So David Slade, the director of Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night has been tapped to direct 'Eclipse'.

Personally, I really liked Hard Candy so I'm pretty pumped on this decision.

This has me much more excited now. Hard Candy was fantastic so he was a very good and interesting choice.

This is why I don't think the second one will be as good as the first or how good the third one will be. Weitz just is not in the same league as Hardwicke and Slade.

I understand it's for young girls and older lonely older women. I am neither, thank Jeebus!

That's a good one. I am neither( Not, an Older Lonley woman) but, a fan of the books. Not a fanatic though. These books & movies are far from top Franchises Artisticwise.

But a very good read in an annoying teenage girly kind of way.

Eclipse was my favorite of the series so I'd much rather see that one than New Moon. Slade's not bad either so maybe it'll be the best of the series.

Any thoughts on Breaking Dawn translating to film? I seriously doubt they could make it with less than an R rating..

Discuss?

They were shooting 'New Moon' down the block from my hotel when I was in Vancouver a couple weeks ago, at like 2am.

Melissa Rosenberg, the scipt writer, recently said in an interview that she hasn't been hired to write the BD script yet, but if she does it would have to be seriously toned down to PG-13.

It would be silly if all 3 movies were successful and they do not do BD in this movie trilogy. It be like Harry Potter not doing Deathly Hallows. I am soure Summitt has the opition too pick up BD after New Moon is done. And likely will be greenlit sometime during the filimg of Eclipse like Eclipse was greenlit during New Moon.
As for rated R i don;t think so i mean Underwrold movies are PG-13 so i wouldn;t worry about BD being too graphic. Its just the birthing part i mean come on.

I think it's being taken a bit out of context. But I think it's no secret that 'Twilight' was by no means a good movie - but he's the director of the sequel, therefore he has the opportunity to do it right. There's nothing wrong with trashing a movie you weren't connected to..

Thanks alot I just woke up my husband laughing my ass off. That was just too perfect. He's right it was a godawful movie. Really too bad that it did not live up to half of what the book was.

Good god, just wait until all the tween girls get a hold of this. They will demand he be replaced for Eclipse. No on bashes their Robert Pattison/excuse me Twilight

I'm going to intervene and say you're picking on the film unfairly. The CGI, given that the shot its being composited onto is set in broad daylight, is very strong, even in the work-in-progress state it's in at the moment.

Come November, I imagine the wolves will be better integrated into their surroundings.

It looks decent enough, the acting doesn't seem to have changed all that much, but it's not completely bothersome. Didn't expect that wolf transformation, doesn't look too bad for early CGI. I'll either wait for the reviews of this one, or just skip it and wait for DVD.

Art_of_crime

so is this guy supposed be a wolf, or a werewolf?

both.

according to European and some western folklore werewolves were people who became actual wolves through one process or another.
It was Hollywood in the 40's and 50's that gave rise to the idea that they became a hybrid of a man and a wolf. At that time they could not make a suit that looked like a real wolf and make it believable, so they made the Lon Chenney jr. look. http://www.lonchaney.com/images/wmmain.jpg
That is the honest history not the mythos from the book series.
So in the book they become unbastardized werewolves.

The acting is the 1st thing that I noticed. & I agree nothing has changed &, thats not good. I would have thought that they would have improved on that 1st off. But, then again I just watched Panic Room with Jodie Foster & Kristen. & she was acting the sameway. In a few others movies that I saw her in she was the same. I just think that she has 1 level & that's it. :sleepy:

From the clip Robert seems to have made some improvement.

As for Jacob the wolfe looks ok. Theses aren't werewolves, but actual Wolves. But, I did notice that the wolve's hair was very long & it looked more like a dog than a wolfe.

I will probably see the movie. But, I don't see any major improvements(outside of the story) in the movie. Hopefully, I will be wrong but, I don't think so.

Technically they are just shapeshifters that chose the form of wolves. This was mentioned in the books, in either Eclipse or Breaking Dawn. I think there was a distinction made that actual werewolves can't change at will? Or maybe that part comes from Underworld leaking into my brain.

as for the trailer: um utter disappointment. The scene where Bella breaks down in the forest is like my favourite scene and the ***** didn't even cry! She just lies there! It better just be that they left that part of the trailer because if that's all there is I'll be peeved. That girl has no emotion and it's effing annoying because Bella was not like that. The special effects also still suck. The wolf part might as well have subbed in a Disney animation of the old days. Hopefully this will get better when the full film is released and finished.

The birthday party and the Edward/Bella smooching was good though.

I would have to re-read the chapters in the books. But, they may or maynot be offshoots from Werewovles.

But they are wolves( that is what they stated in the Book) & in fact they made Jacob look like a dog.

Werewolves, are more wild & undomesticated(Uncontrolable) once they turn they don't know from their human life. Pretty much on the hunt & thats about it.

I do like the point of them(wolves)being able to phase at will pretty much.

Well think I'm gonna be done with this thread too, another ***** feast under way.

And by the way. Bella did not cry in the forest scene in the book. She just froze up for the entire conversation and then she laid there. Also, its clear from the teaser, they spliced tons of scenes, when it pans out and shows her alone, she is obviously in a different spot standing there from where she's laying down. Christ.

Get a Grip. I have seen the movie(Twilight) & My previous posts prove that. I was looking forward to seeing these movies because, I am a fan of the books. Good writing, not great but good. & then the movie came out & I against better judgement( I should have known better ) went to see the movie. & Just as tons of People & critics stated. Total crap.

As for Joan Jett. You don't want to go there, I do know who Joan Jett is. I am not a tweenie. You can't even compare Kritsen to Denzel. The 2 aren't even in the same universe. His talent is beyond messure.

People like what they like, & People don't like what they don't like. Good Morning, Good Afternoon & Good Night.

Case in Point the New transformers looks like crap also. Just bigger Autobots & more of them with lame jokes. But, the movie will make money.

Twilight Sequel Trailer Draws Record Online Viewers
10 June 2009 2:36 AM, PDT

The first trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon available online has been viewed 10.6 million times since it was uploaded onto MySpace.com and MTV.com last week, according to published reports. On MySpace, the trailer set a new record, with 4.2 million views on its online debut. What makes those figures even more astounding is the fact that the movie won't even be released theatrically until November 20.

I have to say Panther, it looks like a lot more people didn't think it was crap, people who don't like something have to ***** and moan and push on about it more than people who do like it, especially when what they hate is a hit because the majority of people then found it amusing. It must be annoying huh? You have become a troll in my opinion.

The Movie has a fanbase, that was never a question on that. & I was 1 of those Millions looking at the new Trailer. & Keeping my fingers crossed that they would improve on everything from the 1st movie. The look is better but, once again the acting from what was shown hasn't. If that is a Troll, then just deal with it. Not everyone agrees on everthing.

For numbers, even the crappiest movie will bring in Million & millions of dollars. Just take a Look at Angels & Deamons, Terminator, Land of the Lost, etc. It still doesn't make then great movies. & You know what they say about opinions, Everyone has one & everyones stinks. :waa::waa::waa:, don't cry over Twilight or New Moon or Eclips. There are tons of movies that I just ain't feeling along with millions & million of other people. This is a Discussion board where people talk about things they like & dislike.

Wrong, this is a discussion board were people talk about LOTS of things, all you ever do is complain. I only ever see you post in this one or the Harry Potter thread and all you do is complain about the movies and how inferior to the books they are, thats your opinion, fine, but after about 20 posts in each thread stating the same thing about how much you don't like the movie versions. I wouldn't care so much but ALL you do is post about how much you don't like the movie versions, move on please, you are so at troll status. And your responses are always asinine and rude, and I'm done with it.

No, actually I like OOTP, not loved but liked it well enought. & FYI all movies are pale when it comes to their books. It is just that some people can get it right when making the movie.
But, I will say it again. It's the screenwriter. & I am not the only one. Try going to just about any movie board. you will find Tons of fans saying the samething. They hype of the movie prior to release & the movie never lived up to their hype. & I will be there front & center that 1st day to see HBP. It is my favorite book. But, I an not holding my breath. Move on, really. Just hit the ingnore button or whatever:rolleyes:

Discussion:), good bad or whatever. I do like hearing different points of view eventhough I don't agree. I do love movies Tv, book, etc...regardless & talking about them what I like or dislike. & just wait because the movie isn't even out yet. just wait until the movie comes out one way or another. This isn't anything yet.

& about a week or so the new discussion will be HBP because, fans have been waiting over a year for that movie. & Being that it was pushed back to make the better movie, they better not fumble with this. :nono:

As far as going back to post in a thread that I posted in. Well, if someone replies to me I thinnk it rude not to respond. Ignoring someone when speaking to you no matter the subject matter( crusing or verbal abuse not included) comes off lack of manners. Just like you have responed to me. My time is limited due to the fact that I have a career & Family to take care of. It could also take me days to respond to an old post.

I like the board good or bad, & Movies good or bad. & I won't let anything stop me from voicing my thoughts. We will just have to agree to disagree. But, what I won't do is Call other board members names or attack them. I will jest & Mock them all in good fun. But never mean or abusive

Now, the movie or actors playing them is a Horse of a Different color . All bets are off.

Saw the panel at Comic Con (thanks to the fans, I missed the Disney 3D panel ).

The footage itself was decent, and Robert Patterson proclaiming to one fan that "it's just a role" was funny. However, the 4000 screaming fans who would scream at anything made my ears bleed.

Moderator: So, there were some challenges on the set. What do you think Robert?
Robert: Well....
*SCREAMING*

I wouldn't be surprised if the next day, all the screaming fans lost their voices.

Victoria is being replaced:

We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.

Ms. Lefevre's representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August.

If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.

Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’s principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production.

Contrary to Ms. Lefevre’s statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story.

The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project - which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment - makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

apparently Bryce Dallas Howard is taking it over.

I know I'm going to get yelled at for this, but has anyone's Twilight excitement died down? I completely lost mine and fell in love with REAL vampires, like in Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Honestly, Stephanie Meyer ripped off half of her books. Breaking Dawn was written by her editor based on her notes. She stole the title "Breaking Dawn" from a freshman in high school because she couldn't come up with one on her own. I'm not telling you to hate it, I'm just telling you my reasoning behind why it's a crap-tastic book.

According to Wikipedia...

Breaking Dawn is split into three separate parts. The first part details Bella's marriage and honeymoon with Edward, which they spend on a private island, called Isle Esme, off the coast of Brazil. Two weeks into their honeymoon, Bella realizes that she is pregnant with a half-vampire child and that her condition is progressing at an unnaturally accelerated rate. After contacting Carlisle, who confirms her pregnancy, she and Edward immediately return home to Forks, Washington. Edward, concerned for Bella's life and convinced that the fetus is a monster as it continues to develop with unnatural rapidity, urges her to have an abortion. However, Bella feels a connection with her unborn baby and refuses.

The novel's second part is written from the perspective of shape-shifter Jacob Black, and lasts throughout Bella's pregnancy and childbirth. Jacob's Quileute wolf pack, not knowing what danger the unborn child may pose, plan to destroy it, also killing Bella. Jacob vehemently protests this decision and leaves, forming his own pack with Leah and Seth Clearwater. Bella soon gives birth, but the baby breaks many of her bones and she loses massive amounts of blood. In order to save her life, Edward changes her into a vampire by injecting his venom into her heart. Jacob, who was present for the birth, almost immediately "imprints"—an involuntary response in which a shape-shifter finds his soul mate—on Edward and Bella's newborn daughter, Renesmee.

The third section of Breaking Dawn shifts back to Bella's perspective, finding her changed into a vampire and enjoying her new life and abilities. However, the vampire Irina misidentifies Renesmee as an "immortal child", a child who has been turned into a vampire. Because "immortal children" are uncontrollable, creating them has been outlawed by the Volturi. After Irina presents her allegation to the Volturi, they plan to destroy Renesmee and the Cullens. In an attempt to survive, the Cullens gather other vampire clans from around the world to stand as witnesses and prove to the Volturi that Renesmee is not an immortal child. Upon confronting the gathered Cullen allies and witnesses, the Volturi discover that they have been misinformed and immediately execute Irina for her mistake. However, they remain undecided on whether Renesmee should be viewed as a threat to vampires' secret existence. At that time, Alice and Jasper, who had left prior to the confrontation, return with a Mapuche called Nahuel, a 150-year-old vampire-human crossbreed like Renesmee. Nahuel demonstrates that the crossbreeds pose no threat, and the Volturi leave. Edward, Bella, and Renesmee return to their home in peace.

So, I'm assuming the fourth movie is all the pregnacy stuff. And the fifth is Bella as a vampire and that baby.

I'm a bit confused about the twilight series. In the first installment Bella meets Edward who she finds out is a vampire. Then in the second installment he leaves and Bella develops a friendship with Jacob and gets drawn into the world of werewolves but then Edward returns and proposes to Bella. Then in the third installment Bella has to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob and she chooses Jacob. Can you tell me what you think will happen in Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2 which are the last two installments in the franchise?

If yes then if Part 1 is being released this November and Part 2 is being released in November of next year then when will Part 3 be released? Also if there's going to be a fifth Twilight Movie then what will the name of it be if it's going to show Bella as a vampire and her baby that she will have in Breaking Dawn? And when will it be released? I hope someone can answer these questions for me. Thanks.

^There is no part 3 of the movie. While the book is split into three, they're probably going to combine the first two parts of the book into the first part and part three into the second one. My guess is they'll just go with Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Breaking Dawn Part 2.

I'm watching the repeat now. There were some good moments. The opening sketch hilarious. Jason's monologue was great. And, I loved the Justin Timberlake-Mila Kunis presentation. Can't believe Timberlake got to grope Kunis. That lucky bastard.

From what I saw of it, Sudekis's monologue was definitely the best part. "WHERE MY KING'S SPEECH PEOPLE AT?" lol

It's nice to know that after making all those billions of Dollars they're sparing no expense when it comes to poster creation:

I'm saddened to say I've seen the movies. Believe me, this poster is probably being extremely accurate in its dipiction of the entire movie. In fact, I thought at first that this poster was a gif of the whole film.

I didn't even say I saw them under my own free will.

I saw the first twilight when it was on TV. I had to turn it off half way in even in half paying attention working on something... It was still torture
