OK I'm gonna write a REAL story for once, so here we go. By the way, here's a list of things you need to know:
1. It does NOT take place in the "Dead" universe.
2. It has no characters from previous "Dead" films.
3. I don't own any "Dead" rights.
Chapter One up soon!!!

Chapter One: "Oz"
Justin had never seen a zombie in real life. They had raided the Earth for years, but never actually saw one (he did live in a nuclear fallout shelter after all). But his father had seen many and had dozens of fascinating stories of destroying them.
"Don't ever get bitten," his father would say. "You'd be one of 'em."
He had seen pictures, however, none close enough to actually close enough to see their details. But one was particularly disturbing- two zombies, lunging forward towards the camera man. The background was barely lit, but it was apparent there was dead bodies there. Justin hated that picture, it was why he never wanted to see the overworld.
"Oz," his father had once said. "Oz is where we will someday end up. A beautiful place where humans live."
He had heard that since he was a little boy, bright-haired and very pale. But things changed. He was now dark tan (which is a surprise with the fact that he had never seen the sun) and was 17. He now knew that there was no Oz, and even though how hard his father believed in it, there would never be an Oz.
It was just him and his father now- the wife was dead, and it was just those two and thosands of soda cans and air-compressed food. His father was constantly working on a radar-type mechanism, searching for movement- some one new to talk to and listen to their stories. Justin realized, also, that it would never happen.
"You ever seen 'Day of the Dead'?" his father had asked on the eve of June 6th.
"No," Justin said.
"Well, it's pretty much our story- zombies take over our world, and scientists try to find a cure for the zombies. In the end they find an island to reside on. It ends. And that, son, is how I know there IS an Oz. That island is our Oz. Someday, we'll never have to worry about these creatures."
Sentimental crap, thought Justin. He only wished he could express his feelings. Just yell, "Dad, their is no goddam Oz! We will never find anybody but ourselves, so just shut the hell up!" But he never did. Their relationship was too precious to **** up.
It was June 6 again. Justin's 16th June 6th. He learned to value every day because it only comes once a year. But this June 6th was special.
Something on the radar had appeared- and it moved.
