he started collecting when they were 5 cents. you want an original x men? hes got the run, you want the fantastic four original run? hes got it. he has since he was a kid and still does to this day... along with too many paperback books to count...

and he has no favorites, just better comics than some. he really enjoyed preacher, and constantine aka Hellblazer. reminds me though, he really likes iron man, keeps the early ones in the safe. he says comics have evolved too much to compare them or something, and theres something to that i guess.

Man, my dad used to have all the oringal Detective Comics when he was younger. Original Batman and Superman and everything. Then my grandmother apparently throw them out wehn they moved to Seattle and he went to college. Broke my heart to hear it.

I don't think he's ever completely forgiven her for that....

My collection definitely numbers in the thousands. (Between 1,000 and 3,000).

I have a few 10 cent comics - that's how much they were when I was a kid then they went up to 12 cents and then a quarter.

I have X-men back to 100 when the new team took over mostly - I think I may have a couple earlier, I also have Fantastic Four from 100 up.
I have The first, second and third appearances of Ironman in Tales of Suspense, and the first 10 issues of his own comic and a full run in that series for the 7 years I collected.
I also have the first 10 issues of Daredevil and almost all Daredeil & Black Widow and most of the series for the 7 years I collected.
Tons of Captain America, Avengers, Batman, Groo the Wanderer, x-Factor, eXcallibur and all kinds of other "X" titles.
I also have a Silver Age Wonder Woman comic from about the WW2 era.

I have quite a few listed over $1,000 and my bigggest is The Amazing Spider-man #1 which is listing at @ $32,000 now.

I'm playing around with the ARG for that new "Wanted" movie (the ARG is at FraternityofWeavers.com, if you're looking for it), and since I'm already excited about seeing the film, I decided to FINALLY pick up the TPB for it. WAY cool - it's got a permanent place on my shelf!

I was a big fan of the Xmen back whebn I was a kid. I collected from Day of futures past (141) to issue 230. I sold my collection to my brother and never continued. Today i found a torrent at mininova that had all 500 issues of Uncanny X-men in a 3 gb torrent. I am downloading that sucker and giving it a read.

The Annihilation series have been good as well
Nova is surprisingly good
the new Guardians of the Galaxy series has promise too,

Add to this.....

Guardians is good
The new Thor seems good too

Started reading some of the modern JLA it's been good enough so far.
Follow the major crossovers as well but they're usually on and off... the current crop of Secret Invasion and Final Crisis are starting to get a little convoluted. Looking forward to Ultimatum but hope they don't end up turning the Ultimate universe into the mainstream marvel universe.

As basically the follow up to the two Annihilation series I'm looking forward to War of Kings, shoudl be interesting throwing the Inhumans and Starjammers into that cosmic mix.

Of the oldies.....

Watchmen of course
Used to love Silver Surfer and most of the X titles at some point (the beginnings of the 2nd X-Men series was gold (well actually it was blue team but you get the idea)
Infinity Gauntlet was one of my fave crossovers then again I love Thanos he's a great character
