TERRIBLE!
It was really embarassing...
Palps voice was obviously enhanced by a computer after his transformation. Obi Wan was like a Man of Monotonic perfection. Anakin - I liked his performance in AOTC quite a bit...there were some good parts - like in a garage, etc...
This time around he was much better. Dubbing however made him almost the worst actor in the whole movie, which I KNOW he wasnt... (at least for me).
Only voice that was quite ok was Yodas and also GG was bearable.

Totally ruined the whole movie.
What is the best? There is only ONE! copy of subtitled version for the whole country!

You would think that for a movie this big - and especially - when they release it only with a dubbing into every theatre, that they would really get the job done. And its not like our actors cant do it.
Dubbing is one fuc/ed up thing, but with a job done properly you can at least watch the film without any damage...
Whoah! Not this time around...
Of course we are back to "general public" issue. Most people dont give a ***k about dubbing, degradation of performances, toned down sound effects just so they dont have to "READ", when they came to watch...not speaking that english in this one is really easy to understand...

You know, in Germany, Legolas and Obi-Wan have the same voice actor..

Still, while LotR's dubbing was superb, Rots' was mostly cheesy and uninspired. God bless the DVD & OV-cinemas.

Now that I'm here: in our dubbing, grievous had a really.. strange accent. Does he have that in the OV too?

It's funny you should say that, because at first I thought he was talking about ADR (Additional Dialogue Recording). I wrote this huge long post explaining ADR and stuff, and right as I finished I realized he was referring to a foreign language version! :)

I was over at TF.N boards and found a similar topic... Obviously the most horrid version is Spanish...
Generally Ive got no problem with dubbing - in terms of not caring about it...
Because normally, for blockbusters, there is an equal amount of copies for both dubbed and subtitled version... I understand, kids and some individuals who dont understand the language might have trouble catching the subtitles.
But EVERYONE has got to know what damage dubbing does to the quality of experience...
I ask then - WHY?!
What is the logic of LF for sending only ONE! copy of OV for a country with 6 mil. people...
Im not the only one with this problem... Fans in all of middle/eastern Europe have a hard time finding a theatre where theyre showing OV.
I wouldnt think we will have such problem in 2005...:(

i dont know what part of germany you live in, but there's an english movie theater in frankfurt.

There are theatres showing the original versions of movies in every major cities.
But in the smaller or "normal" theatres you'll have to get by with dubbed movies.

By the way, Here (http://rapidshare.de/files/1698009/ep3dialoge_dt.zip.html) are some excerpts of the dub. The theatre-scene with palps and anakin, and the "I don't trust him" dialogue.
