I just ordered (well, on Friday) Houghton Mifflin's (I happen to grow a hate for them, I don't actually know why) 50th Annv Edition of LOTR from Amazon.com for Christmas (actually it will most likely arrive after the 1st of January :() along with their hardcover edition of the Silmarillion (one edition looks like the Bible, ewwwww), so I could update my used paperback editions.
The question is this: does anyone have this edition or photos except the ones that Houghton Mifflin and Amazon are offering? (which are kind of different, anyway) Because I would like to know how it looks in detail. I thought those 3 Hardcover Editions with paintings from Alan Lee were way too colorful for LOTR and I loved the more serious aspect from this edition..
It's just that I can't wait to see it for myself :omg:
:P
