Brad Peyton, who helmed the global hit Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, has just been set by Warner Bros to rewrite & direct Lobo, the live action film based on the DC Comics franchise. Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman producing.

Lobo is an alien that works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Introduced as a hardened, rarely used hard boiled villain in the 1980s, the character remained in limbo until his revival as an anti-hero biker in the early 1990s, when he became on of the most popular characters in the DC Comics stable.

this one could go either way

while it's definitley a character I've been anticipating a movie in, so was Jonah Hex

and . . . well; lets just hope history doesn't repeat itself

The director attached doesn't impress me.

I was going to take a potshot at the article blurb for calling Journey 2 a global hit, but according to Wikipedia it made $320 million around the world. I can't believe it made that much money.

That's a bit of an understatement. He's only directed two movies, both were family film sequels, and they were worse than their predecessors. Which is saying a lot considering the previous movies were pretty bad as well.
