Yeah I now have a band and made up a logo as well. So far the band consists of 4 people but we might have 5 soon. We have me on lead guitar, my friend Michael on backup guitar, Jason on drums, and Phil on bass guitar. We are looking for a singer and I hope that things kick off soon. We will probably play hardcore alternative rock, but I'm sure we will have some ballads too. I like to do ballads from time to time on guitar and sometimes sing backup vocals. Anyhow, here is my logo below, tell me what you think. We are called Frankenmind.

Are you planning on using that Frankenstein image full time? I'm asking because I believe Universal owns the copyright on that image of Frankenstein. You could get in trouble for using it. I like the band name though.

I don't know about Universal owning the copyright. I cut the image in half and that usually cuts off the copyright because its not the full thing. But what the hell do I know? I'm a ****in' no good loser that doesn't know ****. Oh well, I tried. **** it...

If you lived near, whether your male or female, I would audition you. It doesn't matter to me.

Zombie, I just wanted you to know that Universal owns that particular image of Frankenstein, which is why no other studio uses that variation of the character in their films. I didn't want you to get in trouble, that's why I brought it up. That's all.

So what kind of influences do you guys have?
I will tell you all of our main influences. It ranges between all of us really, so its going to be quite the mixture of music I'm sure. But we are going to try to stick with heavier material. The other 3 guys so far are pretty big Christians and I'm one, but its not going to be a Christian band by any means.
My influences (I play guitar) - White Zombie, Pearl Jam, Black Label Society, Guns N' Roses, Joe Bonamassa, Blind Melon, and Dio.
Michael (backup guitarist) - The Eagles, and Lenny Kravitz.
Phil (bass guitarist) - Linkin Park, Pillar, and Disciple.
Jason (drummer) - Joe Bonamassa, Kutless, POD, and Nickleback.

awesome dude. have you guys written any songs yet. me and my friend, cody might be starting a band in a few years or so from now. I would most likely play the guitar and possibly be the vocalist, although i ****ing suck at singing. then i have a friend, Kenny, who i'll ask to be the bassist. then we have to find a drummer. after my friend Scotty gets back from Texas Im gonna talk to him about being the drummer. anyway congrads on your band.
All the best for the band Zombie. I'd love to get into a band myself but I simply don't commit to the guitar enough :(

Thanks for the best wishes from everyone. Anyhow, to answer PapaRoach's question about writing songs. We have a few written already musically together. But I have written several songs overtime and whether we use them or not, I have no idea. I have a song called "Walking Departed" that I got copywritten about 2 years ago and its about zombies. The reason that I got it copywritten is because it got leaked out onto a website, the guitar parts and the vocals both at one point in time, I had it recorded with just me. I'm working on a blues based ballad right now called "Baby Blues" that we will definitely use. Other than that, I have several other ideas and I'm working on some arpeggio type of guitar solo's for other songs.

What did you do google "frankenstein" and not bother to look at where the image came from... truely lazy.
Instead of stealing from a large company you are stealing images from a freelance illustrator who posted some of his work on the internet so they could get bussiness. That's pretty low... not everything on the internet is free. How would you like it if someone stole some of the songs you wrote, sold them and didn't give you any money.
You need to contact the artist and get permission to use the image for your band... it dosen't matter if you are not using the entire image... it still dosen't belong to you. You can be sued for using the pictures created by individuals for comercial gain (like promoting you band) it is one of the worst crimes imanginable.
If you still want to use the image, here is the persons website he has contact information is avaible. http://www.mheine.com/ be careful of what you find on the internet NOT EVERYTHING IS FREE

First off, I don't plan on using the image to sell it. I had planned on using it on a website or something just for looks. If I was an artist, I sure as hell wouldn't mind my picture being used for a cool logo for a band. I know I'm pretty low, I'm nothing but a ****in' no good loser aren't I mr. Psycho? I'm not any good for anything, not even a good daddy am I now? Thanks for being such an ass to me and trying to make me look retarded. I really appreciate that, it seems like the hip thing to do these ****in' days.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!! If you look here this person is being an total *******!!!
Anyways, yes you can mess with the image and you won't be sued! (AKA manipulating a picture) I know some people have manipulated (change) a copyrighted image before and they got money for it. But if he did use ALL of the image yes he would be sued for that. But his picture is not offical so please don't say **** that you don't know. So shut up and let him do what he's gotta do. OKAY?!?!? Ca-peish?
PLUS- Using other people songs?? I've seen that before too its called a COVER SONG!!

You guys, lets not start a fight in here. I think Psycho was just trying to help you out Zombie, even though he was being out of line when he was saying things like "truely lazy" and "That's pretty low" Lets not get mad you guys.

its a little too late for that now....**** why the hell is everyone so ****ing pissed off at everyone on the boards all of a sudden?

Actually no it isn't OK to take any image you want and cut off peices of it claim it as your own. It is a little thing called copywrite laws. You are using the image to promot your band, if it is on the website or in print... the image is still being used to something that the artist hasn't given his permission to use it for.
If you think the artist would be happy to have his image that he worked hard to create used for your band logo (without getting paid for it) Then I suggest that you ask the artist himself.
As for covers... thoes are different, when a band covers another bands song the usually give credit to that band. Taking an image and using it as your own is not the same... not once have I seen either zombie or dio mention the name of the person who created the image.

You truly are a cruel and unusual person PsychoMike. I can't believe how you can sit there and talk down to people without even caring about their families or feelings. I'm ashamed to see such bitterness.

Actually this is something I care deeply about. Since the advent of the nternet it has made it alot easier for people to take images that don't belong to them. It isn't right to steal from anyone. This peice of artwork is no different than anything else.

I'll admit "That's pretty low" did go a bit to far. But I was pissed at the time.
As for my "truely lazy" comment I stand by it... It took all of 10 sec. to discover that the image that was posted was from a profssional illustrator. Who was selling that image for professional gain.
