Catwoman 2: Without Halle

This movie is doing pretty good with DVD sales and movie rentals. They need to do another Catwoman movie that's a straight to DVD/Video release without Halle Berry. My pick for Catwoman 2 would be Navi Rawat. You might even get a few movies out of this. Straight to DVD sales are really helping the straight to video industry and you can turn a nice profit with Catwoman 2.

I can also see Meagan Good in this role, but Navi would be my first choice.

I've been working on a screenplay called "The Resurrection of Selina Kyle" I can't quite decide how I want Selina to be killed, but I posted the version I'm sticking with as of right now. I know most of you aren't a fan of Catwoman after what Pitof did, but keep an open mind because my version follows a COMPLETELY different path.


THE RESURRECTION OF SELINA KYLE
Rated 18A for Violence, Gore, and Sexual content
Tagline: "Resurrection is for those who couldn't get it right the first time."

Selina Kyle is a young high school teacher with a troubled past. Her father, Clive, walked out on her family at a young age, and her mother, Michelle, was raped and killed in the streets of Gotham City, where Selina and her older sister, Sidney, currently reside. When walking home from work late one night, Selina overhears a drug deal and sees one of the involved men get shot by another. The drug dealer notices Selina, and ultimately kills her to ensure that she doesn't go to the authorities. Our heroine is then resurrected by a group of alley cats, offering Selina hope for a new beginning. Selina embraces her new life, and makes sure everything in her life changes. She takes therapy to overcome her violent and troubled past, and becomes addicted to self defense classes, which she willingly takes to ensure the protection of her and Sidney. Unlike the many Catwomen before her, Selina Kyle wasn't blessed with superpowers, but rather the power and inner-strength to develop such qualities on her own.

As for her death... I was going to have a troubled and neglected student at Gotham High bring a gun to school and go on a killing spree, but I don't think people would react to that well after what recently happened.

A few other things I think you guys might find interesting (I hope). Selina doesn't create a wicked costume with diamond studded claws. Rather, she glues razorblades to her fingernails and paints over them, so nobody can see them. I thought this was a cool idea. Oh, and I don't plan on having the whip be a major part of the screenplay. I want her to be skilled with more martial arts-esque materials. I have written one scene though, where Selina's coworker tries to rape her, and he has a whole bunch of bondage stuff. She overpowers him, though, and uses his bondage whip as a weapon against him. That may be the only scene I'll include a whip, though. Maybe not? Opinions, please.

According to the charts of DVD Exclusive Online CATWOMAN has had a gross of $31m in dvd sales its first month of release in the U.S. It's over 50 million now.

As of the week ending March 27, 2005, Catwoman is number 41, with 530k for the week and 35 million in rental gross. http://imdb.com/boxoffice/rentals

So combined sales and rentals Catwoman could do 100 million on a straight to DVD/Video release.

Wow, that actually sounds pretty good. The only thing that sucks is your title. AVOID USING 'Catwoman' AT ALL COSTS!!! People will assume Pitof is making it, and it will be a just-as-bad sequel. And how is it a Legacy of Selina Kyle? Her daughter's name is Erika. Just think you should change the title, it's not very relevant.

See, it's about the daughter of Selina Kyle and that's why her name is Erika. See, it's called the Legacy of Selina Kyle because Bruce Wayne doesn't know about the child. So now Erika thinks that both her mother and father abandoned her when she was a baby and this will lead to a confrontation between her and Bruce Wayne in:

Catwoman 3: The Duality of Erika

See Erika eventually gives in to her criminal side and begans to wreak havoc around town. This brings Bruce Wayne out to try and stop her. Erika is furious at Bruce and a serious battle ensues.... To be continued.

We can even take the Catwoman's out of the titles quiksilver.

I still really like the idea of The Legacy. Don't make ANOTHER sequel (Duality of Erika), just include the battle between the new "Catwoman" and Batman in 'The Legacy of Selina Kyle'. It'd be a longer, more fuller and entertaining movie. Nobody wants to dish out $10 twice to see the ending of a movie they all knew was coming. I'd say combine your two ideas and make one solid screenplay. If you like, I'd help you with it. Screenwriting is an ultimate hobby of mine.
