Trembled' actor dies
Actor Jonathan Brandis, 27, who starred in the movie "The Year That Trembled," which was filmed in Ohio, was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment Wednesday. Brandis, 27, was found by friends and pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the Los Angeles coroner's office. There were no signs of violence. An autopsy was due to be performed yesterday, an investigator said. "The Year That Trembled," produced by Tyler Davidson and Scott Lax, who were living in the Cleveland area at the time, was filmed in Ohio and premiered at the Cleveland International Film Festival in 2002. Brandis played Casey Pedersen, a young man who is caught up in the turmoil of the Vietnam War. "It's a terrific tragedy, and our hearts go out to the family," said Davidson, who now lives in Los Angeles.
RIP <3
He was great in such movies as "stephen kings IT, sidekicks, and of course, Ladybugs" :(

Holy crap..I used to have a crush on him (like every female did) ..this is terrible. It was certainly unexpected. ..if it's true.
Something doesn't add up. If it's a joke, it isn't funny.

I thought even the lesser seen actors like Brandis who die would get some coverage from CNN or other news Networks.
This is odd.
While I was never a fan of his work , It is sad when someone we grew up with in movies and TV dies.:(
Another death in a very sad year for celebrities.

This is very weird there is no other articles about his death on the internet. IMDB.com has not even mentioned it and they mention every actors passing.

It is on CNN now under the "entertainment" section so I assume it is fact now. Weird because like 4 days ago me and my girlfriend were just talking about him and how he hasnt done much lately. We couldnt remember his name, just thathe was on seaquest and sidekicks.
A shame really. I didnt read the other stories posted but the CNN story says a friend called 911 to say he had commited suicide. doesnt say how though.

11-21-2003, 08:22 AM
yeah it was. I mean I watched that movie a thousand times as a kid and could never get tired of Joe Piscopo getting his ass handed to him by Chuck, and the old Chinese guy training the kid.
Damn shame.
But if the suicide thing is true then I really dont feel sorry for him. Sounds like a case of old teen idol close to turning 30 just not being able to handle it any more now that they arent famous.
Sad and all but he took the pussy way out.

Never will understand that point of not having fate in your life only because you are not seing your face on TV every day no more... jeez! Bruce Willis and John Travolta would have shot them long time ago if it was for that... but look where they are now!!
Suicide is really nothing to feel bad for, you are right, its just that someone didnt have enough guts to take care of his own life...

Well what would you call him? A brave soul who couldnt handle life so he took the easy way out?
No they guy hung himself because his career sucked more than Jenna Jameson.
The guy was a good actor but nothing special. It is sad and all but he did take the pussy way out. I feel the same way about anyone who kills themselves or ODs on drugs. If I were to meet anyone like that in the afterlife I would make a point to bring it to their attention that everyone thought they were a loser for killing themselves.

I gotta agree with Jordan and Melissa on this. Just think what his family is going through right now. Also put yourself in the shoes of his friends, would you be calling him a pussy then. No you would be mourning him and wishing that you could have helped him in some way.

No. I agree with him. Who are you to say how someone should feel about someone killing themselves? I feel anyone not tough enough to stick with it until God takes them is a pansy. Especially some good looking pretty boy who couldnt handle the fact that the best thing in his career was a tv show with a talking dolphin and that he has not had a good job for a while. I would kill to have 1 good starring role in a movie and he had several and dated some hot girls while he was there (including Tatyana Ali). I feel sorry for his family/friends but he is a panty waste.
But then again someone who has a Steel Magnolias quote for a sig probably would be a bleeding heart for someone like that.

Well, this is getting ugly. Suffice it to say, suicide is not the answer; however, that doesn't give the lot of you the right to call him a pussy and trample on his memory. We all believe what we believe so at least have the decency to show some respect, no matter what you think about him or his choice.
southern, Knerys, props to you. I agree with the both of you for the most part.

Who knows why he did it but it doesn't chagne that he did. You don't have to feeel anything for him. Just don't be disrespect to his survivors alright. Some one died. It's tragic and it's useless yes, but don't think that you can judge some because he had a good movie role or a hot girl friend. So don't feel sorry for him, just don't say anything about it then.
Sorry Rogue, I'm finished.

That sentance completely sums up my feelings. It doesn't matter what you think of him. It's a respect issue. So try having some.

He did not respect human life. Why should I respect him? Anyone gives me a good answer to this and i will apologize to anyone I offended. I dont respect someone who has no respect for his own life. How could you expect me to?
You might think it lacks decency but he had no respect for his friends, family, or even himself and you expect me to say "Geez, so sad. I respect the guy though"
Get real.

You have no idea what he was going through. Maybe he saw it as his only way to gain peace and be free of pain and his demons. You don't know, so you can't speak on it simple as that
mentiroso
12-05-2003, 03:52 PM
True, he may have only had a dollar in his name, just lost the love of his life and found out there wont be a Sidekicks 2 after all so he ended it.
BUT
You cant ask me to show respect for that.
Someone who does not respect life enough to live it does not get any respect from me.
He could have easily done a few commercials, moved his way back up. Tried to get back with his gf or whatever the deal was. But instead he hung himself.
Now I respect that he had a somewhat good career and was a pretty good young actor but you can throw all that out of the window now because he blew it. For himself and all his friends and family. He has no respect so he gets no respect, just like his co-star Rodney Dangerfield.

Get real. He did not respect his life, not human life. It's sad sistuation and people like you make it worse because you think it ok to rip apart the mermory of these people. You don't know him, I don't know him, but I'm not going to call him names becasue I don't agree with what he did.
You don't have to respect him, but respect that his family what his family is going though. Their the ones that should be pissed right now, not some random people on a message board,
I'm out.
mentiroso

I am not pissed at him in anyway. Pissed at the fact people like you tell me to respect some loser who killed himself.
No one has any right to try and make me respect someone like that.
You people have no respect. You try and tell me to respect a loser, but you dont respect what I have to say?
I am just calling the guy a loser, he on the other hand killed himself and upset his fans (yeah like he had any left), his friends and family.
He has no respect for his friends, family or himself. So why should I respect that if he didnt? I respect my friends and family enough not to do some stupid crap like that. That is respect. He has not earned respect.
I do respect his friend and family. BUT I do not respect anyone who takes their own life. He is rotting in hell right now while the rest of the world deals with real struggles, not pansy stuff like not being in a new movie or soemthing stupid like that.
