Didn't skin get canceled?

Yeah I am so mad that Skin got cancelled. I was really getting into it! Apparently, it was getting really bad ratings, so FOX pulled the plug without warning. For me, there's still the O.C.!!

I didn't know that Skin got cancelled. I thought it was such a great show. It was one my favorite show...That's almost why I bought my freakin TiVo (which I love by the way)...What should I tivo now?? I love taping all these shows and then coming home and watching them commercial free!!

Is TiVo a subscription based service, or just a recording device? Do you hook in directly to your satalite reciever or cable box? What kind of price are they available at?

KRIS,
TiVo works with:
Cable box (digital or analog)
Satellite receiver
Cable (with or without a converter box)
Rooftop antenna
Old-fashioned "rabbit ears".
12.95 a month, 299 one time set up fee.

Kris,

I definitely recommend getting a TiVo. There's so many great features on it that makes watching TV so much easier. The whole Season Pass thing kicks ass!

actually, Tivo is running some kind of rebate - only $199 for the Series 2 box, with the 50 buck rebate.

And if you have Direct Tv, i think the combo box is only $99 bucks and like 5 bucks a month.

So pretty affordable, considering it really changes the way you watch tv (no more sitting through mindnumbing crap you don't like)

Is it really that cheap now?? That's such a great deal. Why wouldn't everyone have one?

I don't pay the $5 a month because I have premium service (which means like EVERY freaking channel - oh why must I be so addicted to Discovery Health and Boomerang!)

On my season pass: (living room unit)

That 70s show
Friends
CSI (the original - not the crappy Miami spin off)
Will and Grace
Cold Case
Yes, Dear
Angel
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
Penn & Teller - Bull*****
University of Florida Football Highlights
ESPN College Gameday (I love you Kirk Herbstreit!)

The unit in My room:
Trading Spaces
Monster House
The new Double Dare
FBI Files
Medical Detectives
Justice League
Spongebob Squarepants

My Season Pass is pretty filled up. I am so glad I have the 2 Tuner System.

'24'

The O.C.
Smallville
Angel
Monster House
Monster Garage
ER
Friends
Monday Night Raw
Will and Grace
Law and Order
Law and Order: SVU

Dead Zone - Only New Episodes
Monk - Only New Episodes

Now I just have to find time to watch all of this stuff.

Yeah I told my brother to get the DirecTivo for that reason. THe two tuner thing kicks a$$, and for only like 100 bucks, it is a no brainer to buy that if you have Direct TV.

Do you just throw those names on your Wish list? or do you go through and pick out all the programs?

I remember I did a wish list for any travel documentary and got some great shows.

We have 3 Tivos in our house - my girlfriend tends to watch just about every prime time drama there is. As for what's on MY SP list across the Tivos....

Pardon The Interruption (ESPN)
Sports Reporters
Monster House
Monster Garage
Two and a Half Men
Letterman
Conan
Simpsons
Malcolm in the Middle
That 70s Show
Arrested Development
Enterprise
Smallville
Angel
Trading Spaces
The Daily Show

Can someone explain to me the difference between the wish list and season pass features on TiVo??

If you get a Season Pass for a show, Tivo will record every ep of that show on that network (unless you tell it not to record repeats). Tab a show for a Season Pass and you will get all the first run eps recorded without ever having to think about it again.

With a Wish List, you can type in a keyword, actor, director, title, whatever. Then you can set Tivo to record it whenever it comes on. This wish list will record across any channel.

Examples:
"24" on Tuesday nights - season pass (records 24 on FOX, even if they switch days)

all "wrestling" shows on tv - wish list (records all wrestling-related shows on all channels)

Don't know if that made sense or not.

3 Tivos, WOW. Guess you like the thing, huh?

Mr. Coaster- made perfect sense. My girlfriend has the wish list set up for every 76ers game (she loves Allen Iverson) and and Harrison Ford movies.

Meanwhile I wishlist the travel docs.

Monster Garage stays on Season Pass- repeats and new episodes.
