ok im going to ignore the haters killing my excitement for this movie...thanks for that by the way.

anyways im really excited that we're finally getting casting announcements and pictures. I'm really thrilled about the casting, save for Rosalie and Jasper but i'm getting over it.

Rosalie will do if she can act the part, and Jasper..well i hear that animal living on his head is a wig cus they can't actually dye his hair yet since he's finishing up another movie.

and this little collage makes me feel better about all the pics too, especially jasper.

alice is perfect. carlisle is perfect (i love peter facinelli), esme is great, and emmet is awesome (i hope they give him the curly hair though). and Edward is effing gorgeous so all in all i am thrilled and can't wait for this movie.

Yeah, the Jasper actor looks great with dark hair, but I just think they need to comb the wig a bit and it should be ok, or get a better wig. Rosalie looks great in the first pic though, and Alice is freaking perfect. And well Edward...duh, just look at the eyes...

Yay, I just finished the third book not too long ago and the cast looks great so far. Though I've only actually seen one in a movie, (Robert) they all look like they fit the part.

It has nothing to do with twilight zone, its basically a sort of teen romantic vampire movie, its an adaption of a book with the same name.

It's not really like Buffy since there are no Vampire Hunters, etc. It's just a romantic/action novel about a family of vampires living in Forks, Washington and a new girl moves there and one of the vampires falls in love with her.

yeah but buffy could kick vampire ass.

the major character in this novel can't go four seconds without nearly killing herself.

This looks like an "on the cheap" soap opera production of a forgettable series of young adult novels. To be honest...

well considering these are the books that knock harry potter off the number one spot every time, i think the movie stands a decent chance if its done well.

there is a lot of great dynamics with the characters and many characters have great and interesting backgrounds. its not some little teen soap opera. the books are well thought out and quite mature. i originally didn't wanna read these books cus i figured it was just another vampire romance, but this is completely different. its not a teen mockery of the idea of vampires basically.

so if the movie stays true to the books it could be pretty good. but this is all 'if' speaking. im just hoping the author makes them stay true to it.

Just with the number of fangirls (yes, I say fangirls because there aren't quite as many female readers) that go see this movie, I doubt it will be a flop at all, hehe.

Stephenie Meyer seems very inmersed in the process, so lets hope for the best.

haha look at the no name actors/actresses they are throwing into this thing, just the first picture reminds me of the covenant, and reminder i did not see that piece of trash, much like this movie i dont plan on seeing, because i knew it was going to be bad by first impression. i get the same impression from this one with their emo teenie boppin vampires.

but hell ill watch the trailer.
the first pictures have nothing to do with the actual film. they are just test shots to show off the chemistry between the cast. mostly they are just cast announcement photos to make the fans all giddy. at least wait till actual movie stills are released to make a judgement.

as for the no name actors, that's actually more of a positive sign. the moviemakers purposely steer clear of the big recognizable names because it puts too much of an automatic impression on the film, especially on popular book adaptations.

its the same case with harry potter...they CHOSE to put in no namers when they could have put in haley joel osmond. but they chose the no namers because honestly if they put big namers in their it would make it all seem ridiculous. no namers give the movie a clean slate.

not to forget Peter Facinelli. he was in fox's show 'fastlane' and is married to Jennie Garth (kelly from Beverly hills 90210)

i was actually surprised how many people of the cast i recognized and had heard of before, i was expecting complete no namers. but i like who they chose. people who have experience and a resume that fans can check to see what they can do but they aren't super popular that they make the film biased in anyway.

That kid looks 13...but then again, we don't know if they're even gonna make a sequel. i'm getting a bit ahead of myself. whatever, all that matters is that Edward is gorgeous (and James is smoking hot too). :D

people are so dead set that maybe they'll change their minds and sign this gasper ulliel or something. the point of edward is that he needs to be hot. robert is hot. STOP COMPLAINING PEOPLE HE'S THE BEST EDWARD WE COULD HAVE EVER HOPED FOR.

maybe 'most people' need to broaden their horizons beyond the big name hollywood actors. it only makes for a very limited view of talent.

actually robert pattinson, beyond the harry potter films that gave him his start, is not part of the 'teen drama circuit'. his last couple films consist of one that won an award at the Slamdance film festival and is about a twenty something guy experiencing a midlife crisis who hires a canadian life coach to help him become 'normal', and a biopic on salvador dali....im not seeing the teen drama circuit thing.

emo vampires: how do you define emo vampires? cus honestly i can't convince anyone that it's not 'emo' when most people's definitions of emo is basically anything they don't like....and as for this emo vampire they're fighting over...i really can't figure out where that is from considering the plot involves fighting over a human, and fighting between vampires. are you referring to the picture of the guy in a leather jacket? do leather jackets constitute emo too, these days?

basically, the only advice i can really give is if you don't think this film is gonna be something you'll like, then stop complaining to the people who are actually really excited about this film, and just ignore this thread. it's your own decision that you keep clicking this link and posting in this thread, and if the temptation to lurk this thread is really that tempting i guess it just kinda proves that this film does have something interesting to offer, whether anyone might think its gonna flop or not.

Actually I have seen at least one movie with each of those actors in it. I am just saying they are "no-name" because their name isn't going to be what pulls people in to the theater. The majority of people have probably seen that guy in Harry Potter or that girl in Panic Room but they won't be the attraction.

good for you for seeing movies these actors happened to have been in. i was talking about the most people you referred to in your previous post.

but honestly, whether they are no namers or a list celebrities. it doesnt matter so i don't really see why we keep getting arguments in here that seem to imply that this movie will flop because their are no big name actors. this movie's pull will come from the books fanbase.

Sounds kinda corny/cheesy, but it is actually written exceptionally well, and is very engrossing :P
I highly recommend it :D
i second that. i put off reading it for so long because i really didn't think it sounded that wonderful. but i couldn't put it down once i started reading it. Twilight is a very good book (as are all the others).

i second that. i put off reading it for so long because i really didn't think it sounded that wonderful. but i couldn't put it down once i started reading it. Twilight is a very good book (as are all the others).

ditto. when i heard "another vampire romance" i wasn't totally sold. but i'll admit mostly the book cover got me curious (i literally judge books by their covers...haha pun intended). then i read it and was very impressed. its maturely done, the vampire family complex is so different. and its not the typical "vampire seducing the innocent human" with the hot fangs and such. the vampire is very unwilling to harm or bite this human. its just so...original.
and i love that these vampires dont have fangs. its so much more...brutal. guh. i love it lol.

I've been hanging around Twilight Moms way too much, but they are our insider source for now. Anyway, I was reading around and found this description of a scene they were filming and it just had me trembling all over...:omg:

I didn't see a growling scene. One of the scenes, the most intense one, was of him by his car with Emmett, and Bella walks down the stairs and past him. They zoomed the camera in to his fists balling up on the door of his car and then he rolls back and puts his head back on the roof of the car and the camera zooms in and you see this excruciating look on his face and his pitch black eyes. It is INSANE - I get chills just thinking about it!!!!!

Well, think of the fact of how Leah is always grumpy when Bella's around and how Jacob might now she has imprinted on him because they can read each other's minds when their wolves. Jacob has probably rejected her, but she can never move on if she has imprinted on him.

i think it has to do with the fact that all the werewolves can hear each other's thoughts and get inside each other's heads.
like she said in eclipse, when she dreams of kissing bella, what is she supposed to do with that lol??

i ono. imprinting involves the purest kind of love from what i have gathered with Quil's case (i think i got that name right?). i just don't see it with leah, although it would be interesting if it were the case.

true, its not very empowering to a girl but she actually did start to see happiness again when she was hanging with jacob.

and when stephenie explained that she wanted to convey that edward leaving was more like a woman married for ten years being widowed, than just her love leaving her, i kinda sympathized more.

all in all though it just goes to show that her writing is freakin incredible: just reading her depression makes us feel like we've lost the love of our lives too :(

Just found this from an extra on the set:

Alice and Jasper are great together, and their respective actors together are extremely touchy-feely and always together, though I have never seen them kiss. Jackson is very intense. Sometimes he goes off by himself and just watches what's going on. His and Ashley's entrance into the cafeteria will be great...they ARE Jasper and Alice. Both are very detailed and committed to their characters. They are the less social kids of the Cullen clan. They look much better in person than in pictures(including poor Jacksper and his hair), which is actually something that can be said for all of the actors, in my opinion.

-In Rosalie and Emmett's walk into the cafeteria, Emmett is supposed to say or do something make Rosalie smile. In one take, I saw him slap her ass. Yeah. (EDIT: just to clear up any confusion - movie Emmett is really into himself and knows he's hot. He's kind of the perv of the Cullen clan(look for some disapproving looks from Edward).

They don't fly, they just pretty much jump from tree to tree. The scene is in the script sides. BTW, those are the stunt doubles, not actually Rob and Kristen.

New scene being filmed:
A scene from Twilight involving Bella, Charlie, and several Forks High students was filmed at the cozy and quaint Carver Café this week. And to answer your question, no you are not crazy; this is not a part of the book. It is however an important and pivotal scene in the movie that shows the conflict Bella is feeling over her not-so-normal relationship with Edward. It is also the place she bonds with Charlie.

4) In regards to the question, "Is Breaking Dawn the last book in the Twilight Saga?" The answer is, "I don't know." It's the last one for a while, at least. Of course there will be Midnight Sun, but that's covering old material. I'm not sure if I will go forward with the Twilight characters--I'm a little burned out right now. Ask me again in two years.

lol, okay, i'm not that into it. :P but i feel like it'll fill in a lot of blanks. Edward is the only character that i don't really have a grasp on. i mean, i feel like i could tell you about Rosalie, Alice, Emmett, and Jasper (kinda) and how they react to situations. But Edward is the one who i don't really get. I know how he'll react to things Bella does, but not to things that everyone else does. It's just gonna be a lot different, and i absolutely cannot wait for it. :)

"She came to [shoot] the coffee shop [scene], and she orders a vegetarian plate," revealed director Catherine Hardwicke. "Of course, the joke is that [some of] the vampires are vegetarian vampires. Our vampires don't eat humans — they eat deer and animals — so that's a little inside joke."

With that order, Meyer might get the same sort of laughs as the "I'll have what she's having" line delivered by Rob Reiner's mother in "When Harry Met Sally." Those involved in the film, however, compared Meyer's wink at the fans to an old gimmick employed by Alfred Hitchcock.

"It was a little Hitchcock moment, which I love," explained Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in the flick and was on set the day of Meyer's cameo. "I love his movies, where he throws himself in there as a small little speck. [Meyer] did a great job, and I'm sure it's going to be cool for her to see herself in her movie."

I walked , and I was like, 'How did you feel about that, Stephenie?' and she was like, 'It's great.' "

Despite working on several novels, including the soon-to-be-released "The Host," Meyer was on the "Twilight" set during the preproduction process, answering questions for the actors.
