Well
I'm in the middle of the whole pregnancy thing. Jacob just threw his doggy bowl at Rosalie. Is this the bit that people didn't like? Cause I'm finding it all rather interesting. Fits along with the themes and rest of the story in my book. As of right now my opinion is still that series just gets better as it goes.

My progress in Breaking Dawn.
Jacob just imprinted on Renesme. Holy ****, I was NOT expecting that in anyway. This book ****ing rules. horrifying, very horrifying, that last chapter, I can't even imagine it on film, but this book is amazing. I don't think I've ever been so shocked.

Okay, I've read the first book in the series, and my reaction to it is just so-so. I will say that it was decent for what it was, but I just can't understand what all the hype is for. I'm uncertain whether I want to continue reading the books or not.
As for the movie, I'll still give it a shot, but my expectations aren't as high as they would be for another fantasy series like, say, Harry Potter. From the trailers/TV spots, it looks like they've stayed close to the book, but I hop it'll be better than the book, which I think it will because the movie will get rid of all of Bella's internal feeling/thoughts. I thought that was what made the book drag, IMO.

Just finished Breaking Dawn last night. Its without a doubt my favorite in the series. as much as I woulda loved having Jane and especially Caius get their faces ripped off, I liked how the ending played out. It'll be cool to see the powers flowing back and forth on screen I think, they'll give em some nice special effects. I just liked how it played out. It reminded me of the ending of Kill Bill Vol. 2. An awesome conversation and scenes with Bill and Beatrix with a small amount of action but it was incredibly satisfying.

Ok, here we go:
Edward and Bella walk into the Cullen house.
Bella: It’s incredible.. so light, and open.. you know
Edward: What did you expect? Coffins and dungeons and moats?
Bella: No, not the moats
Edward: Not the moats..
Edward: This is the one place we don’t have to hide..
Edward: I told them not to do this.
In the kitchen:
Rosalie: Does she even like Italian?
Emmett: Her name is Bella,...
Carlisle: I'm sure she'll love it.
Rosalie: Oooph, get a whiff of that!
Esme: Here comes the human.
Esme: Bella, we’re making Italiano for you.
Bella: Oh..
Edward: Bella, this is Esme, my mother for all intents and purposes.
Bella: Bon giorno ?
Esme: Molto bene!
Carlisle: You’ve given us an excuse to use the kitchen for the first time.
Esme: I hope you’re hungry.
Bella: Yeah, absolutely.
Edward: She already ate.
Rosalie breaks the bowl.
Rosalie: Perfect!
Bella: Yea-.. It’s because.. I know you- I know you guys don’t eat. Of course.
Esme: Of course.. that’s very considerate of you.
Edward: Ignore Rosalie, I do.
Rosalie: Yeah, let’s just keep pretending this isn’t dangerous for all of us.
Bella: I would never.. tell anybody, anything.
Carlisle: She knows that.
Emmett: Yeah well the problem is, you two have gone public now, so...
Rosalie: No she should know, the entire family will be implicated when this ends badly.
Bella: Badly.. as in.. I would become the meal?
Enter Alice and Jasper.
Alice: Hi Bella! I’m Alice. Oh.. you do smell good.
Edward: Alice.. what are you-
Alice: It’s okay Edward, Bella and I are gonna be great friends.
Carlisle: Oh sorry, Jasper is our newest vegetarian, it’s a little difficult for him.
Jasper: It’s a pleasure to meet you.
Alice: It’s okay Jasper, you won’t hurt her.
Edward: Alright, eehhh.. I’ll give you a tour of the rest of the house.
Alice: I’ll see you soon.
Bella: .. Okay
Carlisle: I think that went well..
Esme: Clean this up.. NOW!
Upstairs, Edward and Bella.
BELLA: Graduation Caps?
EDWARD: Um. Yeah, Private joke, we matriculate a lot.
BELLA: What a nightmare, repeating high school.
EDWARD: True, but the younger we start out in a new place, the longer we can stay there. Come on
Edward's room.
EDWARD: Um. yeah, this is my room.
BELLA: No bed?
EDWARD: No, um, i dont sleep.
BELLA: Ever?
EDWARD: No, not at all.
Bella: Okay..
BELLA: You have so much music. what are you listening to..
[CLAIR DE LUNE STARTS PLAYING]
EDWARD: Thats debussy.. err..
BELLA: Clair de lune is great.
Edward: What?
Bella: Err.. I can't dance.. eh..
Edward: Well.. i could always make you..
Bella: I'm not scared off you
Edward: You really shouldn´t have said that
Outside on the treetops.
EDWARD: You better hold on tight spidermonkey.
EDWARD: Do you trust me?
BELLA: In theory.
EDWARD: Then close your eyes.
There you go. :)

Pre-sales for Twilight are doing rather well:
Twilight's Happy Halloween
Twilight's Happy Halloween(E! Online) Los Angeles (E! Online) – Sure it's Halloween, but Christmas trees are already up—and so are Twilight ticket sales.
Fandango reported that as of noon today the teen vampire movie was accounting for 51 percent of all daily ticket sales. (E! Online and Fandango are both owned by Comcast.) At MovieTickets.com, business was less frenetic—Quantum of Solace was the No. 1 attraction, followed by High School Musical 3—but Twilight still came in as the site's third-hottest ticket.
All in all, not a bad showing considering the movie isn't already in theaters (like HSM3) and isn't opening in two weeks (like the new James Bond). It's opening in three weeks.
"Twilight is the type of movie with a hard-core fanbase that wants to get its seat secure as soon as possible," says Box Office Mojo's Brandon Gray.
Still, Gray cautions that advance ticket sales don't tell the full box-office story.
"Sometimes it leads to a massive opening, like Sex and the City and Harry Potter," Gray says. "But it doesn't always."
The blood will tell. In about 21 days. Around the time when Valentine's Day cards go on sale.

EW interview with Stephenie:
With her beloved book finally hitting the big screen, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer sat down with EW for an in-depth interview about the Rob Pattinson casting controversy, Breaking Dawn's mixed reception, the deal with Edward and Bella's big kiss, and what she's working on next.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: First and foremost, what was it like seeing your story on the big screen?
STEPHENIE MEYER: I was terrified for days in advance before I saw Twilight for the first time. I was so worried that it was going to be horrible and break my heart. I'd seen things that were really good, but for all the time I'd spent on the set, I'd probably seen 10 minutes of the movie altogether. So I asked if it was okay if some of my friends watch with me because I have these great friends who are really positive and they love everything! I was really worried about it but we got in there and they put it on and I had my paper and my pen because it was a rough cut and I wanted to give feedback on things I felt needed to be changed. And I didn't write a single thing down because I was so involved. The characters were speaking the way they should and the heart was there. I could have watched it all night in a loop if I could have.
Why did you demand that Edward and Bella's big kissing scene be toned down?
The problem is if you're going to continue with the other movies, there's a very gradual build to their physical relationship. And what Edward is capable of when he first meets Bella changes very much by the time he's become more committed to the relationship. They reshot the first kiss scene and actually added a special effect and some really cool things that added so much. And it's the only kiss scene.
You also asked for some minor script changes and insisted on Kellan Lutz's casting as Emmett. Did you always feel comfortable putting your foot down?
My personality is such that I have a really hard time being critical with other people. I can be critical of myself all day long. But I hate to step in and say, ''I really wish this was different.'' But it's been good for me just in general to have to speak up because I am so invested in this. I've forced myself, like with the Emmett situation, to take a step forward and say, ''I don't like this.'' And that's hard for me, but I'm glad of every time I did it and I don't think I stepped on too many toes and everyone seems to still like me.
What do you think of Rob Pattinson?
He's a very mesmerizing person to be around. He's got such a compelling personality. I don't think you'd want him for a boyfriend. And you couldn't just be his friend because he's terribly sexy!
Were you worried when fans were outraged over his casting?
It broke my heart. Because I've had my tiny bit of celebrity, I'm aware of how hurtful those things can be. I apologized to him for ruining his life. He said his mom was sending him links like, ''Oh no, they called you a gargoyle!'' They just raked him over the coals. The way he took it was a lot more positive than the way I would've handled it. He was like, ''I'm going to prove them wrong. I'm going to go out there and prove them wrong.'' The movie hasn't come out yet and he's won over 99.9 percent of the people who didn't approve of him as Edward. And when they see the movie, oh my gosh, there's no way not to love him! It's really too bad in some ways because Twilight is going to be limited by the fact that this is a vampire romance and it's basically aimed at teens. If not for that, his performance in my opinion is Oscar-worthy.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Backing up, have you recovered from the very split, very passionate response to Breaking Dawn?
STEPHENIE MEYER: It's been hard. The book did so much better than I thought it would. So many more people read it than I thought would. And then the negative reaction was so much more than I was expecting. Everything was more! I knew that that was coming because I had read all of the expectations people had: ''If this doesn't happen in the end, I'm going to burn the book!'' I already knew the story so that didn't affect what happened, it just made me nervous for it to come out. But in the end I just had to say, ''This is the way this story goes.'' It's almost like history to me. This is what happened! You can't mess with what happened. But I've been surprised at how hard it is to have people in some senses turn on you. That's weird for me. But it was weird to have people like me too.
Have you moved on?
It just got to the point where it was ruining my life to read these hate-filled, poisonous things about me. It was kind of horrifying. I really did have to learn to distance myself. I'm too negative of a person naturally, so I don't need any extra negativity. I'm not an optimist. One hundred people can tell you, ''Oh, I love this, it's so great!'' and one person can say, ''I hate this, you're stupid.'' And that's the one I listen to because that's who I am. [Laughing] So I have to be careful.
Despite the negativity, was there some happiness for you after Breaking Dawn was published?
I didn't feel the sense of completion when I finished the book. I felt the sense of completion when it was out there and knowing that the end capped the story. It's real when it's published. The whole story was there. Finished. Stand alone. And it wasn't whether anybody liked it besides me — I'd done it. I felt a sense of crossing the finishing line. So that was really positive.
When you returned home after a grueling tour for Breaking Dawn, you discovered that your unfinished manuscript for Midnight Sun had leaked onto the Internet, and you released a statement saying you were permanently shelving the story. Do you still feel the same?
The funny thing about that statement is I didn't actually write the majority of it. I wrote about three single-spaced Word document pages of just real pain — with sort of a laugh on the end so everything was kind of tongue-in-cheek. And there were lawyerly people who thought it just wasn't a good way to do it. I didn't want to feel misrepresented in the letter and other people didn't want me to be too emotionally vulnerable. So in the end only the one or two sentences written by me seem really jarring, and people didn't get that there was sort of a joke in there. For example the part that's me is where I said, ''If I wrote it now everybody would end up dying.'' But that was a joke! And it sounded so serious amidst all the lawyer talk and I think my fans thought, Wow, she's threatening to kill everyone! [Laughing] I felt kind of bad about that. I never felt any anger, actually. Just a lot of sadness. I mean it was a sucker punch — like someone came up behind you and just hammered you in the kidneys and you had no idea it was coming.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Is Midnight Sun still dead to you, or can you see finishing and publishing it in the future?
STEPHENIE MEYER: It's really complicated, because everyone now is in the driver's seat, where they can make judgment calls. ''Well, I think this should happen, I think she should do this.'' I do not feel alone with the manuscript. And I cannot write when I don't feel alone. So my goal is to go for, like, I don't know, two years without ever hearing the words Midnight Sun. And once I'm pretty sure that everyone's forgotten about it, I think I'll be able to get to the place where I'm alone with it again. Then I'll be able to sneak in and work on it again.
Do you have the energy to start working on a new book right now?
Actually, I think being able to write would be the best thing for me. I have two projects I want to work on. But the movie has been so time-consuming — all the publicity and the merchandise to approve. But I want to get in and write something totally different, a whole new world, and lose myself in that. I think that will be the most healing thing for me. So that's my goal.
What stories are kicking around in your head?
I'm a little more hesitant to say what I'm working on, though, because people for some reason seem to take that as some kind of contract: ''You said you were working on this so now you have betrayed my trust by not doing it!'' But I'm thinking I'm actually leaning towards the mermaids' story right now. Years ago...I tried to write an epic poem. It was supposed to be, like, ''The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,'' right? And I couldn't make it work, it was horrible. But I loved the story in it. So that has become part of the back story to this one. Some of the characters are mermaids. Though, again, they're not mermaids like you've known mermaids. They're completely different. And I'm not going to use the word ''mermaid'' in the book — they're sirens.
After all the incredible highs and lows of the past year, do you feel tougher now?
I would say that I am much more fragile now than I was in the beginning of the year. I am not tougher. Nooooo. [Laughing] In a way, I'm really glad about that. As an author, you have to live in a glass house. If you have walls up, you can't see the world around you to interpret it into your stories. And when people start throwing bricks at your glass, you can't fill in the holes with cement. You just have to put more glass in and it's just more delicate than it was before. Being vulnerable and fragile is kind of essential to being able to translate your emotions into a printed work. On the plus side of not being tougher, I don't feel jaded. I don't feel like I've lost my wonder at the good things or my horror at the bad. That's good, right? If I stopped really feeling things I wouldn't be able to write anymore.

Feel bad that she is so struck by the negative commentary. Breaking Dawn was by far my favorite and I'd like to kick people in the gut for just ****ting all over it. People work really hard on this, I mean, its different if its like her first book and people didn't really like it. But when it comes to the end of a series that has become to momentous and you've had the story done and people think they have the right to just spit on you for it. I just wanna hurt them. Especially the crap with midnight sun.

Some interesting info:
Two weeks before the film even hits theaters, Twilight shows have already sold out.
According to Fandango, Twilight is accounting for two-thirds of all ticket sales and more than 100 premiere screenings have already sold out. This bodes well for the teen vampire love story and its burgeoning franchise.
The established James Bond franchise can't keep up. Quantum Solace is doing well overseas, but here in the States, with its premiere only 8 days away, the new 007 accounts for only 6% of Fandango sales.
It might even reflect a change in movie audiences, with most of Twilight's audience mostly comprised of teenage girls, as oppose to the young male demographic studios usually target with films such a Quantum Solace.

Gonna have to disagree with that about 1000% I don't know how anyone can like the first three and possibly think Breaking Dawn blows. Its kinda....wrong. Especially the people that say stuff like "It was so weird, how can that happen? Thats not supposed to be able to happen." one
In the trailers it looks like edward can go out in the sunlight, or at least on a cloudy day, but still in the middle of the day. Does sunlight not have any affect on Vampires in this continuity?
Two
Are these romance novels that just happen to have paranormal characters?

That didn't bother me. I mean that seems to happen with a lot of vampire stories. Happened on Angel.
I just feel like she recycled too much from Forever Dawn when she wrote BD. But I don't hate it or anything. I was just disappointed with it. I mean I've seen a lot of people going of on how it's just a trilogy to them and blah blah.
They can go out in the sun. They just dont in front of humans because of the way they look in sunlight. Just a different kind of vampires.

vamps can go out in sunlight, but they sorta...sparkle. That's why they live in Forks, Washington. It's usually cloudy and rainy so they can go outside and interact with others during the day.
They aren't just romance novels. Yes, there is a love story and that is the main focus, but there is a lot of action/adventure stuff in them too.

President-Elect Obama Reads ‘Twilight,’ So Is He Team Edward Or Team Jacob?
Published by Josh Horowitz on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 3:17 pm.
Barack Obama President-Elect Barack Obama truly has a full plate. Revitilize a sinking economy. Energize a nation. Rehabilitate America’s fragile standing in the world. Oh, and get through four “Twilight” books with his youngest daughter.
Yes, according to the latest issue of US Weekly, Stephenie Meyer has a couple fans who will be moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in a couple months. The magazine reports that the President-Elect and his ten-year-old daughter Malia often bond over addictive book series, “They read all the Harry Potter books together and have moved on to the Twilight series.”
What does this mean? A Presidential screening of “Twilight” at the White House? Robert Pattinson for Secretary of Dreamy Eyes? Anything is possible. Are you surprised that “Twilight”-mania has gone all the way to the Oval Office?

Twilight Signing Causes Chaos
11 November 2008 4:04 AM, PST
Twilight star Robert Pattinson was forced to cancel a signing at a store in California - when the crowds outside surged out of control.
Security staff at the Hot Topic store in San Francisco only expected around 500 people to attend Monday's event and were overwhelmed when thousands of fans turned up to get a glimpse of the actor.
And the scene on the street outside the shop soon turned ugly as the desperate movie fans surged forward, with many people getting caught in the crush - forcing organisers to scrap the signing and call police.
One girl is said to have suffered a broken nose, while another fainted, according to TMZ.com.
This is why I'm seeing the movie before school gets out.

I wouldn't be surprised either. The level of anticipation for this thing is insane. I went to Border's the other day, and I swear, everywhere I turned was not only a table with Twilight books on it, but people crowding around buying them.
Hell, my own mother bought a copy, and I screamed "WHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???!!!!!!", well the screaming part isn't true, but still.

From an interview with MSN:
“I was like, ‘You guys are celebrating something that has not come true yet. So, you are really retarded and have nothing to do with this creative process and I really don’t want to hear you celebrate in front of me. Get out of here! It’s my responsibility!’”
“You can go online and it’s very intangible. I mean, who knows how many of these girls there are? It’s probably just the same five girls going on every message board and gabbing on about it,” Stewart says. “But to have literally, like, a room of over 5,000 people screaming at you makes you want to cry. It’s not like, ‘Oh, this is so great.’ I think it’s literally like an instinct. To have that sort of energy forced at you? You start to wither.
****, I feel bad for her. It sounds like she just took a role in what looked like would be a mildly successful teeny bopper movie based upon a successful book series, she didn't realize what she was getting into and now she has one of the craziest and most annoying fan bases in the world following her around and freaking out at her slightest movement as if she were the character incarnate. With sequel pressure already in motion, I wouldn't be surprised if this chick just killed herself.

it was decent enough but not quite up to the level it could've been. The entire film you keep thinking man Cedric isn't that great of a Vampire but Bella and Alice were spot on. Also I think people will be impressed with the way Cam pulls off James
it is a very visually effective piece of film but I personally was hoping for a bit better acting and a little more depth

I tend to trust my own judgement and not someone elses. Do I expect a lot from this movie? No. I laugh at people that freak out about it saying it's going to be amazing because we don't know that. But I'm not going to take the word of some person writing a review rather than see if I like it myself. This movie was made with a low budget and was not expected to be a huge movie like it's turned out to be. So I'll go tomorrow and I'll judge for myself what I think instead of saying oh it sucks because some person said that it did.

I know I was just reading some reviews. & Just as I feared ( Pretty much thought would happen) not a good movie & the acting leaves alot to be desired. I was sooo keepping my fingers crossed. But, we do have to consider the source. This movie won't really have any cross over appeal. There won't be too many boys willing to see it more than once ( if that) & I dont' see to many older people getting caught up int he craze either. They may see it once to see what all the talk is about. But, won't be returning for addtional show. & I think that can & probably will drive more peopl away will the the screaming girls when Edward is on screen. It is annoying.
I did love one critic when he stated that bella should just dump edward & kick it with jacob/jake. I always thought the same thing.
But, I really wished that they could do something truly amazing with the movie. I liked the book alot. But maybe becasue, I am a woman with kids of my own & can see the logic(there isn't any) of bella period. But, then the books aren't for me. they are for young girls.
That is not to say that the idea couldn't work. I loved Buffy & Angle. Very strong Writing & the acting was great.
I may still go see this movie before it leaves. But, I won't be seeing any time soon. Sorry.
If I wan't Eye candy this weekend. Then I will be Watching my LOTR EE DVD's. Now, those are REAL MEN. Not to mention a Masterpeice both on paper & on Screen. Along with Great Acting.

Though I agree with the unrealistic expectations about men, that's something that women have been getting since the Disney days, it's not really new. Still, as much as I love Edward Cullen as a character, would I want a guy exactly like him as a boyfriend...? Probably not. I'm perfectly happy with my boyfriend at the moment and he is nothing like Edward, in fact I would say he's more of a Jacob. But still, I think some men have lost the good old values of being a gentlemen at least once in a while and are trying to go for the bad boy look and not all the girls want the bad boy all the time.

Box office news...
SATURDAY EARLY AM: First numbers show that Summit Entertainment's low cost blockbuster Twilight opened huge as expected because of heavy pre-sales with $32.7M Friday from 3,419 theaters, including $7M worth of Thursday midnight shows, for what should be $65M for its first North American weekend in release. (One rival studio bigwig thinks it made as much as a "jaw dropping" $35M, telling me: "Even figuring a big drop tomorrow, it has to be a mid-$70sM weekend.") Fangirls -- or should I say fang-girls -- were buying 5 Twilight tickets per second as of early Friday morning, making Twilight online ticket-seller Fandango's fastest-selling film since The Dark Knight last July. Then the tween and teen females in store bought or homemade Twilight clothes (and even Twilight tattoos) flocked to the first Big Screen version of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling series of Romeo & Juliet-style vampire romance books.
Yet the movie adaptation was made by start-up studio Summit for only $37M. This will be the start of a big new franchise since a sequel is already in the works. The first box office record has already been broken by Twilight's girl power: this is the biggest opening for a female director. Catherine Hardwicke is easily beating Mimi Leder's $41.1M for 1998's Deep Impact. (But with an asterisk since these figures aren't adjusted for inflation, ticket prices, etc.) If Friday's figure holds, then Twilight will have the 2nd best opening day for a November release behind Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, and the 16th highest opening day gross ever, beating the first Harry Potter and just behind the 3rd Lord Of The Rings.
No. 2 was the new Bond pic Quantum Of Solace which was down 69% from its franchise record opening a week ago to earn $8.3M Friday from 3,458 venues. This could be another $28M weekend and new North American cume past $110M (in just 7 days time). Going into today, Daniel Craig's 2nd turn as 007 has made $335M worldwide.
Because Twilight played much younger than expected, "it's taking that extra bite right out of Bolt," according to one studio mogul. As a result, Disney's toon starring the voices of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus looked to debut Friday with only $6.5M from 3,651 runs and should yield just under $25 million for the weekend. That's $10M less than expected. So, on the Disney scale of animation pic successes, this is disappointing. Poor Bolt has been overshadowed by the phenomenon of the Twilight Zone. This family fare had the largest digital 3D release ever, opening at approximately 979 Digital 3D locations. Last Saturday, the studio sneaked the pic at around 880 theaters to build word of mouth.
DreamWorks Animation's toon sequel Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa distributed by Paramount came in No. 4 with $3.5M Friday from 4,007 dates for what should be a $15M weekend a fresh $136.4M cume. And Universal's raunchy R-rated comedy Role Models continues to surprise by outperforming: at #5, it took in $1.5M Friday from 2,733 plays for a possible $4.5M weekend a new cume of $45.3M.
It's worth mentioning that Oscar-touted Slumdog Millionaire expands into 32 venues. The Fox Searchlight pic opened last Wednesday on 10 screens and this Wednesday grossed +54% on the same 10 screens. As one studio insider told me, "That never happens. As a point of reference, even Juno last year didn’t do this." The pic's previous weekend was the best of 2008 for a specialized film with the highest per screen average of the year, beating Academy Award buzzed Changeling and Rachel At The Wedding.
It's doing very well! It just got it's budget back in like 1 day!

I thought the chemistry between the characters worked really well, and I don't see what some people are talking about when it comes to the effects. The only thing I had problem with was the sparkling but I've ALWAYS had a problem with it, I thought it was cheese even in the book so I guess thats why it didn't bother me more than some in the movie.

yeah same. people are gonna ***** about it but i wont let it get me down. i had read reviews before about crappy acting, pathetic special effects and the annoying lack of steady cam shots so i was bracing myself for them. but i never really got bothered by them, and i REALLY thought i was gonna hate the lack of steady cam.
now with their budget i really can't blame them for the kinda lackluster tree climbing effects, they did good with what they had and the baseball scene was amazing! the only thing i found kinda laughable was the sparkling. but let's put this in context: can anyone else think of a way for seventeen year old heartthrob to sparkle and not look ridiculous??? i think they actually found the best way to get it done cus i was worried it was gonna look cartoony. but no. he looked sparkly ahha :)
basically i think the chemistry between robert and kristen was so great that it made the movie great for me. i probably would have been 'meh' without it but it really did carry the film. im excited to see what they do with new moon, especially since i think kristen's acting will fit with that story a little better.

Official statement from Summit!!!
www.summit-ent.com
SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES
TWILIGHT SEQUEL - NEW MOON
Los Angeles, CA November 22, 2008 — Summit Entertainment announced today that the studio is officially moving forward with the production of NEW MOON, the second installment of its filmed franchise TWILIGHT, the action-packed, modern day vampire love story. The movie will be based on the second novel in author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series titled, New Moon. The first movie in the TWILIGHT franchise, the self-titled TWILIGHT, arrived in theaters this weekend to sold-out showings.
Stephenie Meyer stated, "I don't think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I'm thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on NEW MOON."
Starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, TWILIGHT tells the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, and becomes drawn to Edward Cullen, a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away. But neither can deny the attraction that pulls them together...even when Edward confides that he and his family are vampires. Their unorthodox romance puts her in physical danger when Edward's nemesis comes to town and sets his sights on Bella.
YAY! We did it! Looks like I'll be taking a trip to Portland soon...

More box office news from Variety:
Summit Entertainment's "Twilight" grossed a staggering $35.7 million from 3,419 runs on Friday to score the second biggest opening day gross outside of summer after "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," which grossed $40.4 million on its first Friday in November 2005.
The friday number for "Twilight"--which has made Summit the envy of every major studio--includes $7 million in Thursday midnight shows.
Summit also announced plans to move ahead with "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon."
Box observers are waiting to see how much the teen vampire romance drops on Saturday after such a robust Friday. The sheer volume of traffic on Friday was evidence of the boffo success of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling book series. More than 17 million copies of her four books have sold nationwide.
"Twilight" is on its way to marking the biggest opening gross in history for a female director, Catherine Hardwicke.
Film seemed to take a bite out of Disney's 3-D toon "Bolt," which grossed an estimated $7 million as it opened Friday in 3,651 theaters, including 900+ 3-D runs. For example, Utah theaters are generally a hotbed for Disney fare, but on Friday, "Twilight" dominated. One of the biggest fan groups of Meyer's books are Mormons, as she is a Mormon.
That put "Bolt" at No. 3 for the day, with Sony/MGM's James Bond installment "Quantum of Solace" taking the No. 2 spot. "Quantum" grossed an estimated $8.3 million to $8.5 million from 3,458 runs on Friday for a cume of $90.2 million. "Quantum" will have no trouble jumping the $100 million mark at the domestic box office in its second sesh.
"Bolt," however, could move into second position for the weekend, since family pics generate strong Saturday biz.
On the specialty side, Fox Searchlight's "Slumdog Millionaire" continued to please as it headed into its second frame. The Danny Boyle-directed film grossed an estimated $249,000 as it expanded to 32 theaters on Friday for a per screen average of $7,781 and a cume of $870,139. Pic was up 19% in holdover theaters. Warner Bros. is Searchlight's partner on "Slumdog".
I find it hilarious that it's the second biggest November opening after GOF, which Rob was in too. XD

It plays during the credits, after the Linkin Park song.

Anyone have a summary of "New Moon"? Also, at the end of the film, who was that woman?

Anyone have a summary of "New Moon"? Also, at the end of the film, who was that woman?
In a nutshell:
Isabella "Bella" Swan is thrown an eighteenth birthday party by Edward Cullen, the vampire she loves, and his vampire family. While unwrapping a gift, she receives a paper cut. Jasper, although attempting a non-human diet, is overwhelmed by the scent of blood and tries to attack Bella. In an attempt to keep Bella safe from the world of vampires, Edward leaves the town of Forks. Bella becomes depressed and seeks comfort with Jacob Black, an old family friend who eases her pain over losing Edward.
Bella and Jacob begin spending a lot of time together, and Bella soon discovers that the rush of adrenaline present when she places herself in dangerous situations stimulates a hallucination of Edward's voice. Bella begins seeking out dangerous behavior, such as motorcycle riding, to keep Edward's voice with her. Meanwhile, Jacob finds out that he is a werewolf. Initially, he tries to keep this secret from Bella, but he eventually reveals as much as he can without betraying his pack. After Bella attempts cliff-diving, she gets caught in a riptide and is rescued by Jacob.
At the same time, Alice Cullen, Edward's vampire sister who has visions of the future, has a vision of Bella jumping off the cliff. Presuming Bella is dead, Alice rushes to Forks to check on Charlie, Bella's father, while Edward calls Bella's home. Jacob answers and informs Edward that Charlie is "at the funeral", referring to that of a man in town who had a heart attack, but Edward draws the conclusion that he means Bella's funeral. Desperate after Bella's supposed death, Edward flees to Italy to see the Volturi, peace-keeping vampires who would be able to kill Edward, granting him leave of a world without Bella.
Bella and Alice rush to Italy to stop Edward, and save him before it is too late. Before they leave Italy, the Volturi tell them that Bella, a human who knows of the existence of vampires, must either be killed or changed into a vampire herself. After they return to Forks, Edward explains to Bella that he only left in order to protect her, and she forgives him. The book ends with the Cullens voting in favor of Bella being changed into a vampire, much to Edward's dismay.
And the woman at the end was Victoria, one of the bad vampires. She plays a bigger role in book 2 and 3.

More Box Office News...
Twilight makes 72 million out of Opening Weekend
Summit Entertainment's low cost blockbuster Twilight opened huge as expected because of heavy pre-sales with $35.7M Friday. But early numbers show the front-loaded pic dropped a big but expected 40% to $22M Saturday. (Similarly front loaded Sex And The City also had a big Friday to Saturday fall...)With an estimated $14M Sunday from 3,419 theaters, including $7M worth of Thursday midnight shows, Twilight will end up with $72M for its first North American weekend in release. Fangirls -- or should I say fang-girls -- were buying 5 Twilight tickets per second as of early Friday morning, making it online ticket-seller Fandango's fastest-selling film since The Dark Knight last July. This will be the start of a big new franchise since a sequel is already in the works -- New Moon, based on Meyer's second book in the series. The first box office records have already been broken by Twilight's girl power. This is the biggest opening for a female director. Catherine Hardwicke is easily beating Mimi Leder's $41.1M for 1998's Deep Impact. (But with an asterisk since these figures aren't adjusted for inflation, ticket prices, etc.) Twilight will have the 2nd best opening day for a November release behind Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, and the 11th best Friday opening of all time, beating the first Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone, and the 15th best opening day ever. It's a defining moment for Summit's start-up studio that had really struggled on its first few releases. On Saturday morning, Summit officially announced the greenlight for the New Moon sequel (I'm told to contain costs the studio is considering making sequels #2 and #3 back to back like other successful franchises have done), and Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart formally thanked fans for their support of what is now a movie franchise.
No. 2 was the new Bond pic Quantum Of Solace which was down 68% from its franchise record opening a week ago to earn $8.5M Friday from 3,458 venues. But its take jumped to $11.6M Saturday for a $27M weekend and new North American cume past $110M (passing $100M Saturday in just 6 days time). Going into Friday, Daniel Craig's 2nd turn as 007 has made $335M worldwide. The actioner opened in Australia and Spain to the biggest Bond openings ever. So MGM/Sony are looking at an overseas weekend in the high $30sM which will put international over $300M for a staggering $415M worldwide through Sunday.
Because Twilight played much younger than expected Friday, it took "that extra bite right out of Bolt," according to one studio mogul. As a result, Disney's toon starring the voices of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus debuted Friday with only $7M from 3,651 runs. But Saturday kiddie matinees came through for the pooch pic which gained 62% to earn $11.2M and a $27 million weekend for a close No. 3 even if less than expected.
4 with $3.5M Friday and $6.7M Saturday from 4,007 dates for a $14.6M weekend a fresh $136M cume. And Universal's raunchy R-rated comedy Role Models continues to surprise by outperforming: at #5, it took in $1.5M Friday and $2.8 Saturday from 2,733 plays for a $6.8M weekend a new cume of $47.6M.
Oscar-touted Slumdog Millionaire expanded into 32 venues for a projected $938K weekend and 11th place. (The Fox Searchlight pic opened last Wednesday on 10 screens and this Wednesday grossed +54% on the same 10 screens. As one insider told me, "That never happens. As a point of reference, even Juno last year didn’t do this.") The pic had the 2nd best per screen average Friday behind only Twilight.

The following is a link to an article on the official Chapters website, the chain of bookstores in Canada. Apartantly this year Twilight books in Canada have sold MORE than Harry Potter books did last year. That includes the release of the last Harry Potter.

Yeah but truthfully, this is the time when Twilight is getting huge, like HP. Harry Potter became a phenomenon around the 4th book, Twilight series is hitting that. So, a year when the last one came out plus millions more are just discovering it and buying ALL 4, of course they would sell more than any Harry Potter. Wonder what the sales records for HP were around the time they started to get really huge. ;) Just being realistic, I love Twilight a lot, so I'm not trying to snub it :P

I think the "werewolves" will be CGI most likely, perhaps even a little animatronics used.

They'll have to use CGI. These werewolves are like normal wolves, but huge, kinda like horse sized. They might use animatronics also.

It doesn't disappoint me because I didn't think about it while actually watching the film. If I had noticed it while I was there, then I would have been, but the movie worked well enough where the changes and omissions didn't really stand out, which is the mark of a good book movie I think.

"Happy. That's what you like to be."
"Weird. That's what you like to be."
"Funny. That's what you like to be."
It just goes on!
As for Twilight. I don't really care for it, and did kinda think the Fangirl/fanboy-isms were pretty crazy at times. However, I get that way sometimes when it comes to stuff (Watchmen, Harry Potter, etc.)so I have no problem with the craziness that happens on the boards.

I still don't see Twilight as anywhere near Harry Potter good book wise or movie and i gotta believe if Harry Potter would have stayed Twilight likely wouldn't had a big weekend. Now that twilight moved too November.
I really like day The Earth Stood Still as Decembers biggest movie.

After seeing it twice and thinking on the omissions I have to lower my score to 8/10. Not really a bad thing, as 8 and 9 for me aren't much a difference. A 9 usually comes outta just seeing it and still being all hyped up. The 8 is after thinking about the stuff that was left out and I wanted to see. I still loved it, in fact, I'm taking my mother to see it today and can't wait!

I have to agree the books & movies are so much better. Eventhough, with the HP movies fans also aren't happy with the movies. To many things ommitted or changed altogether. But, at least the movie doens't down right suck. they are still good movies & the acting, visuals, etc... just about everything is still worthy to see on the big screen.
Don't even get me started on the books. The Potter books are so much better than their movie counterparts & Twilight can't even be mentioned in the same breath as any of the potter books. Eventhough I still find HP still on the tweenie fangirl side. But, the writing is very very good.
I liked Twilight & co ok enough. But, it seem so immature to me. I did in fact love the back stories about the Wolves & how some of the boys would fight to stay away from that part of their life. But, once they changed they got into it. Some more than others.
But, the romance process for me was way tooooo far out there. Poorly written & even worse on screen. But, everthing can improve with the next movie. I sure hope so. Becasue new moon is I think my fav out of the series.
