(I hope I ain't the ONLY one here who took a chance on a game with a bad rep. Besides, if an average player like me beat it in 48 hours, I'm sure others got to where I did with a weekend rental.)
Ok, so I get to the Demon's inner sanctum. I'm in the room with all kinds of exits. I think, "this'll take a while" and pick one. Turns out the first one I picked leads to 2 Elite Guards, Ubu, and a kick-ass swordfight with Ra's al Ghul!
I proceed to lay the smack down on al Ghul's genocidal candy ass, and see the ending:
Batman punches out al Ghul and tosses his sword away.
Ra's pulls out his detonator and melts the ice caps ANYWAY, destroying all coastal cities.
WTF?!
I can only think of 3 things I did wrong maybe:
1. I DIDN'T re-establish contact with Oracle.
2. Maybe I picked the wrong exit?
3. I didn't get all the art/CD's
Since I saved right before the fight with Ra's, I gotta do the game all over again! :(

Was the game as bad as they said?

I liked it pretty good - though it did have it's share of problems - namely the camera! I think people think the first boss, Black Mask, is the hardest. This is because of the camera! You can be charging him, but as you get there the camera angle will switch totally, allowing him to empty a clip into you!
Also, the game seems to be on the short side as well (see above).
But the good - the cinematics are AWESOME. And when you get the fighting down, you can lay the smack down on the bad guys pretty well (run up to 3 guys, and jump-kick them all down at once, get knocked down and turn around and sweep the guy off his feet).
Easily worth a rental, and I wasn't disappointed for spending 20 bucks on it new, myself.

See I had a funny feeling it wasn't as terrible as they said it was, I figured it wasn't a must have but I didn't think it could all that bad. I still don't understand why ETM got such bad reviews..........I love that game.

Go where the rats are - and run like @##! from them! At one part where they are there's a crack in the wall - punch it to get through.

*thinks*
The nightvision is to find a "safehouse" where you can get more weapons - not really neccesary, I only found it the second time through.
Have you swam under the rock yet? At one point you have to swim under a rock and come out on the other side to pass through...but I forget if that comes before or after the rats... :o
Anyway - I got the GOOD ending! In the multi-exit room, you have to explore till you go down a few stories to the computer room - and use your universal tool on the terminal to sabotage Ra's remote!
And the ending it SWEET!
