Arnold Schwarzenegger's reps declined to comment last week for our story that the former California Governor may be doing an animated series with producer Andy Heyward based on a superhero character created in partnership with comic book icon Stan Lee. Well, that's probably because they were in the process of booking the cover of Entertainment Weekly to unveil the new character. Called The Governator, it is a version of Schwarzenegger after he has left the Governor's office and becomes a crime fighter, Lee told EW. The Governator will run operations out of a secret high-tech crime-fighting center (aka Arnold Cave) under his house in Brentwood and will have a fleet of super vehicles and a closet full of “Super Suits” at his disposal. He will be surrounded by a gallery of sidekicks, including a 13-year-old computer whiz, and supervillains, including G.I.R.L.I.E Men, named after another Arnold-ism.

Schwarzenegger let news of the Governator slip a couple of weeks ago in an interview with a fan site, in which he said: "I am packaging a comic book character right now. I'm going to announce that sometime at the end of March or the beginning of April." Schwarzenegger is slated to unveil the animated series in a press conference at MIPTV on April 4.

Stan Lee is a legend but he needs to stop and just focus on all his movie cameos. lol

For more proof of his "not caring" anymore you should check out his "Guardian Project" for the National Hockey League.

He is now in search of "mainstream" fame. The average person probably doesn't know who he is and he wants to pursue anything in an effort to get that recognition.

See, I'd say the opposite. Why go for my recognition when he's probably pulling in big royalty cheques for Marvel movies.

Maybe he is just an old man who is bored? Comics are bigger than ever and he wants to cash in while the offers role in.

This show is intentionally being campy.

I can see that, but there's nothing about the trailer that's hilarious by any stretch.

Haha I wanted to ride one of those bikes through Hyde Park last year but I had to register somehow! :(

As for the Governator thing as campy as it's gonna be I'm still getting a laugh out of the G.I.R.L.I.E. Men Organisation! :D

He had also announced plans to voice the central character in an animated TV series called "The Governator".

The comic book style series had Schwarzenegger starring as a devoted family man who lives a double life as a superhero and has a lair under his home that not even his wife and children are aware of.

Producers decided late on Thursday to stop work on that project. "In light of recent events, A Squared Entertainment, POW, Stan Lee Comics, and Archie Comics, have halted production" on the 'Governator', they said in a statement.

The news of Schwarzenegger's out of wedlock son, now 13, with his family's housekeeper has seen him dubbed "The Sperminator".

Sad for the Schwarzenegger family. But if there is any positive it looks like Arnold is stopping his movie career to get things back on track with them.

He could make it up to them by giving them a Turbo Man toy.
