Rod Roddy; the man who mad the phrase COME ON DOWN...Your the next contestant on the Price is right has passed away. He was 66.

September 18, 1937 - October 27, 2003
Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Roddy was born Robert Ray Roddy September 18, 1937, and later attended the Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He gained fame as the announcer for quite a few long lasting television game shows, such as, "Family Feud" from 1991 to 1992, "Love Connection" from 1983 to 1985, "Press Your Luck" from 1981 to 1985, "Hit Man" in 1983, "Battlestars" from 1981 to 1982, "Whew" from 1979 to 1980, and the television series "Soap" from 1977 to 1981.

On September 11, 2001, he was diagnosed with colon cancer and a year later, breast cancer. (Yes, men can get it too) After many rounds of chemotherapy and other treatments, Roddy fought the disease until his death at the age of 66 on October 27, 2003, in Los Angeles.

He will be sadly missed.
