View Full Version : Which do you prefer: Sitcoms with or without laugh track?
I've always watched sitcoms and found them funny, but lately I've found myself much more entertained by those comedies without laugh track. It's almost as if they try harder to make the viewer at home laugh, rather than depend on an applause sign. (I usually judge how funny a show based on whether or not I laugh out loud when I'm watching it alone.)
Some of my favs include: Malcolm in the Middle, Arrested Development, and the hysterical Curb Your Enthusiasm.
What do you prefer?

Depends what kind of sitcom it is.
Seinfeld, King of Queens = Laugh track okay.
CYE, Arrested Development = No Laugh Track!
A Canadian show called Blackfly did the same documentary-style of Malcolm and CYE but also included a laugh track and it ruined the show.

I agree with the above. Any show with the common sitcom style does well with laugh track, but shows like Malcolm, Arrested Development, Simpsons etc...The laugh track ruins it.

Hate the laugh track!! Hate it!! Unless there's a real audience laughing, it's basically corny.
