America's Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) have hit back at rapper 50 Cent's homophobic comments -- by inviting him to their annual ball.
The hip-hopper -- who was raised by his bisexual mother -- told the current edition of Playboy magazine, "I don't like gay people around me, because I'm not comfortable with what their thoughts are. Women who like women, that's cool."
But, instead of reprimanding the rapper, GLAAD have applauded him for his honesty.
GLAAD spokesperson Riley Snorton says, "We applaud 50 Cent's honesty in talking about the murder of his bisexual mother and appreciate his acknowledgement that he is not comfortable with gay people. We know that confronting homophobia can indeed be uncomfortable.
"I'd like to invite 50 Cent as my personal guest. GLAAD encourages 50 Cent to get to know the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual) community, and we are fully confident that in doing so he will find that he has more in common with us than he thinks."
And in related news...
RAPPER WORRIES ABOUT NAIL CONDITION
50 Cent has hired a manicurist to ensure his nails are kept in top condition, in a move that contradicts the hip-hop star's hard-man image.
The rapper is also ensuring his entourage's nails are treated by his new recruit.
A source tells British tabloid newspaper Daily Star, "Having nice nails is all part of being in the public eye but 50 only likes to work with his own people.
"The girl he has hired is a family friend and she must be good [because] all 50's crew are getting manicures too.
"It's not what you might expect from bad boy rappers but 50 and his crew are hot when it comes to their appearance."
Hmmm...going to gay balls and hiring manacurists? I think he's trying to tell us something here.
