This is the RULES from the BATTLES THREAD: Modifications have been made.


The STAR WARS BATTLE THREAD

This is a thread that will be continued from the SW UNIVERSE VOL 2 THREAD. This will be where all of the FIGHTING, and ONLY FIGHTING, will be discussed and to take place.

HOW IT WILL WORK:

FIRST...continue to POST in the SW UNIVERSE THREAD. Continue to post your missions, continue to *pratice* your saber skills and all that other stuff. Now, Once you get to a FIGHT, then it will carry on to this THREAD.

AN EXAMPLE OF HOW A FIGHT COULD SET UP...IN "SW UNIVERSE THREAD"
*Jedi Master USER 1 confronts Sith Lord USER 2...a fight is to come...* Then proceed to this THREAD.

SOMEONE WILL POST THE TITLE OF THE FIGHT at the TOP. (EX: USER 1 VS USER 2). Post the location of the fight, the weapons used and so forth. Any details that may be important. State what position you hold. (i usual do this, but anyone can, just try and keep it the same format, for consistincy sake:p)


RULES:
1) the USERS in the FIGHT can not describe the action of the FIGHT that they are in. The action and how the fight plays out will be described by other posters. (ex: USER 1 attacks USER 2 with swift blows from his saber, but USER 2 counters and is clearly stronger) Post from the beginning of the fight, up until near the end. Get creative and make it interesting. Let the FIGHT flow and have balance. Post dialog in the FIGHT if it calls for it and or fits. DO NOT POST AN ENDING (DO NOT POST WHO YOU FEELS SHOULD LIVE OR DIE OR HOW THE BATTLE SHOULD END). You MAY post more then one SET OF ACTION, but DO TRY NOT TO POST BACK TO BACK, let others take part in this.

2) Once all the action has been described and the fight has taken place for some time, and the end of the fight is upon us, a VOTE will be taken. ONCE AGAIN, the USERS in the FIGHT can not vote. The VOTE will go to FIVE, for now (unless this forum grows). YOU MAY ONLY VOTE ONCE. Just simply state who YOU feel should win the FIGHT. BE FAIR.

3) Once the VOTE has finished and a winner has been declared, the WINNER of the FIGHT may proceed and end the BATTLE/FIGHT the way they feel like. They will decide the fate of the fight. They can describe how they kill the LOSER, let the LOSER go, if the LOSER escapes, or if they want to die themselves, they can have themselves be killed in any way they please. (remember, not always does the LOSER have to die, and more often shouldn't). (EXAMPLE OF THIS, with USER 1 being declared the VICTOR, would go as follows: USER 1 kills USER 2 by stabbing him with his Saber...but get more creative) IF THE VOTE ENDS IN A DRAW, the FIGHT will automatically be a draw, and none will die.

4) If you DIE, NO MATTER HOW YOU DIE, you do not have to stop having the fun. You can come back, but must start from the beginning, NO MATTER WHAT, YOU HAVE TO RESTART WITH NO POWERS, either as a Padawan or a Rebel who wants to be a Bounty Hunter, and so on. You can, if you choose, change your Name (not your USER NAME, just your name in this GAME), but you DO NOT HAVE TO...or if if you DIE and you would like to come back as a SPIRIT of the FORCE, you may (ex: ben kenobi from A New Hope), and just impart wisdom. SUICIDE OR KILLING YOURSELF ALSO APPLIES TO THIS RULE...One way to avoid having to start over, is by just saying you need time away from the game, and that you will return one day. (other words, just fly into space)

IMPORTANT:

*There is NO LIMIT on how many can FIGHT AT ONE TIME.

*Theres no Time Limit on the Action of the Battle, or the amount of Posts for the Action. If the fight is playing out very well and lasting long, thats fine, but eventually, WE WILL NEED TO VOTE ON A WINNER.

EXTREMELY AND MOST IMPORTANT: DECIDING FACTOR(S) ON POSTING ACTION AND THEN VOTING: PLEASE READ BELOW (it will be posted in red)

These apply to how the ACTION in a Battle should go, as well as what should be a factor in how you (each user) VOTES.

*The Battles should also be determined on how much the USERS posts on these THREADS, *Trains and Practices*, and how high of a position they hold, as well as past BATTLE EXPERIENCES (how many fights each user has been in and if they won/lost). Take all of this into account. (A Padawan MOST LIKELY will not kill a Sith Lord on his own) If someone *pratices saber skills* a great amount in the "SW UNIVERSE" THREAD and is successful on their missions, and posts very often and posts have SUBSTANCE, take that into account. MOST IMPORTANT...LETS BE FAIR and HAVE FUN...GET CREATIVE.

To break it down...these are what applies to when you post action and vote (these are in no order). In ( ) there will be the weight value of each breakdown. So here it goes:

1) How much the User posts (carries small amount of weight. (WEIGHT VALUE = 10%)


2) How much each User Trains/Practices (carries medium to almost heavy weight, VERY IMPORTANT ELEMENT - lets face it, practice makes perfect, and don't forget to practice your force powers and IF you only practice a new skill a few times, you will not be able to use that skill very well, now would you? - WEIGHT VALUE= 50-60%


3) How big of a role to the stories to the Users play. How Important and Well thought out and planned are the POSTS of each User. SUBSTANCE, relevance in a post, counts. SUBSTANCE WILL HELP YOUR FORCE POWERS, YOUR WISDOM GROW, BUT YOU MUST TRAIN FOR YOUR LIGHTSABER SKILLS TO IMPROVE. WEIGHT VALUE = 40-50% - Its almost-to-same value as training because training brings saber skills up and this brings wisdom up.



4) What position each User holds (carries medium weight. A JEDI COUNCIL MEMBER will know how to use a lightsaber, so if they hold this position, leaway (sp?) should be given to them and they should know how to fight even if they post more SUBSTANCE OVER TRAINING. WEIGHT VALUE = 25-35%


5) The location/possiblie advantage of each user (carries very very little weight as location rarely, but can sometimes, make a bit of a difference) WEIGHT VALUE = 1%


6) Situation leading up to the Battle. For instance, a User fighting for Revenge has more incentive and therefore should be given a little boost. Also, if a User comes from another Battle or possiblity a War, take this into account as that User might be tired and/or hurt already going into the Fight (carries little weight) WEIGHT VALUE = 1-5%

Again, take these into accounts. NOT ALL FIGHTS HAVE TO BE FAIR. Sometimes there will be a very uneven fight, but thats how it goes. I've seen several battles that should not have been as close as they have been.

SUBSTANCE means almost as much, and can mean as much as TRAINING. Therefore its fair to all users (those who wish only to train and those who wish to post important elements rather then just training) BUT, training is still the most important element

for those rules, i think number 6 should just be tossed out as far as the emotional aspect of it. sure they have more incentive to fight if they are fighting for revenge, but they probly wont be level headed and calm and they could make rash decisions, so it cancels itself out.

Ok.. it might seem weird, a bounty hunter coming before you.. but I have to sort some things out. I've never really.. believed.. in any of this force stuff.. or maybe I just didn't want to believe.. but recently I've been experiencing visions, strange feelings, warnings of danger, hearing voices.. and looking back I've felt them throughout my whole life. It's aided me as an assassin, I know that now, but I've never questioned what it was.

But my lifes hit a rut.. bounty huntings too easy and tiresome.. and I've begun to wonder, could this feeling be something to do with the force? I know it seems far off but I never knew my father.. and it could be possible that he was a jedi.. or force sensitive at least..

I've heard theres some kind of war brewing.. and I thought maybe.. i could be of some use to you.. I am one of the best assassins and bounty hunters in the galaxy, second only to Boba Fett after all. What do you think?

JEDI: Because we do not know where it is. Although luckily neither does the new emperor. But we can be assured he knows of it.

2_much: What is the plan?

JEDI: We need to first recruit systems, we must get to them before TORNADO does. If he gets them first they will have to convert now or fall forever. We can not let that happen. Second: We do a sweep of the galaxy, look at every possible place this crystal could be, which means all of us will be spending alot days in the archives and be doing alot of traveling.

JEDI TO THE CROWD: Ladies and gentleman, there have been many ideas of what the republic is and what it should become. We are not all in agreement...

I'd like to ask what is you value so highly, that you are willing to fight and possibly die for.

We will call that the republic. Now, I don't know how big of an army our enemy has, it may very well be the ten times our size and if you wish to leave the order, I will not think any less of you, infact if I were you, I'd would be thinking about myself.

But, if you wish stay here in the JEDI ORDER, we will show the galaxy what the JEDI are really made of.

*boromir and his padawan reach tornado, who just slayed a couple more people*

*tornado looks up at boromir, and then over to his padawan*


*boromir and tornado exchange a few words*

boromir: i'll tell you later. you go in on the left, i'll take him from the right.

*the two ignite their lightsabers*

*the bounty hunters turn to see fineus*

*a fierce battle begins*

*boromir's padawan ran forward while boromir made his way swiftly from the right*

*tornado ignited both of his lightsabers and charged forward*

*the padawan attacked first, he swung at tornado only to recieve a block and a kick to the stomach sending him back.*

*seeing an open spot boromir flipped over tornado trying to attack in two places with his sabers however tornado blocked both but got a punch in the jaw with boromir's lower fist*

*boromir said something to tornado via mind*

*upon landing tornado kicked boromir in the back sending him back about 3 feet as boromir landed and slid back an extra foot*

ot- tornado you can finish the second half when you see this then we can set up the battle

I believe master LoK has already informed you of my reason for being here. And just to add to what has already been said, I never actually expressed any desire to be a Jedi, although that is something which has crossed my mind. Perhaps I could still be of some use to you however, in some other way.

I am a battle hardened warrior, a skilled assassin. I am also capable of force-pike combat and if it turns out I am force sensitive.. then perhaps I could even take on a Jedi.. or.. a sith.
