What if the suprise everyones waiting for at the end of episode 3 is that both death stars are being created together at the same time with more work going on the first one so thats why it was finished first, Thats why it only takes three years to complete the second.

At the end of episode III we can see vader looking over the death star being built ,then the camara could move along and we see the second one next to it side by side.

It would be a great suprise that vader and the empore new there were two all along. Just a thought.

Hah, nice idea. But, it's too complex for GL. ;)

I've always thought that the second death star was started before the first one was finished.

Thats a good idea. I know this is sorta off topic, but do you think the Death Star will be built in a giant hanger or in space?

Wow that would be such a plot twist...

Actually, it would be quite cool, but kind of unnecesary.

That would be awesome to see, but too original for Mr. Lucas i fear.

Both ideas are great, but I think a hanger that big is a little extreme even for SW. And yes, this is beyond GL.

A hanger for the death star would be absurd, it will most definitely be built in open spcae.

The raw materiels will be brought from mustafar.

Not much of a twist because it's absolutely pointless and doesn't change the storyline in any way. All it does is explain how they built the second one so fast. But it's not an important enough topic for any non-major-star wars fan to give a crap about.

It would leave people who are watching it through for the first time asking why nothing has been head of the 2nd through ep5.

I dont think they should reveal both death stars being built at the same time. There are still a lot of people(mostly younger people) who havent seen the OT and will not really get it.

Here's the rumor. It's a pretty solid rumor, but since it is a rumor, I won't post it as a spoiler. It was asked on the official site during one of the chats, if whether Obi-Wan and Anakin fight through part of Mustafar where the Death Star is being built. The answer from the guest was "no comment." Take that for what you will. Doesn't mean he's confirming or denying.

I don't see how that could work. Surely even if you panned out a long long long way from Obi Wan and Anakin fighting, it would just look like a big piece of grey.

yeah, I agree. The Death Star never looked visually amazing. I think if they fight through corridors and outside by the volcanos, then Im fine with that.

What kind of dumbass surprise would be that...
Except of hardcore fans no one would know what the hell are two deathstars at the end supposed to mean...

I don't know if that's how it goes down. He didn't say one way or the other. It's plainly obvious they couldn't have built it on Geonosis for the simple reason that the Jedi have found out about the planet and the Geonosians being involved.

I came away from that chat thinking that it will be incorporated somehow, but not entirely sure in what way.

Mustafar is the location in which Anakin fights Obi-Wan towards the end of the movie.

Okay here's the latest on the Death Star. This comes from Ternian over at millenniumfalcon.com. Supposedly this is from the newest Insider, so they say. This would be a big spoiler in Episode III. So read at your own risk.

Sector Governor, TARKIN; DARTH VADER and EMPEROR PALPATINE stand on the bridge of the Star Destroyer.

In the distance, the growing skeleton of a spherical battle station, the size of a small moon, begins to take shape...

We'll see if that pans out.

This sounds more likely than the Mustafar idea. This is pretty much what people have expected anyway I think.

F-A-K-E!!!! FAKE!!!! Nice try though. That shot is clearly from ESB. I remember that exact shot. And its pretty obivious parts of the Death Star had been colored black to make it look more incomplete.

That was my assumed ending as well. And I simply love the idea. Brilliant ending for a (hopefully) brilliant movie.

I don't get how that would be a twist........

What's the significance of the Death Stars being built at the same time?

Moridin

That the funds of the Galactic Empire were even larger than we thought, being able to construct something of THAT magnitude over and over again. And also the fact that the Emperor wasn't as arrogant as everyone wants him to be, having probably foreseen the destruction of the first one and arranged for more to be built simultaneously. Of course, why didn't he predict the destruction of the other one? Oh don't listen to me, I'm rambling. :P
