Just finished The Stand...[Spoilers]

Thought it was a great book...but i was wondering why the four guys had to go to vegas. they did nothing. can someone explain the significance of that scene with trashcan man?

What scene with Trashcan man are you talking about? And they went to Vegas in an attempt to make their final stand against Flagg, which kinda didn't go according to plan.

Don't watch the movie, BTW. The ending is wholly different and they messed with alot of the story.

i just finished this book yesterday. It's a huge book and at times I thought it just went way to slowly. But it was an okay book, definitely not Kings worst (The Tommyknockers), but its not his best one either. I find Dreamcatcher to be one of his best books, but most people say its "The Stand". I was expecting a bigger struggle at the end. Oh well. Good book all in all.

I loved The Stand. I wasn't thrilled with the deus ex machina ending, but I still thought the book, as a whole, was great.
