HBK/SUMMERSLAM
from rajah.com

- We have heard that Shawn Michaels’ wife gave birth late Thursday evening / early Friday morning. As stated previously, Michaels was planning on attending SummerSlam, but said he would miss the PPV if his wife hadn’t given birth by Sunday since he wanted to be there with her. It now looks like everything is good to go for his return and likely interference in the Kane vs Matt Hardy match which would then set up a Kane / HBK feud after the PPV.

1Wrestling.com is reporting that Bret Hart made the trip to Toronto after making an appearance in Buffalo yesterday. He planned to meet with WWE officials.

As far as is known, Bret was not scheduled to appear tonight, but "never say never" when talking about WWE. All that is known is that Bret is expected to be in Toronto. Read into it however you choose, but just remember that there is absolutely no confirmation of any appearance tonight.

Here is my opinions on Summerslam tonight.

World Heavyweight Title Match: Chris Benoit vs. Randy Orton: This match was my 2nd favorite match of the night, and I was soooo glad to see Orton win the title. Congrats to Orton and I think he will make a face turn now.

WWE Championship: John Bradshaw Layfield vs. The Undertaker: This match was kind of boring and it was soooo boring that the crowd even started doing a wave, lol. Anyhow, Bradshaw won because Taker' got DQ'ed for using the belt.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle:Overall this was my favorite match of the night with alot of technical mat wrestling. I enjoyed it alot! Angle pulled off the win though.

Intercontinental Championship: Edge vs. Batista vs. Jericho: I wasn't really into this match much. I didn't even see half of it because I was getting something to eat, but I did see Edge pull off the win.

Till Death Do Us Part Match: Kane vs. Matt Hardy: Very short match and it really sucked too I thought. Kane pulled off the win and Lita was acting all freaked out, we really didn't see a heel turn from her. Though I did expect it tonight, and no HBK either.

Triple H vs. Eugene: Decent match, is was alright but could have been alot better I think. Triple H picks up the win and I expected that, also I kind of knew that Ric Flair would get involved.

U.S. Championship: John Cena vs. Booker T: Booker T seemed to be going kind of slow tonight. He wasn't acting his norm, I didn't think anyhow. Cena pulled off the win as I had predicted and hopefully he picks up the title.

Six-man Tag Team Match: Dudleyz and Spike vs. Paul London, Rey Jr., and Kidman: My 3rd favorite match of the night. I WAS SURPRISED, BIG TIME! Paul London put on a helluva show, good job to him! Dudleyz won the match though, and I liked seeing Spike as a heel for once.

Diva Dodgeball: Search Contestants won and I don't think any of them got eliminated. The Raw Diva's SUCKED BAD.

My overall opinion of Summerslam is that mostly, it sucked. I only enjoyed 3 of the matches alot.

What a terrible show Summerslam was.

The Canadian Crowd killed this PPV big time. They were just so against the faces and started dumb chants and just ruined any heat the wrestlers and story lines were looking for.

John Cena was just awful tonight , one of the worst performances I have seen in a long time.He and Booker looked lost.
This 3-5 series is off to a terrible start.

Taker and JBL was even worse than I expected. No way was Taker Jobbing to this guy so they went with the lame DQ win.

At least Orton won , turning him face may be a mistake though because he sucked before as a face. His gimmick is good he should stick with it.

Overall rating 1.5/5 (Just a poor effort)

John Cena was just awful tonight , one of the worst performances I have seen in a long time.He and Booker looked lost.
This 3-5 series is off to a terrible start.

Taker and JBL was even worse than I expected. No way was Taker Jobbing to this guy so they went with the lame DQ win.

At least Orton won , turning him face may be a mistake though because he sucked before as a face. His gimmick is good he should stick with it.

Overall rating 1.5/5 (Just a poor effort)

Canadian fans are smart fans. Taker/JBL DQ is just like Lesner/Taker all over again. Remember way back at the Royal Rumble when it was Benoit and Orton for a good while?

Like I mentioned the fans killed the PPV.
They were just bastards.
Vince was probably not pleased.

I agree with you, it got to a point where even the king began to complain about the canadians. They do that everytime WWE goes to canada, did you hear the crowd yelling to benoit - YOU SCREWED BRET! Come on do they yell that chant to everyone?

I haven't been very interested in a WWE Pay Per View in a while and Summer Slam was no different. There were some good matches(I'm glad Orton won. I like Benoit but I like Orton as well. Also, Eddie and Kurt's match was pretty good) but overall, it was as mediocre as the other PPV's have been this year(and last, honestly). They just don't hold my interest like they use to.

This is the first WWE PPV i've seen since bad blood with the HHH vs. HBK hell in a cell and having not watched RAW as religiously as i used to, how some of these matches (one in perticular) came about was a bit of a mystery. But when i heard the card a few weeks back, i knew i had to see it, i mean benoit vs orton? thats got classic written all over it, as does guerrero vs angle (as there wrestlemania match was exceptional). So i went to my friends house (no sky sports in my house, one reason why i dont see WWE too often) and me and my two other friends sat down to what turned out to be an interesting night....

These matches are reviewed in order of awesomeness:
Batista vs Edge vs Jericho
Now, i knew who would win this match. It was obvious, but what wasnt obvious was the reaction the fans gave Edge (a fellow canadian who usually get all the support canada has to offer). So i understand it though the fans have been booing him for quite sometime and now, so it seems from this match, WWE will turn him heel. I thought this match was decent, jericho was great as per usual (how he isnt main eventing is beyond me), edge was good (he is a better heel really) and batista did very little but did it with the kinda raw power you expect from him. An edge vs. jericho match might've worked out better, but i cant fault batista's presence in the WWE and if he possibly did more in that match, he would've impressed me. Also i thought this match was a little short and was surprised jericho lost the way he did with just a spear, he should've really kicked out of it. Poor match for the guys who were in it, but not the worst i've ever seen.
WINNER: EDGE

John Cena vs Booker T
OK, maybe i shouldnt be judging this match as i obviously didnt understand the rules at all. My friends and myself all were convinced that this would be a best of 5 match which would be settled tonight. Just like a best of 3 that we've seen over the years like Benoit vs. Angle for Angle's medals, but how wrong we were. When the match ended and Cena left, i assumed that the remain bouts would happen later that night, again i was wrong. So looking back, the match was criminally short and though a good enough contest, could've done with way more time if it was to be their only match that night.
WINNER: John Cena

Matt Hardy vs. Kane
You may be asking why i put this before the other two, well there is two reasons 1) Top rope chokeslam 2) top rope side-effect. Did i ever mark out to those moves! But yet again match was too short. I like both Matt and Kane but since this was such a bizarre match and with so much on the line, they should've made is falls count anywhere, also something big should've happened, as lita didnt turn heel and shawn michaels didnt turn up. This match just sent the angle into places that it shouldnt really be going. It was good.
WINNER: Kane

Paul London/Billy Kidman/Rey Myterio vs The Dudleys
I loved this match! What a great opening. WWE dont usually have the best opening matches for PPVs but i really enjoyed this. London is such an exceptional wrestler and showed some of what he can do. His senton over the top rope was brilliant. It wasnt just London but everyone really made this a great opener. OK, so you're probably saying that i am overselling this match, but you must admit for an opener it was really entertaining.
WINNER: The Dudleys

JBL vs The Undertaker
Well.......well......well, i was very pleasently surprised by this match. I havent really seen much of JBL's recent matches but from everything i heard about him, it really appears that he is not World Title material. Then i saw this match and my mind changed. JBL really gave it his all and i found this match to be far beyond what i thought it would be. It had the right amount of suspense and lasted long enough to make it entertaining without getting boring. The crowd doing a mexican wave kinda pissed me off since these guys are giving it their all to entertain them! Also i hope that idiot that jumped the railing got his ass kicked.....In any case, I enjoyed that match and the only thing i didnt like was how they ended it with a DQ, its kinda a lame way to end a match and makes neither man look good. Though i loved the chokeslam through the limo, fantastic way to end it.
WINNER: JBL

Angle vs. Guerrero
Being that these two men are two of the finest wrestlers in the WWE is probably why i wanted to see more of this match then i was given. Dont get me wrong, what i saw was fantastic, great mat wrestling and i couldnt help rooting for both men. But the problem was it was too short and it has to be said that their Wrestlemania match was better. Then again, with such Wrestlemania was such a hard act to follow. Great match but just exceptional like i would've hoped.
WINNER: Kurt Angle

Eugene vs. HHH
Brilliant. Eugene and HHH fought one hell of a match. All i can fault the on was the crowd ruining the atmostphere. i cant really understand why they booed eugene, i was as confused as The King during this match but i still thought they put on a great show. Also i was delighted to see Ric Flair come down and then William Regal culminating in a brass knuckles shot to Flair. HHH made me laugh with sheer enjoyment when he faked the injury and then attacked Eugene. Eugene had me rooting for him to win so much, when he nailed HHH with a stunner, a rock bottom and a predigree. The damn audience was the only thing that ruined this match for me. I'd like this match to show that HHH is one of the greats at the moment, forget his backstage influence, just look at him for what he is in the ring, a great showman and a highly skilled wrestler.
WINNER: Triple H

Randy Orton vs. Chris Benoit
Maybe its a little cliche to call this my fave, but i really did like it that much. The crowd were behind both men, which i was fine with, both men showed off their skill and gave us the kinda match i expected. I'm not sure how to praise this match without repeating myself, i just really, really enjoyed it and seeing orton get the gold shocked me, but didnt disappoint me, i like the idea of orton as a champ. If i were to nitpick, i would say that benoit should've kicked out of the RKO the first time but i really cant dispute a fine match like this. Some of you may not think this was a classic but it was certainly match of the night.
WINNER: Randy Orton

Yeah I liked the reviews , best I seen on here since DJ's.

Although you should have mentioned that Cena put in one of the worst performances in PPV history , He was lazy and the match was a dud.If the rest of the series are this bad I can see Cena getting demoted to mid card very fast.
He better step it up in the next bouts.

Booker has been getting worse and worse lately so he's excused because no one cares about him anyways but Cena's performance was just awful to say the least.

This was the first PPV I saw in a long time. And now it's probably going to be another long time before I watch another one.

I liked the HHH/Eugene and Angle/Eddie matches. Other than that though, I was pretty much disapointed in the event.

A DQ finish in a World Title match at a PPV is a serious no no IMO. But I was glad to see the Bradshaw/UT match come to an end. That was just painful to watch. How Bradshaw is the World Champ is a mystery to me. I guess they just love having dead crowds, save for the fans entertaining themselves during a World Title match. They should send some kind of clue to Vince. But it was pretty funny seeing the Undertaker jump around like he was boxing. Wouldn't bother me that much if it was still "American Badass" Undertaker. But after this whole time they're trying to give it more of a "Deadman" Undertaker feel, it just seems like a joke. They are doing a great job of destroying a legendary wrestling figure IMO.

That would've been pretty funny if the fan that was walking on the limo's roof fell through and messed up the chokeslam stunt.

Is it me or was Randy Orton's championship career pushed just a little too early? I get that they wanted to break brocks record of being the youngest champion(which I think should have stayed 26, the age of the rock when he first became champ). After watching tonights opener of raw, I am far from convinced that Orton could pull off being a world champ(And I am still pissed off that Orton beat Benoit so easily last night).

So why are you complaining if the booed Edge? It's similar to The Rock and his heel turn when he was getting booed in Toronto (WM18) and Long Island (SummerSlam 2002) when he was still the number one face. They know Edge will turn heel. Winnipeg booed Eguene when he was GM, terrible character. They've made the best out of the situation but instead of cutting wrestlers its time they got rid of writers. The fans paid good money to be entertained. A JBL/Undertaker Title Match doesn't fit in the entertainment category. It's a refreshing change when the WWE airs from Canada or the New York area.

It would've been better if Evolution cost him the match, Benoit winning back the gold. Then at No Mercy have a HHH/Benoit No DQ Evolution Barred from ring side match (Orton does a run in).

At Survivor Series bring back the Elimination Chamber and include:
Benoit, Orton, Jericho, HHH, Batista, Kane, HBK & Christian. Yes a 8 man Elimination Chamber to make it interesting. Orton pins HHH and then gets the RKO on Benoit winning the title back.

At Armageddon its Orton vs Edge for the Title, HHH wins the Royal Rumble and Orton wins his match against Kane? they seem to have him face every Champion. Then at WrestleMania 21 its Orton/HHH with Randy being the victor but loses it to Trips at Backlash.

So what would the whole point of Orton winning the belt then? Orton is going to be a great champion. People criticized the WWE when they made the Rock the champ at such a young age but you know what it paid off. Orton has got so much talent. Just watching that video package on him tongiht was great. We have had enough Benoit adn Triple H to last a long time now. BEnoit and Triple H is not anything near the Triple H/HBK matches. BEnoit like Snik says does the same few moves all fo the time. HBK and Triple H always put on great matches but after the first couple BEnoit adn Triple H matches it got boring. Last nights match was a great passing of the torch to Orton adn tongihts was a great one to. I knew he would retain tongiht but was not sure how adn I did not expect the turn of Evolution against him to happen tonight which was surprising. I will go into this more in my commentary I am working on.

As for furture plans I would like to see some Orton vs. Triple H matches coming up as well as some ORton vs. Y2J matches.

So Orton was kicked out of Evolution. If he lost he most likely would've remained in the group. If he had won and lost the championship in 24 hours due to HHH, Batista and Flair then there would be hate. With tonight he's still champion. Who cares? He won the match and they beat him up. Who has the gold?

It would've been Orton and Triple H both going after the belt one uping each other and making sure the other guy comes out on the losing side. Both would have motiviation. The plan it seems is to have Randy vs HHH at WrestleMania 21. That's a little ways off. They were able to stall Angle/Lesner with The Big Show and a Handicap Tag Match. By letting Benoit hold it for another two months you get the fans behind a face Orton so when he wins again he's over more. ? Just to change things, hold off on the big match, have plenty of buildup for it and not make everything predictable.

OK but the problem with your idea of him losing it tongiht is that he just beomces another Kane. Kane won the title and lostit the next night. How many world titles has Kane won since then? ZERO The reason is because the fans did not get behind him anymore. He was pushed down the ladder after losing the match and when he woudl try to climb back up the steps broke and he fell just further. Triple H is pretty much Vince Jr. and he has helped to develop this character of Randy and this upcoming angle. Over the aost year Randy has grown to be a great in-ring and on-mic star. I still remember last year when he beat up Foley and pushed him down the stairs and called for a janitor. He is one of the two big up and coming superstars right now in WWE. The other one chatted with him last night at SummerSlam, JOhn Cena. Yes Cena's match last ngiht was nowhere near his potential but I know he can come out of it and will go on to be a great superstar in a year we could see him witht he WWE Heavyweight Title. Both of these Men are the future of the WWE. That is where we are moving, and to do taht we need to go with fresh faces, fresh ideas and fresh champions like Randy Orton. ~ The Professor has spoken take it for what its worth.

Well Kane not winning another title just isn't because the fans aren't behind him. I see your point. It was just a suggestion. It just happened that the rematch was tonight. If it was say three weeks from now, since there is no RAW PPV until October, it might appear better. I don't really mind seeing Orton as a champion. It's the part of seeing HHH in the World Title picture again that's really annoying. He was out of it for like what........ 2 PPVs this year? And he still main-evented w/ HBK in a HIAC at Bad Blood, which overshadowed Kane/Benoit. I'm sorry, but I've been ready to see a legit World Title feud w/o HHH involved. It's sad how increasingly repetitive the booking has become.

Rhyno defeated Sylvan Grenier to gain a Tag Team Title Shot vs La Resitance at Unforgiven

Kane read an invitation and this is to everyone all over the world, that Kane requests your presence for his marriage to Lita and that will take place next Monday, the 23rd of August at the Arrowhead Pond from Anaheim, California.

It was then announced Kane would Face Edge for the IC Title

was shown in the backstage area and The Coach caught up with her and asked her if she has any comments now that she is forced to marry Kane? Lita started to leave but Coach asked her what is going through her mind right now? Lita said that she just wants to be left alone and then she went into the women's locker room where the WWE Divas were there with a surprise for Lita, saying congratulations to Lita and Kane. Trish said that they wanted to turn her frown upside down, so they decided to throw her a bridal shower. Molly said that since Lita likes to sleep around so much, here's something that she could really use. First, there is birth control pills and let's not forget the condoms! The WWE Divas then sang "Trojan Man, Trojan Man" and then Gail Kim gave Lita a picture of her and Kane's first kiss. They are obviously in love. They don't have to worry about the baby because here's what it'll look like. Gail held up a picture of a deformed baby. Trish said that they saved the best for last and Jazz brought out a vibrator for those long cold nights when Kane is out of town. Trish said that Lita can thank them now. Lita just looked at the Divas with a look of anger and Trish followed her out of the room, saying that they tried real hard, besides she forgot her condoms. Trish wished Lita good luck next week and Victoria showed up and Trish said great job on Diva Dodgeball. Who was her coach? Stevie Wonder? Victoria responded with a hard slap to Trish

They then showed a Video Package of HBK coming back. JR said he is likely to return at Unforgiven in Portland.

Victoria defated Gail Kim

Trish Stratus came out to the ring and swung at Victoria but Victoria hammered away on Trish Stratus until Tyson Tomko made his way out to the ring and grabbed Victoria from behind. As Tyson held onto Victoria, Trish laid into Victoria with a straight right hand to send her down to the mat. Trish then signaled for Tyson to pick Victoria up and he did just that, lifting Victoria up over his head and then a strange woman came out to the ring and gave Tyson a chop block to knock him down. The crowd chanted "Stevie, Stevie!" and the 'woman' went over to Victoria and you could hear a member of the audience yell 'Steven Richards!!' The 'woman' then turned and walked away as Victoria looked intimidated.

Edge defeated Kane to retain the IC Title with Matts Help

Edge grabbed the Intercontinental Championship and left the ring and Kane sat right up and he locked his eyes on Lita and Lita remained on the outside of the ring, showing no fear. Kane got out of the ring and grabbed a mic and forced Lita into the ring. Kane held onto Lita and he said that Lita would probably think that he'd be angry at what just happened. But he's not. Kane laughed and said that he can see what kind of relationship this is going to be and he is going to enjoy it. And nothing can upset Kane tonight because next week right here, live on RAW, they are getting married! And later that night, they'll consummate their marriage. Lita responded with a hard slap to the face of Kane and Kane said oh yeah, that's the way he likes it. It's going to be a hell of a honeymoon!

Diva Contestant Michelle got voted off

Y2J defeated Batista by DQ when Flair came into the ring.

Batista hammered away on Chris Jericho and then Ric Flair got in the ring and gave Jericho a low blow. Batista then planted Chris Jericho with a spinebuster and then Edge's music hit in the arena and he stormed to the ring to make the save. Flair and Batista stopped Edge from getting in the ring and Edge ran around the ring and tried to get in the ring but was unable to due to Batista and Flair blocking him. Chris Jericho took a look at Edge trying to help him and Edge decided against it and turned back and left. Batista then nailed Chris Jericho and then picked him up and gave him a big time sit down power bomb as Edge looked at Chris Jericho like he was pathetic.

Diva contestants come out again. one final time

Orton and HHH had a talk in the Locker Room

Randy Orton defeated Chris Benoit with the RKO

Ric Flair and Triple H got in the ring and hugged Randy Orton as Batista grabbed Chris Benoit on the outside of the ring and slammed him into the steel steps. Batista got in the ring as well and he hoisted Randy Orton up on his shoulders and held him high in the air as Ric Flair and Triple H celebrated Randy Orton's title victory. Triple H gave Randy Orton the thumbs up and he smiled and then he wiped the smile off his face and gave him the thumbs down and Batista dropped back to slam Randy Orton down to the mat and then Triple H hammered away on Randy Orton with a number of right hands and then Flair gave Orton some right hands followed by some blows by Batista. Batista and Ric Flair held onto Randy Orton and Triple H grabbed the World Championship and talked trash, holding the World Championship in Orton's face. Triple H smacked Randy Orton around and then he showed him the World Title and laid into him with a hard shot to the head with the belt. Randy Orton was bloodied up as a result and Triple H went over and pounded away on Randy Orton some more and you could hear Batista saying that Orton is nothing without Evolution. Triple H picked Randy up and gave him to Batista who planted Randy Orton with the sit down power bomb. Flair then stomped away on Orton and then Triple H planted Randy with the Pedigree and Triple H grabbed the World Title and said that this is him, this is Evolution. Triple H shoved Randy Orton and then stood tall above Orton as the show went off the air.

To answer the guys question that was another thread, about the rock. I don't think he will come back fulltime for a while, maybe not ever again. The longest he will come back is for a 2 to 3 week stint like at wrestlemania this past year. As for Raw, i would rate it a 7/10. There was only 2 matches if I remember right. They were enjoyable matches, but only two. The Rock/Diva segment took up almost a quarter of the show. I'm a Rock Fan, but in my eyes, no segment should take a quarter of the show unless it is a match. I thought the Edge/Jericho match was very well done except for the ending. What the hell was that? I've never seen anybody get DQ'ed for that. Wrestlers do that to other wrestlers all the time, but that's the first time i've seen it called. Did anybody else think those midgets were creepy in the wedding. oh, and trish's outfit was nice.

WWE Looking for People for Reality Show

NEW YORK - World Wrestling Entertainment chairman Vince McMahon is looking for a few good men.

For three seasons, McMahon's WWE granted wrestling contracts via the "Tough Enough" MTV reality competition. McMahon is doing it again, but this time, there's $1 million on the line and a new format.

Unlike the previous gender-friendly "Tough Enough" seasons, which had men and women competing against each other to become the next Triple H or Trish Stratus, the fourth venture will see eight men battling for the four-year contract, WWE spokesman Michael Smith told The Associated Press Monday.

And "Tough Enough" won't be returning to MTV. For eight weeks, the new incarnation will be integrated into "Smackdown!" on UPN, beginning in October and ending in December. Each week, viewers will vote "American Idol" style for the contestant they want to see win the $1 million contract. The man with the lowest votes will be sent packing.

Casting for "athletic, physically fit, talented and charismatic men" has begun. Prospective body slammers are encouraged to download an application and submit a 60-second video.

Smith said the WWE is looking for amateur wrestlers from "all walks of life."

Meanwhile, a similar contest for women — searching for WWE divas, not wrestlers — is happening during "RAW," WWE's Spike TV prime-time show. But the "RAW Diva Search" winner's prize is much less substantial: a yearlong contract and $250,000.

been meaning to mention this and now is as good a time as ever, i thought this was interesting, at the royale rumble when ric flair won it after entering 3rd (its on the Ultimate Ric Flair DVD), in that same Rumble Macho Man leaped over the top rope to hit Jake the Snake (i think it was), we all thought macho man had eliminated himself but it seems it isnt possible to eliminate yourself and he was let back into the rumble. This brings me to a more recent Royale Rumble where Drew Carey was entered. In this rumble carey squared off against Kane, after norrowly missing a chokeslam carey eliminates himself. But wait.......if you cant eliminate yourself then wasnt carey still in the rumble? Does that mean he won it? Being the only man left not eliminated. Dont be too surprised if you see a Drew Carey vs HHH main event at Wrestlemania.

will the rock ever return

Chewie was right about most of what he said.

The Rock has stated that returning full-time to WWE is not likely to happen for a few years or even ever. He does feel he owes alot of his successto WWE that is why he will make the appearances he does. When Raw does a show in a city where he is currently or working he will make an appearance. He has also said he would like to wrestle between 1-2 times a year at major PPV's like this years Mania. He has got a number of movies lined up for the next few years so he will be busy. I am happy that we have gotten to see the Rock 3 times in a little more then 2 months.

Glss was right about him making the Diva Segment enjoyable. They were going to use that amount of time anyway with the segment he just made it even more enjoyable. He even mad comments about how it is kind of boring and unmemorable.

what move did they do in the Jericho/Edge match that got them a DQ?

If I remember right Edge threw jericho into the ropes and when he came back he picked him up and tossed him on the ropes and Jericho just happened to straddle them.

Those are just rumors. There is not set plan for even a 4th Terminator yet. They will most likely need a new Terminator unless they want to wait until Arnold is done being the Govinator.

The Rock actually made me watch the Diva Search. The "divas" were still crappy though. Rock had some funny lines to (with Tajiri)

the one about Aneheim (Sp?) and weed was hilarious.

The midgets freaked me out at the wedding. Lita looked hot

The Rock made me watch the Raw Diva Search also and Tajiri. I also liked the Regal vs. Flair match alot as well, it was very intense! Other than that, Raw sucked again!

Actually it should be Kane vs. Maven vs. Drew Carey. If you remember a few years ago when Kane had the mask on. Kane was cleaning house in the RR it just that Vince McMahon sent the orderlys out to take Kane to the Psycho House and Kane walked over the top rope and elimanated himself aswell.

It now appears that Randy Orton vs. Triple H World Title match will be the headliner for WWE Unforgiven. It was expected for the two to headline WrestleMania 21 a few weeks ago. WWE has decided to speed up the angle due to the horrible ratings they have been receiving and plus Monday Night Football will begin in a few weeks. WWE is hoping that with having a new face to build around it will help business rebound.

If this angle becomes a success, the two could still headline WrestleMania 21 for a rematch. There is another idea being tossed around that the WWE may headline the event with an interpromotional match, possibly Randy Orton vs. John Cena, Kurt Angle or The Undertaker. if this is and will be true, i would love to see the headline event between Randy Orton Vs John Cena.

Some of them were cool.... Blackman vs. Shane on RAW, anything Foley or Terry Funk did

Some were massively lame and didn't look real at all.... i.e. nearly every other blackman match.

As many of you know I am a huge wrestling fan and my knowledge goes back in the mid to late 1980’s. I have been thinking about writing this commentary for some time now to get out my opinions all at. I plan on doing these commentaries over a period of time over different topics. Some of the topics I will cover are the current product of the WWE, talent rosters, and PPV’s. My first commentary however is going to be on the history of wrestling that I have seen and the current expectations of fans..

Now I have been a wrestling fan for 19 of my 22 years of life. I remember back to the days of the early WrestleMania’s when they were the only PPV’s. This is before The Rock, Triple H, Evoultion or the pitiful Raw Diva Talent Search. Raw and SmackDown were not even television programs yet. The stars I remember most at that time were of course Hulk Hogan, Andre “The Giant”, Junkyard Dog, Bushwackers, Randy “Macho Man” Savage, and Ricky Steamboat. Back then wrestling was about wrestling. Watching the matches were the best part and most of the time the only part of the show; watching a flying elbow off the top rope or a leg drop onto a wrestler in the middle of the ring. Wrestling was more about skills in-side the ring then skills on a mic. There were very few gimmick matches because at the time there were hardly any hardcore wrestlers. A steel cage was as hardcore as most wrestlers got, and the cage was only brought out for special occasions. Wrestling was more a sport then a soap opera then.

Over the years times changed and so did the wants of wrestling fans. Wrestling became more flashy and more “Hollywood”. Storylines were instituted into a wrestlers character; a wrestler became more then an athlete he became an actor. Now, I know wrestling is scripted but when I was younger you had to have an enormous amount of talent to be able to step into the squared circle. Now wrestlers had to learn how to speak on a mic and be able to act like they were starring in a weekly soap opera. Weekly television shows were started to keep fans up to date of what was going on in wrestling. I still remember the early days of what is now RAW. Wrestling legends sitting around a table watching tape from a house show and discussing it and what was coming up in the following weeks. Hill Billy Jim always made funny remarks that always made me laugh. New talent emerged in the early 90’s to take the spotlight. Undertaker, Bret Hart, Ultimate Warrior, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Shawn Michaels could be seen weekly along with Big Boss Man and even The Mountie. Wrestlers began going for the bigger moves trying to out do one another. In the 1980’s climbing to the top rope usually signified that a wrestler was going for a finishing move. In the 90’s climbing to the top rope did not always mean a finisher was coming up. Now I was always mesmerized by top rope moves such as Undertaker’s walk along the rope. I could never figure out how a wrestler that big could balance himself that well. PPV’s soon became monthly events with the invention of Royal Rumble, Summer Slam, Survivor Series and the “In Your House” series. More gimmick matches were introduced including the ladder match. Now I can still remember watching the Shawn Michael’s vs. Razor Ramon Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Title. I always thought that, that match was the coolest thing I ever saw. Both men gave it their all in that match and put everything on the table. I could never imagine something as exciting but in the coming years I was mistaken.

By the mid-90’s storylines were prominent inclusions for wrestling. Every wrestler on TV was involved in a storyline of some kind. The amount of time a wrestler spent in the ring wrestling and on the mic slowly grew closer together. A new batch of wrestler emerged that will be remember for many years and are still missed by many today. Steve Austin, Kevin “Diesel” Nash, Ahmed Johnson, Scott “Razor Ramon” Hall, Marc Mero, Triple H and the Rock were becoming big names in the business. Factions of wrestlers were forming including the Nation of Domination. Storylines grew along with a wrestler’s personality. Feuds between wrestlers grew more intense and would go on longer then they had before. One match was not enough to put a feud to rest some wrestlers would be battling for a number of months. Wrestling styles and moves began growing to newer higher levels. Some wrestler’s were more high-flyers while some stuck to the more technical aspect of the sport. Over the next few years wrestling would grow to its highest popularity level ever and possibly will never be matched.

By the late 90’s wrestlers spent just as much time talking on a mic as they did wrestling. Storylines and a characters gimmick were the most focused part of wrestling. Factions of wrestlers were everywhere the next few years; D-X, The Corporation, and The Ministry were only a few of them. The newer talent from years before were now headlining. Steve Austin and The Rock could be seen on a weekly basis. This time was not very easy for the WWE though because they had some stiff competition from rival WCW. WCW had gone out and gotten wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. The NWO was formed in WCW and could possibly go down as one of the greatest factions in wrestling history that is before it got overloaded with useless characters. WCW was constantly dominating WWE in the ratings. WWE did not stand a chance until one PV back in 1998 with a very special guest. The PPV was WrestleMania 14, the main event pitted “Stone Cold” Steve Austin against Heavyweight Champion “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels, and the match featured a special enforcer by the name of Mike Tyson. That night the tide turned in favor of WWE. Their year long rating losing streak was to end the next night. I remember I was unable to watch that PPV live because that was my very first day of work after turning 16 a week earlier. I remember as soon as I got home from work I went online to find out the results I was shocked to say the least at what happened. The next night on Raw a new era of wrestling was born; Steve Austin was Champion, D-X was now formed with Triple H and X-Pac leading the charge. WCW did not have any new ideas to mount an attack against WWE. The NOW while still their most popular attraction was fast becoming a joke with new wrestlers joining ever single week. Vince McMahon was now an active member of the weekly television program. A week did not go by that he did not get a stunner from Austin or have a confrontation with a wrestler. I have a feeling that not many people know this but in the WWE Rule Book there is a statement that a wrestler will not be allowed to attack Vince McMahon in any kind of Storyline unless he is one of the top draws for the business and makes up for a large part of merchandise sales. That is probably why we never saw Doink “The Clown” feuding with Vince.

Part 2 will be posted once I have time to finish it. Today was a rough day at school so I need a break.

I'd say that was about a half return for HBK. Seeing Christian was good and I liked how Raw ended. I think that it would be a good angle for HHH and Orton to play mind games with each other since HHH did teach Orton a lot.

anyone else think they should turn HBK heel? i do. i miss shawn from DX. but they really should change his character now a bit. i would like to see him come back at Unforgiven and defeat Kane then interfere in the title match and help Hunter defeat Orton and then join Evolution. I think thatd be awesome. if u remember before he left, shawn was about to shake hands with HHH before Kane interrupted it. but i dont see this scenario happenin cus orton just won the title and i dont think they are gonna take it from him this early in his reign. if this did happen he would have to fued with shawn at least for one ppv match and then he could win the title back at the next ppv after this. but HHH/Orton fued has only just begun so i dont think it will go in this direction. just a thought tho. anyways i want shawn to go bad and take some people off guard when he returns.
