Amazon Halts Sales of Japanese 'Rape' Video Game
A Japanese computer game that lets players simulate raping girls has had its sales blocked by Amazon.
The "RapeLay" video game was available to buy on the Web site via a third-party seller specializing in "hentai" — sexually explicit Japanese animation and comics.
"We determined that we did not want to be selling this particular item," an Amazon spokeswoman said.
RapeLay was reportedly created exclusively for the Japanese market, but a couple of "like new" copies were being offered on Amazon.
The game was released in 2006 by Illusion studio, based in Japan. Other titles from the studio include "Battle Raper" and "Artificial Girl."
According to game review site Giant Bomb, RapeLay is a "molestation simulation that allows you to terrorize a woman and her two teenage daughters, with events ranging from groping on a train to gang rape and forced abortions."

Leave the rape video game alone! Leave it alone!

Here's the thing, this game looks like it's in really bad taste, I don't mind Amazon not wanting to sell it. However, I bet there are plenty of movies and books with similar content that they have no problem selling and it sounds like their holding this to a double standard because it's a video game, and that I object to.

I guess its that you actively have to play the game in order for events to happen - and that it makes you the victimizer and not just an observer.
With a movie or book you just have to use your eyes and watch, and not have that first person involvement.

Yeah and murdering people by the hundreds is perfectly acceptable.

Having this game in your collection would be "Exhibit A" in a rape trial against you.

I wonder if there's some secret code you could type in to find a room where you can play Candy Land.

Yeah and murdering people by the hundreds is perfectly acceptable.

I guess it depends upon the tone of the game - in most games you are some sort of soldier or agent, and it's kill or be killed - in the game in question, no one is trying to rape you in the game, you just make them the victim - period.

But yeah they do sell Grand Theft Auto which is about crime

I was looking at the other Halo vids and there's one there where the guy gets killed by a flying traffic cone to the head lol

hmmm, I first saw it in Counterstrike, but Halo is where it was really brought to the level of art. It probably goes back to Doom or something.

Someone needs to write a book on the subject.

Quake would be my guess. You couldn't "crouch" in Doom. ;)

Well, if my 2 cents counts rape is a very touchy subject. The victim tries to fight back but is to weak, therefore being raped. In all these fighting/killing games, you have a choice to shoot and kill. I don't know but maybe its just me, It's good they stopped it.

You do have a point with the people your killing are generally trying to kill you in the first place....

Japan, why do you have to so weird? :(
