So I just watched the movie "Primer" and sacred feces! I want to discuss this one. My head is pushing almost 4 teraflops right now, and I need some good brains to circle around and get geeky with me on this one. Anybody?

Well, I'm fresh off the viewing, so sorry if I go a little overboard. But the movie seemed to be about a lot more than time travel to me. First, it obviously puts forward an argument that there is no such thing as destiny unless we choose to have one. We can choose destiny. When the characters began "reverse engineering" their lives to be carried out exactly the way they wanted, by way of recorder and playback, that established the idea that we can, with careful application and skill, control the outcomes of our lives. Of course, this task is compounded in difficulty when you don't own a time-machine (or what amounts to one). However, it's still a compelling idea. Very encouraging.
The implications of that argument are far-reaching. Maybe we'll get into it later. What do you think?

I had the pleasure of watching Primer. I was not in the least bit disappointed. It surpassed my expectations. Just a great, original film with a very minimal budget. I will definitely be purchasing it.
The film is extremely complex which does add to the enjoyment of the film.

I saw this the other day. I have to admit there where points when I was like "HUH???" but man oh man. Talk about a mind bender. Plus the production quality on it was great depsite having a crew of what, 12! I want to see this again.

this movie was incredible. and i watched all the commentary and stuff from the actors (who were obviously also writers/directors/producers for the film) and none of them would give away the ending. awesome movie, can't wait for their next project, seem like some good young talent.
i need to watch again before i try to begin to explain it.

I wouldn't even know where to begin. I like though when sci-fi gets back to it's roots and ditches the hyper cgi. See there can be good sci-fi without all the bells a whistles!

yea i enjoyed how the movie was not about the building or explaining how they did it, just about what they did and where it got them. brilliant.
