I think it is. I can't really recall any duel in cinema history that has had so many people wanting to see. I don't even think Anakin/Obi Wan had this much buzz and hype.

I think there was more hype for Spidey/Venom in Spider-Man 3 a few years back. Too many people know exactly how this showdown ends and too much has been shown in the first trailer for an extensive amount of hype. The movie as a whole may be one of the most anticipated in a while though.

First of all, the most anticipated duel in the history of cinema has already happened!
Brad Pitt vs. Edward Norton in Fight Club.

Well only in terms of Potter films is it a Big face off. For there is so many great duels before them. No doubt be amazing but not sure its its as cool as Jack and Davy Jones Dueling on a Mast or Obi Wan vs Vader in a New Hope or even Aragorn vs Lurtz. When see the movie then will tell but for now the answer will be ?

I've seen a lot of hype for the film, but not the duel.

I am pretty excited for this film! I thought the duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort at the end of fifth film was pretty amazing (Probably one of the few great things about that film!) but this next film is easily one of the most anticipated films in awhile. Idk about the duel specifically but definitely the movie.

I'm more interested in watching Ben Still and Bobby DeNiro duke it out for a third and final time in Little Fockers. Ohhhh mama!

I'd actually see Little Fockers if that happened.

One thing i will say is that the action in HP always leaves me wanting for more. I am not expecting much for the HP/Voldemort showdown.

Well, you're in luck because Part 2 is being described as an all-out action movie. Not only that, but I'm hearing they've extended the Harry/Voldemort duel so that it's not just them casting spells at the same time, Voldemort's killing curse rebounbding on him, then boom it's over. Word is they have more of a fight in the film.

I hope they add to the duel since the one in the book was a let down.

I hope it involes them shooting more spells at each other. Better not involve any fists because them fighting hand to hand would not look right.

Yeah, it was the mexican standoff at the end of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." Nothing has come close since.

I don't know I thought the For A Few Dollars More final showdown was pretty dramatic and epic.

I liked the way it was portrayed in the book, with the morning rays of sunlight coming in, but (from what we've seen) I think the final battle is going to be epic. I just hope the dialogue remains. I also hope they do something with the rising sun.
Now, for something off topic. I can never find my favorite TV spot for The Sorcerer's Stone. It's the one that includes a scene where Hagrid is dragging a Christmas tree through the snow (was that scene even in the movie?). I liked it because of its snowy scenery and inclusion of Randy Edelman's "Dragon's Heartbeat" (from Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story). It is a commonly used track for trailer music. If anyone is interested and wants to hear the music, it can be heard on YouTube. The cue that was used is found at 1:33 and 4:17. I've searched high and low for the TV Spot and have yet to find it. Does anyone else remember that TV Spot.

Harry vs voldemort may not be the most anticipated duel in the history of cinema but it is surely one of the most anticipated duel.
