(No pun intended) ;) Anyhow, I need more suggestions on guitarists that you all might like to see in this battle. I have a pretty big list already, but I might be forgetting some. Keep in mind that we are looking for guitar players who can rip out fancy solo's and riffs, not just players that do power chords only. Also, I have a suggestion. In the last metal battle that I did, some people hadn't heard of certain bands. I have a solution for this problem, I think. You can go to www.cdnow.com and listen to clips of bands or artists, so this time if you haven't heard of a certain guitarist, then you can go and find them and listen to a clip. :)

Yeah, his name is Nuno Bettencourt! He is one of my favorite guitarists of ALL time and I get a big playing inspiration from him. If you ever heard me play then you would definitely be able to tell that I listen to Extreme alot and Nuno's newest band called Population1. ALSO, before I start this battle here in a few minutes. I need to warn you all that not every guitarist that you want to see will be on this battle because I already have around 60 and thats ALOT, and will make this battle run forever as it is. Most of the guitarists that you all named will be on there though. :) First battle coming right up, enjoy! :)

For the simple fact that Yngwie can improvise an ultra fast song on guitar for a whole 10 minutes and Santana's songs are all planned ahead of time. No problem with me, I'm not trying to cause a stink, I'm just curious. ;)

About santana vs malmsteen: I do agree that malmsteen can play real fast, but there isnt much feeling on his playing. thats why I prefer carlos santana. but thats just me

ya he is a kick ass guitarist and it sucks how he was kicked out. when everyone was picking santana i was like dammit he is gonna get kicked out of the battle.

I've seen both of them live and while they are both from different fields, they're both great at what they do (duh).

I wouldn't call him the worst, he's far from it (save that title for Cobain). I like Young because he has the same formula, but he's so good at it that it's hard to mind.
